New Species Event - Mass Interaction Log

Who: Anyone!
What: All in here
When: Today, Tomorrow, Until April 2nd
Where: Anywhere in Luceti!
Summary: People in Luceti wake up as something they weren't before. An elf, a gremlin, a vulcan, or perhaps a mermaid? Try living in someone else's shoes... if they can even wear those.
Rating: Not recommended for those with weak constitutions, raging hormones, shipping goggles, or people just too cool and attractive for this kind of thing.

No need for LJ Cut! Mass action style stuff all around town. You can use this if you don't want to make a post. Or you can make a post anyway. Have at!

[It looks like school isn't actually in session then. Hopefully they'll get some good papers out of it. As it is, she's sitting on the bridge, knees drawn up, and trying to imagine herself anywhere but there, even though it's warring with a feeling that is actually quite peaceful with the circumstance.

Gelda's clumsy splashing catches her attention and she watches her fellow teacher's approach. Perhaps she can't complain too much about her transformation. Others certainly had it worse.]

[Once she's actually navigated close enough to the bridge, she places a hand on the shore to ensure the river's flow doesn't drag her along any further. This may be an awkward and mildly embarrassing situation, but she'll manage a smile nonetheless.]

Good afternoon, Raine.
wise_maiden: (that just can't look forward)

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2011-03-28 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[She's seen those kinds of features before. A long time ago, it seems now. But the person was familiar with her, so it was likely a part of the experiment instead.

There was something about the voice, though, that struck with familiarity this time. And even the features, though so different...]

Is that you, Gelda?

[identity profile] zora-professor.livejournal.com 2011-03-28 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, it is. [She tilts her head lightly, but even that motion feels strange to her. A Zora's head is so much heavier than that of a normal human, it certainly takes some getting used to. Not to mention the eyes on the sides of her head. Those were very disorienting the first ten minutes or so. Despite all this, she'll just keep smiling.]

I've been turned into a... Zora, it seems.
wise_maiden: (there is something curious about this)

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2011-03-28 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Just like... [Her mind searches for the name. It takes a few moments] Princess Ruto, if I remember correctly.

Are you all right like that?

[identity profile] zora-professor.livejournal.com 2011-03-29 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah... It was a bit startling at first, but I believe I'm slowly starting to get used to it.
wise_maiden: (and i will always miss you)

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2011-03-29 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
It just takes a little time, I suppose.

[Raine likely looks a little different herself, on a closer look. Longer hair and softer features.]

[identity profile] zora-professor.livejournal.com 2011-03-30 06:50 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, it does. [She pauses for a moment, still glancing up at Raine.] Were you unaffected, yourself?
wise_maiden: [ pureoptimism @ lj ] (you're up all night thinking it's over)

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2011-03-31 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
No, I was... I suppose it just isn't very obvious.

[identity profile] zora-professor.livejournal.com 2011-03-31 02:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[She swims a bit closer to the bridge to get a better look at Raine. Honestly, she's still having a hard time trying to figure out a pattern for this experiment. If there is one.]

... Is that so?

[identity profile] zora-professor.livejournal.com 2011-03-31 02:08 pm (UTC)(link)

wise_maiden: (by the hallways in this tiny room)

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2011-04-01 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
[She shrugs a little.] It's nothing terribly interesting. I'm just not really myself, I suppose.

[identity profile] zora-professor.livejournal.com 2011-04-01 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[She tilts her head curiously, but decides to drop the matter nonetheless.] Well, at least it'll be over soon. I hope so, anyway. This form is rather... odd.
wise_maiden: (waiting to change)

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2011-04-01 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
[She does feel a little guilty for not being as open with Gelda. Maybe ...

She'll test the waters, so to speak.]

Just another means of stepping into another's skin, isn't it? Some of the changes are quite diverse.

[identity profile] zora-professor.livejournal.com 2011-04-02 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[She gives a helpless smile and holds up her arm, showing off one of her huge fins.] That's putting it rather mildly. We've more peculiar species than usual in the village, now.
wise_maiden: (you let time slip away)

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2011-04-03 12:26 pm (UTC)(link)
When there are more differences, I suppose it stands out more. It's a little surprising that no one really calls attention to the day-to-day ones.

[identity profile] zora-professor.livejournal.com 2011-04-03 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
It's hard to tell just who changed and who didn't, I suppose. In some cases, you can't tell their identities at all anymore and they just mix in with the crowd.
wise_maiden: (in this house of leaves we'll pray)

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2011-04-03 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Given the variety of species, it's clear that most people have been changed. Unfortunately they haven't all changed in ways that would make them distinguishable.

I wonder if we could make an assignment out of it.

[identity profile] zora-professor.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 06:58 am (UTC)(link)
You know, I was thinking the same thing. This experiment would make a perfect subject for World Sharing class.
wise_maiden: (always looking out)

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2011-04-09 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps research on the species they've turned into, and whether or not others recognize it? Or perhaps the affect at being turned into something else--does it affect their perceptions of the world any?

[identity profile] zora-professor.livejournal.com 2011-04-09 01:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course, we'll have to be sure to include something for the students who weren't affected by this. Did they recognize the species their friends and family were turned into? Or perhaps we could question what species they would've liked to be.
wise_maiden: (by the hallways in this tiny room)

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2011-04-09 01:36 pm (UTC)(link)
No... I don't believe that last one is necessary. We want to expand their knowledge, not have them doubt their own species.
wise_maiden: (oh how the years go by)

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2011-04-09 01:52 pm (UTC)(link)
At least in Luceti, something like that doesn't seem like too much of an issue among the majority of our students. [...] But I'd rather stay away from that direction.

[identity profile] zora-professor.livejournal.com 2011-04-10 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course. We wouldn't want to venture into too dangerous territory. Our goal is to educate, after all.
