[Giles completely ignore the voice calling out a name he doesn't recognize - what with the entire village going insane, it's only to be expected. It takes him a few minutes before he realizes that the voice he doesn't recognize calling out the name he doesn't recognize is being directed at him.

Hm? He looks around until he spots the tiny green star and sees that it's staring at him.]

...hello?

[He almost dips to the ground. What the...?]

W-w-w-w-w-wait. When did you--how did you--learn how to talk?!

[Giles lowers himself a little further to the ground, the better to stare curiously at the...whatever the hell it is.]

Am I...not supposed to be able to talk? [A very honest question. Giles is glad that he's been able to be understood by the village, but he's also not used to the idea that a dragon can do so.]

[Don't worry, Hiccup has no idea what he is, either.]

You never have before! Aaaand, you know, it would have been very helpful to know that you've been able to talk this entire time!

[He's bobbing up and down emphatically.]

It's a sort of decoration we put up in my world. On Christmas, w-which is a very popular holiday.

A Christmas tree is a tree decorated with lots of, um, ornaments. Generally very sparkly. And there's supposed to be a star on top. Although sometimes it can be an angel.

[He glances down at his little green body. Yup, that'd fit the bill, wouldn't it?]
