[As promised, Grell is creeping watching Alistair as he fights. During a slight lull in the siege, Grell appears nearby, seemingly out of thin air with a chainsaw resting on one shoulder.]

[ she stoops to reclaim her scythe, spinning it easily in her hand. it's her turn now to come up behind the elite, slamming her heel into the small of his back. she takes her blade to the hanging wing. it's easy to sever but the second armoured one will take more work than she can complete considering the soldier's extreme aversion to losing it encouraged a lot of wriggling away.

so buffy steps back to regain her footing. she wants to punish the soldier for taking the power from her -- it may have been the shifter who worked the magic, but it was this elite who had been the physical agent of that helplessness. this earns him a heavy kick to the gut before he can stand. ]

[ Their main objective being accomplished doesn't make their part in this battle finished. Chouji's well aware of that, whether he likes it or not, and so he sets out to do his part among the general masses.

The trademarked family jutsus are more likely to be seen at work than anything else, and he'll be putting all his strength into those strikes- the harder the hit, the faster the target dies, the less it hurts them, right? That is his theory upon plucking Third Party members from the sky and using an enlarged hand to tear off both wings at once, at least (he tries not to think of butterflies while he does it).

Never mind all the suspense and worry of waiting before a battle.

He hates this part the most. ]

[And taking things down is something the "extra calvary" was very skilled at. The Shifters had one fatal flaw, and that's that they could only technology or magic, not both at the same time. And while Celty's abilities were magical in nature, Gurren Lagann's, piloted by Gold and Simon, were most assuredly bullshit technology.

And so here comes Gurren Lagann, speeding towards the group on a newly acquired rocket-propelled skateboard.]

Go, Simon! Do it now! [Their target is that Shifter in the middle! And really, what hope do its protectors have against a 40-foot tall mecha?]

[Jack is happy to stand and watch, favoring that left leg. Smiling not entirely wholesomely at the slayer toying with her prey as he wipes the blood from his face.]

[So. One hand on the reins and one holding a weapon only somewhat resembling something he's used before.]

What do I do with it? Throw it?

[He immediately realizes that's a stupid question. Throwing the spear would mean having no more ammunition. On the other hand, using it at close range would mean they could have used their swords instead, without risking their lives.]

[ the elite becomes incapacitated pretty quickly. she leans in and hacks the second wing off as though she has been doing it all day. mostly because it's what she has been doing all day.

in the end, she steps back and sighs a very long and troubled sigh. ] Check the third one. He was still alive. [ at least, he was a few minutes ago. ]

[ Chouji was fine to go along with whatever teammates Shikamaru assigned him- mostly because Shikamaru assigned them, but also because everyone was here to help get the Shifters out of the picture like everybody else. With that in mind, there wasn't much point in objecting because he didn't know one of them.

Besides, Temari-san was very reliable and from what he could tell, Frey was a perfectly nice guy.

So obviously they'd manage to get things done just fine today. He was being optimistic. Go go, Team Awkward. ]

[Cheyenne hadn't been able to see that message in regards to shift incompatibilities so she isn't sure what Xion means... regardless, she sounds like she's sick. And if she's sick, she shouldn't be on the battlefield at all.]

If you are feeling ill, it would be unwise to remain out here alone. There is an area for those on the battlefield who cannot fight, isn't there?

[Archie peers at the spear. Then he peers at the gryphon. With a sigh, he tosses the spear back to his neighbor and grips the reins in both hands, turning it around to head straight for the soldiers flying at them.]

We'd need more people anyway, if they have allies to surround them, but...we can still keep our eyes open for ones separated from their soldiers or wounded or the like. Didn't Patchouli have a plan for them, too?

[That's a horrible saying, but I laughed.

Grell smiles and waves a hand dismissively. There's blood on the cuffs of his shirt, but Grell doesn't seem to mind. Also hello...giant bird thing. Do not eat Grell. That would make the death god v. unhappy.]

[Archie's lips part in a grin as the gryphon swoops directly for the first two flying soldiers.]

Take 'em apart, my friend. [He's addressing the gryphon, which gives a snarling cry and rips into the first enemy, casting it to the ground in time to tear the wings off the next.]

[And of course his streak of luck would end on the last day starting off with ending up at the wrong drop point.

Asad is definitely not amused by this. But at least it is easy enough to pick out where he should be even from this distance so he can get there as quickly as possible. He'll take out his journal and send a quick message to Sokka so the strategist can be aware of where he was and not waste men looking for him.

And then he will quickly and carefully head towards the distribution center trying to avoid engaging the enemy as much as possible alone. Of course if someone needs help, he's not going to ignore them.]

(ooc: Yes, I plan on him dying from this, but would rather have him go down helping someone else who is in trouble. No plans for who he helps out, so anyone can jump on in here whether he knows your character or not. I suck at planning in advance basically.)
