Summary: So everyone woke up this morning probably feeling less love than they'd been feeling lately. Or maybe love for different people. Either way, things are probably awkward for couples and ex-couples alike |D this is to prune down the journal-spam of everyone going "OH GOD WHAT DID I DO" and dashing off to kiss and make up. ...Naturally you can still do that, but this'll help. Hopefully.

[Minato is pretty much avoiding his eyes anyway, though any redness on his face is entirely from the wind of course.]

[Yeah.... Silence all around... It's no good. It's totally no good.

He tries to leave.]

Keiichi. [..."Don't go."

He still doesn't know what to say but him leaving.... them running away.... that won't fix this.]

[He stops... And again struggles with himself. He wants to talk, but he doesn't know what to say. He's not ready for this. But... The draft, he can't just take his sweet time and let things stay as they are.

They have to fix this.

Is there really anything to be fixed? Of course there's Haruhi but... And there's Rena and the others... And... Keiichi groans in frustration and let's himself fall to the ground, sitting a few steps away from Minato.

At least he's not leaving.]

[There's more silence for a while, as Minato watches Keiichi's back. Finally-]

Are you angry?

[That's the core of it, isn't it? They'd involved Keiichi - he'd involved, because even though rationally it was all three of them together, he can't put blame on anyone but himself. He'd gone along willingly despite suspecting an experiment. That made the situation now his fault.]

[breaks_destiny]

[Keiichi is just busy keysmashing in his brain. Trying to sort his thoughts, his worries... Minato's question stops it all though and Keiichi looks at him as if he had gone mad.]

[Still the same look. At least he frowns a bit trying to think, it doesn't take long before he answers seriously.]

[they basically ruined him for marriage this week and it was all because of an experiment. Not being upset or angry at all, but "annoyed..." You're strange, Keiichi.]

I... The things that happened last week are all crazy. But only because it was an experiment, if it hadn't been none of that would matter, right? So there's no point in getting worked up over that even if now I wish some of them hadn't happened. It's not going to make them go away so...

[Shrug. Yes, he gave his first kiss to Haruhi. Yes, he also kissed Minato. Yes there was... That... But at the time all of it made sense, all of it was something he wanted and liked and he can't look back and be "no, I didn't like it" or anything like that.

It doesn't stop making it awkward but...]

...Yeah. [he's right. and honestly, that's a big relief too.

Uh... Why? If I ever had to go through any of that, experiment or not I would have preferred it to be with you... Well, I would have preferred to pass on some details but... Dating a girl who also loves and dates you? I think I could live with that.

The horrible part is that it had to be Haruhi out of all the girls in this village.

[Sigh. Why Haruhi, really. It's what made everything far worse.]

[He just looks at Keiichi for a moment. And then... he actually laughs. Not because it was funny but more out of irony and a little bit of relief. And then he flops back onto the ground.]

I shouldn't even have worried.

[Keiichi reacted in the best possible way. It was the way he'd tried to take with Chie last year, and had only moderately succeeded. He can't say he didn't enjoy it while it'd lasted, and forcing it to become a bitter memory only makes everyone miserable.

But the remaining problem is Haruhi. Even if Keiichi is doing fine he can't imagine they'll be so lucky with her.]

[The fact that he doesn't realize that he was in love with Minato as well makes it easier to deal with it. The fact that Keiichi has kind of gotten used to have memories of things that don't fit the way he really is also makes it easier. It's far easier to accept that for a week he was deep in love with Haruhi and wanted her knowing that Minato wanted her too and trying to find a way so the three of them were happy than accept that he... Smashed Rena's head with a bat. Definitively easier.]

[Minato has an idea about that facet of the experiment, and why he was so willing to share with Keiichi. But he won't mention it. It's not important anymore. What is important is Haruhi, which is far less easy to sort out.]

[why? because... it proved in the end that he put lust above love. He'd 'loved' Haruhi then - but there were so many warning signs he'd ignored, because he liked the feeling of being wanted.]

I should have stopped myself.

[Keiichi isn't sure of that, he loved Haruhi and at the moment it had felt right, almost logical even if he had been nervous and still scared of it not meaning anything... Which it certainly didn't. It meant nothing except that it was a mistake, but again, that's only that way because the experiment ended, right? Because it was from an experiment. Would it still be a mistake if it hadn't been?]

We all should have, none did, it's not as if you're the only one to blame. I should have stopped myself too from terrifying a little child who still had committed no sin by showing illusions of my own dead body.

I know... And it's okay if you and I think that. [...."but is she." He trails off before he says that.]

[It was a bit worse than just show her a dead Keiichi, the memory scares even him, honestly. But it's true that it's not what's important now.]

She's probably taking it the worst of us three... That's why we should come to terms with it soon, so when we go to talk with her to try to fix things [Which doesn't sound will happen anytime soon.], we can do it properly. After all, it's Haruhi who we're talking about.
