What:A long overdue dinner and a gathering of friends, new and old.
When: Early evening, Wednesday, September 14th
Where: CH 7, kitchen/dining area of floor 4 and maybe 5
Summary: A month ago, Ginia promised Giles, Frederic, and Helios dinner. Now that they're all finally back, and with new friends joining them, it's time to eat!
Rating: PG, PG-13ish if people want to get cuddly.

As discussed, no posting order due to all the people involved. First thread is cooking and set-up, second is for the actual dinner. If you want to do a specific thread (like Helios blowing something up), put any pertinant info in the subject. Timeline is roughly chronological, thread jump at will, and have fun! Prose or action tags are good.

...And let's not set CH7 on fire.

Yet. Let's keep it at "yet", shall we?

"Fair enough. I did the same. Had to wait for the stores to restock the steak." He looks up from unpacking the bags and smiles fondly at both of them.

"It does. Very nice. We should, um, try to do this more often."
folklorist: (I suppose that works)

"Oh and we can dress up and everything for that." There's a derpy smile on his face, like the prospect is one Helios would likely consider doing. Barring the horrible experiment that may or may not happen? Yes it could wind up being nice. But it's Luceti there's no way of knowing, really.

"Thanksgiving sounds better, actually. And then there's Christmas..." Hum. So many things to prepare for and think about.

"Hopefully in rather more...manageable costumes than last year."

Pigeon costume, Helios. Remember what it is that you're potentially suggesting.

"I'd rather do Thanksgiving. I've, um, had to miss Thanksgiving the last couple of years, a-and I'm rather looking forward to it."

Even if nothing might happen with Buffy...well, as far as Giles is concerned, he has plenty of family around him here and now.
folklorist: (Ever so curious)

[personal profile] folklorist 2011-09-26 01:12 pm (UTC)(link)
"Ah, er, y-yes. M-Manageable costumes would be nice." He remembers okay? Not the best choice in the world but he...got used to it, sorta. Except when he started to molt that was just...not good for the apartment. Helios looks over at the two of them.

"Thanksgiving would be nice. Perhaps we could even have a town wide feast of some sort. Luceti does keep up the whole coming to a new world business." Aside from the locals trying to kill them and probably never eating with them. But such is reality and they had to make the most of it, didn't they?

"I'm not sure actually."

"True enough. Especially, um, going by the American standards of the tale. Of course, ideally, we'd have the Malnosso with us. Under those circumstances, the festivities might be spoiled somewhat by multiple murder attempts.

With just us here in the village, though? I think that could be quite nice."
folklorist: (I suppose that works)

[personal profile] folklorist 2011-09-30 01:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"The Malnosso seemed to have in the past. Ah, well, for the year I've been here at least." He taps his fork against his plate, thinking.

"No, wait. That was...around the time we changed into various creatures I believe."

His expression brightens just a little remembering the bakery fiasco and well...it was a nice memory to say the least. Then again Giles had gone home at some point afterwards as well. "Always seem to be two sides to this place. But I guess that can be said for anywhere really. As far as experiments go though? I hardly call that the, um, worst of them." Halloween had been so much more hideous and mortifying hence the not going into it and just letting it off into silence. He stops that tapping taking a bite of some food.

"Which experiment changing us into various creatures in particular are you referring to?"

Giles remembered his last talk with Helios before being sent home - his last truly good or happy moment in Luceti before being turned a few hours later.

"Because if it's the one I'm thinking of, I'd have called that particular experiment catastrophic."
folklorist: (Oh is that right)

[personal profile] folklorist 2011-10-03 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
"The one where I got turned into a dragon. The horror of not being able to fit inside the bakery. It was terrible let me tell you." He uses his fork to point at them.

"One of my greatest fears. Not being able to reach sweets." He is totally serious about this too guys.

"I didn't mind flying or breathing fire though. I learned rather a lot about dragons that's for sure." More than he would have ever have liked to.

"But! Ah. I-It wasn't too bad after, um, October. Christmas was...pleasant." Helios still doesn't manage to hide that frown. Giles had left after all.

"Christmas was very pleasant."

Said without missing much of a beat. Buffy had mentioned that, for once, the Malnosso had gone easy on them last year. It's part of what gives Giles hope that the same might hold true this year.

"Very nice. Catherine gave everyone gifts."
folklorist: (Peaceful: You wanted to talk?)

[personal profile] folklorist 2011-10-04 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
Helios blinks at that holding up his hands and shaking his head. "You-you don't have to get me anything, Ginia. I think spending time with friends a-and family during the holidays is just as good as any present if not better." Mainly friends though because he hasn't had too many chances to spend it with family for the past few years. Hard to spend holidays with family when you're terrified of the only family member you have.

[personal profile] consultmybooks 2011-10-04 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Does that mean I have to give your present back, then? That's a shame. I was quite pleased with it."

Just a light nudge to the ribs, Helios, and a slightly teasing smile.
folklorist: (Curiousity killed the cat you know?)

[personal profile] folklorist 2011-10-04 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
Helios sways with that nudge smiling a bit more. "Hm. I don't know about that. It'd be rude of me not to accept it before even seeing it, since you've gotten it already. And I'm sure I would be as well." Just a smirk as he looks back at Giles.

Ginia's snapping gets his attention along with what she signs. "Oh? You do? I...ah w-well." He tries to conceal that intrigue and slight tinge of excitement.

"If you, if you wanted. Come to think of it...I usually got half my presents on my birthday and half on Christmas as it is." The joys of being born in December.
consultmybooks: (Attentive)

[personal profile] consultmybooks 2011-10-04 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
"When is your birthday, Helios?"

...seeing as how he was sent back three days before it, this was a matter they never got sorted last time around.
folklorist: (Never seen anything like it)

[personal profile] folklorist 2011-10-04 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
"Ah! Oh. It's December fifteenth. I-I never told you?" Just a sheepish laugh. He's so positively absentminded sometimes. Helios gives Ginia and Giles a side glance. Helios never did find out Giles' either, huh. And of course there is Ginia's too.

"You do realize neither of you have told me yours. It's only fair, you know?" Just a smile.
consultmybooks: (Giles is Amused)

[personal profile] consultmybooks 2011-10-04 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
"You never did. Seeing as how we've spent most of our time since I came back well away from December, though, I suppose you can be forgiven."

Then, without even missing a beat: "Yes, Ginia, why don't you tell us when your birthday is?"
folklorist: (Oh is that right)

[personal profile] folklorist 2011-10-04 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well I'm grateful that you're so willing to forgive." Just a smirk. Helios nods at Giles.

"You're not getting out of this, you know. You might as well say it or I fear Ginia might not get a birthday present for the simple fact of never stating hers. And we just can't have that, can we?" He looks back at Ginia that smirk widening a little. He gives Giles a most expectant look. He'll be tapping a finger on the table as he does so.

Giles looks positively aghast at this. "Good Lord, there's no need to get nasty about it. I was just about to say."

...even so, there's some further hesitation, some further fussing with the plates, before he speaks again.

"May eleventh."
