Summary: What's a summer without going on a trip to the beach at least once?
Rating: PG13+? Depends, really.

[When one enters the beach, if they're the type of people to make beelines for food as soon as they step into a party, they'll notice that there are a few tables set up with a bunch of snacks laid about, along with a giant cooler residing at the end of the table. There's a barbecue going on too, though it'll be self-serve if you're hungry.]

[Otherwise, there's a bunch of sporting equipment laying about. A Frisbee, a few volleyball nets... Whatever you'd like to be there! Don't forget, there's always swimming in the ocean, too.]

[OK. The first time he cut in front of her wave, it was kind of annoying.

The second time? It was downright irritating.

The third time, Katara's had it. She reaches out and - for a moment, but a moment's all she needs - stops the wave he's riding.]

[bamfing]

[Hey, don't be hating just because you're like the slowest surfer ever.

When the wave suddenly stops, he loses all momentum and starts to wipe out. His saving grace is that he lowers his stand to crouch on all fours on the board, teleporting both him and his implement with him.

And then he reappears in the air over Katara, facing the opposite direction, to go land in the waves she's not freezing.]

[The wave starts to move immediately he teleports - she has to give him props for fast reflexes, at least.]

Hey!

[To get his attention]

[bamfing]

[That brings him to a stop and he rides out the rest of his wave to join her.]

Hey Katara! [He's eyeing her 'board' now.] Doesn't that freeze your feet?

It's not ice, it's water. And speaking of which... [She dips her foot over to the side and splashes at him (Pure kick reaction, no bending here)]

You're not the only one in it, you know! [She's smiling a little, but clearly serious.] You keep teleporting in front of me.

[bamfing]

[He raises his hand to shield some of the water away, but wisely opts not to splash back. For now.]

Really? I didn't even see you!

Try to keep a better eye out next time, all right?

[bamfing]

I'll do better than that. I want to see some of your moves. Waterbending and surfing has got to be way cooler than what I was doing.

[Flattering her bending? You are restored to 'cool person' status.]

There are some pretty fun things you can do on the waves like this.

[Baby, he never left it.]

I'll bet. I mean, I wouldn't be nearly as good without my teleporting, yeah? I'm just an amateur.

[Pff] Just because you're using an ability in order to help you do something doesn't make what you're doing any more or less impressive than anything else. It's all about how you use what you've got.

[bamfing]

Hah... try telling that to Principal Kelly.

Who?

[bamfing]

The principal at Bayville High... the school I go to. He's ahh... not exactly a fan of mutants and especially of our powers.

[Given the sorts of things he's gone through...]

Huh. [And in something that would surely astonish others, Katara... lets it go.

The beach is apparently no place to discuss horrors they can't change.]

I guess you'll just have to prove him differently, then.

[And she takes off to race to the curve of a wave!]

[He's all good for that. He carefully keeps his balance on his board before watching. She's certainly impressive. Those are a lot better waves than he was catching.]
