Where: Outside the Welcome Centre
Summary: Finally, the time has come to get Luceti's memory garden on the road.

Early on Sunday morning, Link can be found outside the Welcome Centre - gathering seedlings and seed packets, setting aside a willow sapling, laying out gardening tools. When it's still fairly early by the standards of most people, especially for a Sunday morning in summer, the following message will go out over the journals:

"Hi, everyone! D'you remember the garden I talked about earlier? Well, all the beds have been dug and I've got lots of plants, so come over to the Welcome Centre today and plant something for your friends that have gone home!"

If anyone heads on over, they'll find Link sitting back and relaxing, keeping an eye on the piles of gardening implements, small pots of seedlings and packets of seeds and a collection of bulbs, and a large sheet of paper and bundle of pencils. Across the top of the paper, the words, 'Leave a message for friends!' is written, and Link has already written the first message - 'Hi Vivi, I hope you like the gardens! Love Link'.

There will be snack runs over the course of the day. And if he can convince certain people, live music. Remembering friends, being outside on a sunny day (refreshing after yesterday's storm!), nice food, and music - what could be better?

"Thank you, Pommy!" She takes the punch and sips it. Oh, my, she hadn't realized how thirsty she was. "This is very good."

Pommy agrees with a nod of his head. "The food in Luceti is really good!" He glances off into the distance. "But Pommy misses some of the food from Diamond City."

"Do you?" she asks sympathetically. "What kind of food is there in Diamond City?"

[bemyused]

"All kinds, really." Pommy thinks this over. "Pommy really liked Sheba's food, though. It was spicy and sweet!"

It takes Grune a moment to remember who Sheba is, but when she does, she smiles. "She really sounds like a very nice person."

[bemyused]

"Yep!" Pommy nibbles away at a cookie. "What sort of food does Grune like, anyway?"

Seeing Pommy eat reminds her of the drink in her hand, and she takes another sip.

"Oh, I like all kinds of food. It's all so good!"

She has the kind of tastebuds that would have her happily eating offerings from the worst of disaster chefs, so that rather helps with her enjoyment of everything.

"Myu, there's a lot of good food," Pommy says, nodding his head. "But was there something that Grune really liked from back home?"

"Hmm.... I liked Harriet's cooking. She was very good."

...Actually, she was terrible. The only other person besides Grune to eat her food was her father, out of deep, self-sacrificing love.

[bemyused]

Pommy's not deterred by Grune's vague, general answers. "What sorts of things did Harriet cook?"

He should be, because vague and general are what she does best.

"Oh, all kinds of delicious things. She was always trying something new." And burning it beyond recognition.

[bemyused]

"Challenges are good," Pommy says, nodding. Not like he'd know personally -- the critter almost always tries to take the easy way out of things. "Does Grune miss Harriet's cooking?"

[lostinmyway]

"Hmm.... A little. But Stella is a very good cook, too." And it's a crime to put her on the same level as Harriet, as far as culinary skills go.

[bemyused]

"Myu, Grune's so lucky to know so many awesome cooks!" Pommy glances off into the distance for a moment. "It's nice to be able to make good food, but it's a lot of work, too."

[lostinmyway]

"Yes, it is, but then when you're done, you get tasty food you can share with your friends." Even if it weren't fun to cook, that would make everything worthwhile.

[bemyused]

"That's true. But we could always just buy food." You know, except for the times when you can't for whatever reason.

[lostinmyway]

"Oh, but it's much more fun to make it yourself. And it makes your friends happy to know you're thinking about them."

...As long as you can keep your mind on your baking, anyway.

[bemyused]

"Does it?" Pommy thinks this over. "Well, Bomberman always seems to be happy that Sheba cooks for him."

[lostinmyway]

"Cooking delicious food is a way of showing your friends that you love them," she says, smiling.

[bemyused]

"Myu, Pommy never thought of it that way." He looks up at Grune. "Can Grune show Pommy how to cook sometime?"

[lostinmyway]

"Oh, I'd love to teach you how to cook! It would be so much fun!"

As long as Fenimore supervised, anyway.

[bemyused]

Pommy mews. "That sounds great! Pommy hasn't taken any cooking lessons in a while." Then again, it's hard to cook when you can't even reach the kitchen counter. "But Pommy's sure Grune will be a great teacher!"

[lostinmyway]

"Thank you, Pommy!" She beams at him. "I'll do my best!"

[bemyused]

With a smile, Pommy finishes his cookie, and grabs his own trowel to start planting some of the other flowers waiting beside Grune.

And together, while they may not be the best at planning, they're still able to make the memorial garden beautiful out of sheer enthusiasm.
