The Mallies are coming! The Mallies are coming!

Who: [livejournal.com profile] takesthemblonde and [livejournal.com profile] hatesherjob
What: The Malnosso arrive!
When: Today (this morning, pre-festival)
Where: The central plaza
Rating: Bil hopes it stays PG!

[As the village expected, Sir Catherine arrives in Luceti in the central plaza, having traveled there from the east. Along with him is a young girl dressed in this dress. She has been in Luceti before, a strange girl that last year some Lucetians found amongst a group of dead ex-Malnosso cultists that left only her behind during the Halloween ball. She is now Sir Catherine's personal assistant and apprentice (and quite cute to boot, despite her bland brunette hair!)

As for Sir Catherine, he is dressed in this manner, simply because he felt he might fit more in like this and because it gives him a certain distinction befitting of The Great One's envoy and leader of the Malnosso. Six figures, all dressed in robes that hide their faces, are also in his presence. Although not obvious, these are actually Malnosso droids in disguise. They are merely here to act as bodyguards, just in case. They will not speak if spoken to and remain stone faced.

Sir Catherine will be walking about inspecting the booths and games and later poke about the church, followed by his attendants. Sometimes he'll deliver his comments to Molly, who will jot them down on a clipboard. They'll talk to anyone who approaches them (though it may be Catherine OR Molly, unless you specify in your comment which one you want) to converse with them, though they can't stay and talk forever! There's much to do, after all.

((mod note: If your character met Molly in the Halloween Log, then they can remember her in the situation mentioned above.

Also, either Catherine or Molly will tag your character, unless you specify one you want. For our own sanity, we won't do double tag you with both. Sorry!))

What's it look like I'm doing?

Is there some kind of rule against loitering that I've never heard of?

[But. He lifts his hands and sidesteps.] Fine, whatever. I'm going.

[ She sees that anger.

It's not like she doesn't understand it.

And she's curious... but there is no way for her to ask without breaking character. ]
Wh-Wh-What is annoying you s-s-s-s-so much, anyway? [ ... nevermind. ]
fabrecation: (But I've had enough)

[Luke had just turned to walk away when she asked that question, and he stays there, his hands curling into loose fists at his sides. He's tempted to snap that she's only going to make him loiter, but he holds it back to think about her question.

What's annoying him so much? Too many things. The security around the two of them, how poorly they handle Shifts, how they don't even lift a finger to stop good people who disappear and are taken away, how no one seems to give a damn about this...

Rather than voice them all at once, though, Luke just makes a quick gesture to the side.]

All of this. [He might be gesturing to the festival, maybe to the village itself, maybe to Catherine and Molly themselves. Or all of them, really.]

[ ... as he's not facing her, and there is no one else in the immediate vicinity to see her face ... she lets some of her sympathy show through.

Or maybe she just can't help it. Good thing he's turned away, then.

However, when she speaks, her voice is low, and cold. ]

Y-Y-Y-You better get used to it. I-I-I-It's n-n-n-not like it's ever going t-t-t-t-t-t-t-to change. L-L-L-Luceti Valley h-has always b-b-b-been this w-way.

[ ... she regrets that as soon as she says it, shutting her eyes. She knows. Of course she knows. But he doesn't, and in just a few days, he will. And he will hate her for what she's said. And he will have every right.

How is she better than any of them? The people that she hates so much?

Very softly ]

... I'm sorry. Th-Th-Th-That was unkind.
