Summary: What's a summer without going on a trip to the beach at least once?
Rating: PG13+? Depends, really.

[When one enters the beach, if they're the type of people to make beelines for food as soon as they step into a party, they'll notice that there are a few tables set up with a bunch of snacks laid about, along with a giant cooler residing at the end of the table. There's a barbecue going on too, though it'll be self-serve if you're hungry.]

[Otherwise, there's a bunch of sporting equipment laying about. A Frisbee, a few volleyball nets... Whatever you'd like to be there! Don't forget, there's always swimming in the ocean, too.]

But the clothing store is back in the village. [Which is such a long way away.] And besides, I have no idea what sort of clothing would be adequate in this situation~ [If he couldn't teleport like an awesome blue thing, she would have walked off long ago. Accept her protests already!]

I can take passengers when I teleport, you know.

[He's not going to force her into it, though. But he sort of enjoys this sort of thing.]

Ah, well you should have mentioned that sooner rather than neglecting such a detail.

[She wants to keep subtly protesting, but it dawns on her that if humans can do it, albeit blue fuzzy ones, surely she can too. Plus getting in the water would serve to cool her down, it being hot and all. But still, pretty unsure over here.]

On a scale of one to ten, one being a complete waste of time and ten being a worthwhile and fun pursuit, where exactly would you rate this surf board? [What is surfing.]

[This is because Kurt is the master of persuasion. Or something. He's pleasantly surprised to see he's changing her mind.]

I'd put it at about eleven. [Sorry Yuuka, he's a teenager at heart.]

[All the way up to eleven? ...Well if she doesn't like it she can always find out where he lives and grow flowers all over his house for wasting her time. Or maim him a little.]

Off the scale, I see. [The reference goes right over her head.] I suppose I could entertain the idea for now. What is the term you humans use, 'can't knock it until you've tried it', yes?

[If so, well, he's got a lot of teleporting to do.]

[How this previously mentioned teleporting thing is going to work has her curious. Looking expectantly at you now Kurt.]

[Well then! He holds out his hand for her to take.]

[She steps forward and places her hand on his, gripping it tightly.]

I believe so.

[And then they vanish! When they reappear, they are in a metal dome. It's the teleporter to the barracks. Given Kurt can only 'port in one mile bursts (if he pushes himself hard), it's far more convenient to use what's already available. The moment they are inside, he immediately activates it... bringing them to the barracks. If she's going to question that, she won't have much time, because the last 'port puts them in the clothing store.

If she was a normal human, this would have her feeling dizzy, nauseous, and drained. If she was a normal human, anyway.]

[Just as well she isn't because she's feeling fine and dandy! Or as fine and dandy as a human hating, garden loving youkai can be anyway.]

Amazing, simply amazing. Such an incredible ability, and much faster than how the border youkai seems to do things~ [Someone from her home world could teleport too, but it required opening portals and all sorts of messing around... Oh, wait, where was that just now? Yes yes, they're in a clothing shop now, but before then.] Just moments ago, we weren't at the beach, nor were we here at the clothing shop. Where were we exactly~?

[Border youkai. He's left to ponder what those even are.]

That was the teleport machine to the ocean. It goes from the ocean fort to the barracks. Isn't that how you got to the ocean?

No, of course not. I had no idea such apparatus existed before now.

[She had actually flown over whilst looking around and ended up landing on the beach, but you know what, that's a boring explanation.]

I walked over the mountains. Quite the leisurely stroll too~ Shame about the heat however, it's truly sweltering.

[Yup, walked. Such a believable lie. Anyway, she'll just browse through what the shop has on offer, heck if she knows what to look for.]

Yeah, seriously. That's a long way to walk. [He's a bit stunned and surprised at that. But, well, some people are just like that.]

Indeed. [Pushing through racks of swimwear, not really looking for anything in particular... Taking it off the rack she holds it up so to look over it, as well as showing it off to Kurt in the process.] Would this be sufficient~? I'm not too bothered what I wear, though I would like to consider this a preference.

[Given she looks too young for him to suggest anything skimpier, he'll agree to that.] Yeah, that's perfect!

Very well, one moment. [With that she walks off to find the changing rooms. She returns a minute or so later wearing the swimsuit with her clothing tucked under her arm.] I'm not sure I see any appeal in this sort of clothing, though it seems like most people would wear such things to a beach~
[Oh, she puts her parasol back up too, twirling it in her hands idly.]

Ahh, well, I think it looks good anyway. You look great. [Always with the flattery.] It'll be a lot better for swimming, trust me. You don't want to go in there wearing a bunch of clothes.

I believe you are correct. This material is light weight and porous so less water will be trapped if I get wet, whereas my other clothing was cloth and wool, meaning it would retain more water should it ever get splashed. [What is flattery when you can assess the appropriateness of swimwear over everyday clothes.] Shall we return now then~?

Ahh, right, of course. [He holds out his hand again.]

Ready?

Indeed~ [And taking his hand again.]

[All that stuff that happened before? Well it does that again and now they're back at the beach, just where they left. The surf board is even still the same distance away.]

And here we are! Welcome back to the beach and I hope you enjoyed the Nightcrawler Express.

[Whoosh, teleporting. Still quite impressive the second time over. Being out on the beach now she can already feel the difference from changing before. Those stuffy clothes were boiling.]

It was an interesting ride, my gratitude goes out to the conductor. [Wait.] What's 'the Nightcrawler'? I understand you were making a reference towards locomotives, but... [Explaining the joke ruins it Yuuka, stop it.]

Nightcrawler is my code name. It's ahh... because I crawl on walls and am best at night time. Nothing to do with the bug, trust me.

[People always make that mistake.]

A code name? What an interesting concept. In that case should I refer to you as such then, or is there something else you'd rather have me call you than 'Nightcrawler'? And do not worry, the insect did not even cross my mind. Nightcrawlers would probably experience great difficulty in attempting to pollinate my flowers anyway~ [Gardening on the mind 24/7.]
