Where: Outside the Welcome Centre
Summary: Finally, the time has come to get Luceti's memory garden on the road.

Early on Sunday morning, Link can be found outside the Welcome Centre - gathering seedlings and seed packets, setting aside a willow sapling, laying out gardening tools. When it's still fairly early by the standards of most people, especially for a Sunday morning in summer, the following message will go out over the journals:

"Hi, everyone! D'you remember the garden I talked about earlier? Well, all the beds have been dug and I've got lots of plants, so come over to the Welcome Centre today and plant something for your friends that have gone home!"

If anyone heads on over, they'll find Link sitting back and relaxing, keeping an eye on the piles of gardening implements, small pots of seedlings and packets of seeds and a collection of bulbs, and a large sheet of paper and bundle of pencils. Across the top of the paper, the words, 'Leave a message for friends!' is written, and Link has already written the first message - 'Hi Vivi, I hope you like the gardens! Love Link'.

There will be snack runs over the course of the day. And if he can convince certain people, live music. Remembering friends, being outside on a sunny day (refreshing after yesterday's storm!), nice food, and music - what could be better?

So he hears! "My name's Link," he says with a smile. "Have you been in Luceti for long, Pommy?"

There - this spot looks good.

"Myu, only a few weeks, maybe." Pommy sets the pot down where Link's stopped. "What about Link?"

"I've been here for..." ...Hmm. Hold on, counting. "A year and nearly four months. I like it here, though," he adds with a smile.

"Myu, it seems like a nice place." Pommy frowns a little. "Even though we all got kidnapped here and don't know how to get back home."

[blessedbyfarore]

"And some of the experiments and kidnappings and the drafts aren't nice," he concedes, then shrugs. "It's okay. I still like it here better than Hyrule - I have a lot of friends here."

[bemyused]

Pommy tilts his head. "Link didn't have friends back home? But Link seems so nice!"

Oh, how to explain being a social outcast due to getting on the wrong side of The Popular Kid when Link barely grasps it himself... "I had a few friends there," he concedes, "But I didn't have many in the village I'm from. Everyone here is usually a lot nicer."

"Ohhh. Okay." Pommy begins digging a new home in the ground for his petunias. "Well, then, Pommy will be another friend for Link! Everyone should have friends."

"Great!" He grins brightly, watching as Pommy digs. "I have a lot more here than I did there. Some of them are sort of like having a family now."

[bemyused]

Pommy ponders this. "A family, huh? Pommy's not quite sure what it's like to have a family." He's sure he had something like it at some point, but he can't remember. "But that's okay, because Pommy has a lot of friends! So Pommy doesn't get lonely."

It definitely seems like they have something in common, then. "I never had a family in Hyrule either," he explains, "The Deku Sprout said they died when I was a baby. But there was an experiment here where everyone had families so I could see what it was like, and there's people that are still sort of like my family now."

Tsuzuki remains an older brother, Giles is practically a father... Vivi, the little girl this garden is for, is still a little sister.

Pommy supposes Bomberman is his "family" now, and Sheba too. But again, since he can't really remember what it's like to have a family, he's not sure whether that's true or not. "That sounds nice," he says. "The experiments aren't all bad, then, huh?"

"Some of them are okay," he nods in agreement, "I liked the one when I got turned into Navi - she's my fairy friend - and then my horse Epona. Being able to fly and run really fast is really fun!"

[bemyused]

Pommy nods, now trying to dig the petunias out of the pot they're in. "Pommy's flown before, it's a lot of fun!" Technically, it wasn't him doing the flying -- Lilith was holding him as she flew. But still, it was flying, and it was fun for Pommy!

"Uh huh! When did you get to fly?" Here, Link can help with that - he levers in his own trowel, helping to lift the petunias out neatly.

[bemyused]

"Oh, thank you!" Pommy says. With Link's help, he safely maneuvers the petunias into the ground. "A friend of Pommy's can fly, and she carried Pommy for a little while, myu."

"That would be fun," Link says almost absently, checking the petunias are snug. "Navi's too little for that - she's only about this big." Sitting back on his heels, he holds his fingers a couple of inches apart.

[bemyused]

"That's way too small!" Pommy agrees. He pats the dirt around the petunias with a pink foot. "Okay! This looks good, doesn't it, Link?"

"It looks great!" Link grins encouragingly, giving the soil a good-luck pat of his own. "Do you want to plant something else, or have something to eat?"

[bemyused]

Pommy thinks this over. "Myu, we can plant another flower," he decides. He smiles widely. "But this one will be for Link, so Link should choose a flower he likes!"

"Okay," he agrees readily, considering for a moment. "I think I know. They're called fairy cups in Hyrule, but they're called crocuses here. Maybe if I plant some, fairies will come here!"

[bemyused]

"Myu, that's so cool! Pommy's never met a fairy before." Pommy runs back to where all the different plants are, and starts looking for these things called "crocuses".

Link follows him back with a smile - he knows he saw a packet of seeds when setting up that morning, he just doesn't know if someone's already claimed them.

Ah - there they were. He holds up a packet, the front showing cheerful purple flowers. "I found some! We have fairies all through the forest. My friend Navi, the one who flies, is a fairy."

Pommy takes a look at the flowers. "They're nice, but...why are they called fairy cups? Do fairies use them for drinking?"

...That's a good question. "I don't know, they've just always been called that," he shrugs. "Although sometimes they get a bit of water in them if it rains, I guess the fairies can drink out of them then."
