Where: Outside the Welcome Centre
Summary: Finally, the time has come to get Luceti's memory garden on the road.

Early on Sunday morning, Link can be found outside the Welcome Centre - gathering seedlings and seed packets, setting aside a willow sapling, laying out gardening tools. When it's still fairly early by the standards of most people, especially for a Sunday morning in summer, the following message will go out over the journals:

"Hi, everyone! D'you remember the garden I talked about earlier? Well, all the beds have been dug and I've got lots of plants, so come over to the Welcome Centre today and plant something for your friends that have gone home!"

If anyone heads on over, they'll find Link sitting back and relaxing, keeping an eye on the piles of gardening implements, small pots of seedlings and packets of seeds and a collection of bulbs, and a large sheet of paper and bundle of pencils. Across the top of the paper, the words, 'Leave a message for friends!' is written, and Link has already written the first message - 'Hi Vivi, I hope you like the gardens! Love Link'.

There will be snack runs over the course of the day. And if he can convince certain people, live music. Remembering friends, being outside on a sunny day (refreshing after yesterday's storm!), nice food, and music - what could be better?

"No, just one friend here."

It's true. Ganondorf is definitely not a friend.

"Maybe more of your friends will come soon."

"I hope so," he says softly. "Especially Saria and Navi."

She's heard the name of Saria before--she thinks--but she doesn't remember the other one. "Navi? Is she a very good friend of yours?"

"Uh huh!" He's smiling fondly as he recounts his tale. "When I was a kid, the Great Deku Tree sent her to me so we could try to save him. Then, when I left Hyrule, she came as well. And we had adventures together - she always looked out for me and told me what monsters' weak points were."

"Oh, my." At his smile, hers grows. "You must be so happy to have her as a friend."

He nods. Emphatically. "Uh huh. I really hope she comes here!"

"I do, too. I'd love to meet her!" Then they could be good friends, too!

They'd probably get on like a house on fire. "Well, if she comes, I'll introduce you!" He grins - he can't imagine why anyone wouldn't love to meet Navi!

"I can't wait!" she exclaims, then adds, "Maybe I can introduce you to my friends, too!"

"Okay," he says contentedly - he's always happy to make more friends. "Do you mean the ones here?"

"Yes, and when my other friends got here, you can meet them too!"

She smiles at the thought. She just knows Link and her friends will become very close.

"Okay! Do you have many from home?" Link... has more than he thought of, at first. Huh. Not just Saria and Navi - he'd also love to see Malon, or Darunia.

"Oh, yes. Chloe and Will and Senel and Shirley are still at home, but Norma and Moses and Jay are here right now. I'm very glad they're here," she says, and the thought of all her friends softens her smile, just a little.

"Maybe I can meet them here, huh?" he says with a quick smile. "And you can meet Sheik! He has ears like mine and blonde hair and red eyes."

"Oh, that sounds like a very good idea. Maybe we could all go on a picnic together!"

Picnics are always a good idea.

"Okay!" A picnic definitely sounds good! "I'll invite Sheik and Tsuzuki and Hijiri and Hisoka -" If he has to - "And Foot and Giles, okay?"

"Oh, yes, I'm sure Giles would love to come, too!"

This is going to be so much fun!

"You know Giles too, huh?"

Quick, let's go smother him with attention and derp!

"Yes, he's a very good friend. He made me my necklace." She lifts her seashell necklace slightly to show him. "Is he your friend, too?"

She doesn't realize how redundant her question is. Regardless, Grune would be very much down with this plan!

He peers at it, smiling. "That's pretty. Uh huh, he's a really good friend too. He teaches me guitar and looks out for me and we go walking and everything."

If Link had the familial experience to be able to make the comparison, he'd be able to tell Grune that Giles is practically the father he never had.

She nods with a little more emphasis than usual. "He's very kind, isn't he?"

Grune doesn't usually give roles to the people she considers family, but that doesn't matter: undefined role or not, Giles is very firmly in that category by now.

Link's smile is fond. "Yeah, he is. I'm really glad I met him."

Leaf wars in front of house 49.

Her smile matches his. "So am I."

Lying back and watching the clouds together.

"Some of the people here..." He's thoughtful, a little. "I wouldn't want to go home without them. They're like family, now."
