Buffy Summers asked Jack Sparrow to meet her at the battle dome. It was a plan that had been discussed before the pirate had disappeared and now that he was back? Well -- she cared very little for dawdling. They had dawdled before but now was the time for seizing. She had yet to overcome the horror of waking up alone for yet another morning when she had expected to be the furthest thing from it.

People change. And Buffy mused quietly upon the changes to be found in Jack as she waited just outside the dome's entrance. She had a bag-o-weapons at her feet and a plastic bottle filled with some sort of over-sugared juice in her hand.

"They know you're the Slayer, aye, and they were just about to have a bit of fun. Now: what happens next, hm?"


Probably---probably----this parallel was not going to work so well.

"If there's less than six of them, they're dust in the first five minutes. A bit longer for more. Oh! Wait..is it daytime? Can I knock a window out and fry them?"

Y-yeah. This parallel fell apart, somewhere.

"......Right. The pirates, darling, would go for the redcoat's throat as they hate the sight of a lawman stumbling into their jollifications. Therefore, were I to dress as a marine, the difficulty level of our date would shoot into the stratosphere, which means that I will in fact be dressing as Captain Jack Sparrow and no one else."

"...A red coat sounds cute, though. Can I have the red coat?"

Because little miss fashionista over here was simply envisioning a fine red leather jacket.

"Buffy? I think you already ARE a redcoat, technically, actually. Your best chance, Buffy, is to dress.....as a wench."

[herotypical]

Now she stepped rather quickly back and frowned at the pirate.

"You're playing me."

[all7seas]

"No. Me? Not playing you. Not playing you at all."

[herotypical]

"...Can't I get some daringly dressed-like-a-man-but-secretly-a-woman-shirt-and-leather-pants kind of costume? Y'know, something that doesn't involve the W word?"

[all7seas]

"You...want to dress as a man for our date, Annie?"

So. Sad. SO. Sad.

[herotypical]

A particularly cheeky grin.

"It's not like I'd look aol different from the jeans and t-shirt combo I am rocking right now, you know." Except I'd need your hat."

[all7seas]

"But you could be wearing a lovely wenchly gown...but it could be CLEAN, eh? And not all spilled over with ale. And it could lace up in the back, like."

"...Do you realize how tough those things are to fight in? I so do not envy the Slayers of the past."

[all7seas]

"Well I could do the fighting, couldn't I? And you could relax and enjoy yourself for once."

This? An unprecedented offer, Buffy.

"...Hmm." Her knee-jerk refusal melted into fair consideration. It wasn't as though it would be a real fight. Fake enemies, no real injuries. It had been part of why she had tossed that vamp his way in the first place.

Buffy watched him carefully. "I'm not sure sitting back and watching you fight counts as relaxing but -- but it's just about the only thing that comes close, in that building."

"You could dress like a lady pirate, if you like, instead of a little wench. Not like a man-pirate; there's lady pirates who dress very nice indeed."

Angelica, for one; she knew how to dress like a pirate and still look feminine. The large, feathered hat helped to that end, likely.

"...Okay, preferable. What do lady pirates wear?"

She was walking rather slowly; soaking in the upward turn of the evening.

"A linen shirt, of course, but not one that covers your lovely shoulders. And a leather cincher, but not too tight, eh? Just to tame your bosoms a bit. OH! And tall boots. Lovely tall boots..."

[herotypical]

...A sharp laugh at the thought of having bosoms in need of any taming at all. Though it didn't sound so bad -- she already had a wardrobe with plenty of off-the-shoulder tops. And tall boots.

Therefore: "I think that'd work. Fine. Lady-pirate it is."

"Lovely." Already planning a future date during a present date was also unprecedented for the pirate. He usually did not like to look that far forward in matters that concerned women. "And a hat. You'll need a hat."

"Yours'll do."

[all7seas]

"Seems to me you'll have to earn it, Annie."

[herotypical]

"Are you telling me I haven't already? Gee, how cold."

[all7seas]

Jack smiled at her and gestured toward the marauding bridge, and the not-too-distant House Seven. "And what am I meant to wear, if you've got MY hat?"

[herotypical]

"You can be hatless."

She would leave him his hat, in the end. But it was nice to tease as they headed toward the bridge.

"But don't you think I'm much more handsome-ish with a hat?" He walked backward over the bridge ahead of her, gesturing grandly. "Besides, you could wear a LADY pirate hat. With a feather and all."
