A time for merriment and laughter

Who: Everyone in Luceti!
What: The annual musical rendition of A Midsummer Night's Dream that everyone's been waiting for with the party!
When: From 8:00 pm to later into the night.
Where: At the school gym/auditorium and the cafeteria.
Summary: The big time for the play has come, time to put it on then party!
Rating: G to PG-13 at best.

When the audience entered the school gym, there will be a large stage set up with tons of chairs for everyone to sit in. After all were seated, the play began and everything was wonderful for the most part, there were some minor slip-ups here and there. Yet overall, the play was a success. Once the party had finished and the encores were done however, Frederic came out on the stage to make a speech.

"Good evening everyone, thank you for coming out tonight on this glorious occasion. To everyone involved and to all of you our wonderful audience, it has been a pleasure seeing and being with all of you. Now if everyone will turn to the school cafeteria, we can all dine together."

The door to the school cafeteria then opened to reveal a beautiful nature setting with decorations galore all over the place. There will also be a very large table with much food on it with drinks for guests and cast/crew to eat, drink, and be merry. Tonight is a night for celebration, everyone will celebrate with happiness in their hearts.

"Fuuko will forgive you this time then!"

It seems even people from other worlds have a hard time telling they're starfish right off the bat. Perhaps she should look into carving them differently so they're a little more 'fish' and a little less 'star'.

...Nah. No point in changing the design now. They're perfect just the way they are.

"It was difficult, very difficult! Apparently it didn't look like a Nue... But it was the best Fuuko could do."

"Well, um, wood carving is a very difficult sort of skill. My friends and I were quite good at it, back home, and we couldn't carve anything like a star."
starfishlovesyou: (Whassis?)

[personal profile] starfishlovesyou 2011-09-19 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
"How terrible, not being able to carve the shape of a starfish!! If you couldn't carve starfish, what sort of things did you make? I doubt they were as great as the starfish of course!"

Wait, no, that's not a very friendly thing to say...

"Ah. Fuuko said something rude out of habit. Sorry, Fuuko is sure your carvings were on par with the starfish!"
consultmybooks: (Giles is Amused)

[personal profile] consultmybooks 2011-09-19 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Giles can't help but laugh, at this, before waving off the girl's concern. "No, Fuuko, it's fine. They, um, they most certainly weren't anything like a starfish. But they suited our needs, and we were, um, generally happy enough with them."

Although now she's got him thinking. If they could carve a starfish and sharpen all five ends, would that be more effective against a vampire than a single stake?

...probably something to mention to Buffy, if he wasn't damn sure she'd laugh herself sick at the idea.
starfishlovesyou: (Oh oh oh)

"They weren't like starfish? Does that mean they weren't any sort of sea life? Or even an animal?" Now she's interested. What else could you possibly carve from wood? "What exactly did you used to make then? Fuuko is curious..."

"If they suited your needs... Did you perhaps carve furniture? That must take a lot of determination, carving each part of a chair or bench, or whatever furniture you made!" Not even considering the idea of wood being carved into some dangerous. Like a weapon. Nope.

[personal profile] consultmybooks 2011-09-20 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
"No, not any sort. Sea life or animal. Or furniture, I'm afraid. If we couldn't care a starfish, we certainly couldn't manage furniture.

...unless you count fence posts as furniture."

Sure. Close enough. It was how they'd explained themselves to plenty of people that wandered in at the wrong time.
starfishlovesyou: (Doodeedoo)

[personal profile] starfishlovesyou 2011-09-20 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
"Fence posts? Is that all, fence posts?" Aw, she was expecting something exciting. "Not that there's anything wrong with fence posts, Fuuko is sure that your fence posts were some of the best around."

"Fuuko could always show you how to carve more things if you're interested."
consultmybooks: (Blase)

[personal profile] consultmybooks 2011-09-20 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
"Really?"

Hm. Well, it's a skill. It's a way to pass the time. Giles nods.

"I would greatly appreciate it, Fuuko."
starfishlovesyou: (This is a fact)

[personal profile] starfishlovesyou 2011-09-20 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
"Good, Fuuko is pleased you have chosen to learn more about carving. Before long you'll be able to carve more than just fence posts!"

Looking around quickly. A party probably isn't the best place to break out the blocks of wood and craft knives.

"Please tell Fuuko your name! Then maybe we can keep in contact and Fuuko can come over some time to teach you."

"It's Giles. If you want to find me, I live over in Community Building Seven. Fifth floor. Room twenty two. But, um, I also work by the library, and sometimes I'm out by the river."
starfishlovesyou: (Weird guy hurr)

[personal profile] starfishlovesyou 2011-09-20 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
"If you work by the library then Fuuko would not want to disturb you when you are busy!"

Her sister didn't appreciate being disturbed when working, so she can assume other people wouldn't like being bothered when they're working either.

"Fuuko will remember your name, Giles-san, and will come visit some day! If that's alright of course. Fuuko will make sure to bring lots of wood so we can practice for a long time!"
consultmybooks: (Hold On)

[personal profile] consultmybooks 2011-09-20 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
"Perfectly all right, Fuuko. Is, um, is there anything I should do for when you stop by? Anything you need for carving wood besides...well, wood?"
starfishlovesyou: (GASP)

[personal profile] starfishlovesyou 2011-09-20 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
"Craft knives are a must! Also, lots of newspaper to put down too. You don't want to damage the table you're working on, or any other furniture after all!"

Hmmm, what else. Normally she just sets herself down at a table and starts carving away, so it's pretty interesting thinking about what other people would need.

"Depending on what you make, something to keep your creations in, like a box! Or maybe a bag too. Fuuko keeps all the starfish in a bag to carry around you see."
consultmybooks: (Attentive)

[personal profile] consultmybooks 2011-09-21 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
Which raises another pertinent question...

"And, um, what do you do with the starfish in a bag?"
starfishlovesyou: (Look back at you)

[personal profile] starfishlovesyou 2011-09-21 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
"Fuuko used to hand them out as a way of inviting people to onee-chan's wedding, and would carry them around in a bag!"

That was back home. Now of course she has a bag of starfish without much to do with them.

"Sometimes, Fuuko gives the starfish to nice people here. Maybe later Fuuko could start using the starfish as a way of inviting people to the Starfish Festival!"

Yup, Starfish Festival.
consultmybooks: (Hold On)

[personal profile] consultmybooks 2011-09-24 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
"I...don't think I've ever heard of the Starfish Festival."

Starfish Festival? Really? Anyway, Giles attempts to sound as politely interested as possible at the idea.

"It, um, probably doesn't exist, back home."
starfishlovesyou: (Staaarfiiish)

[personal profile] starfishlovesyou 2011-09-24 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
"The Starfish Festival doesn't exist back in my home either! Fuuko wanted to start a Starfish Festival however, though it would require lots of planning in order to pull off the proper tribute to the starfish."

And now, an explanation of what would exist in a Starfish Festival courtesy of Fuuko.

"There would be lots of dancers! And drummers too, so there would also be lots of music! People would be able to wear starfish shaped masks and dress up as starfish too, though it wouldn't be necessary to attend. Also, stalls! Lots of stalls selling starfish shaped souvenirs and sweets! There could even be a little pool set aside for petting the starfish, and then another pool full of fake, spongy starfish that you would have to pull out by dunking your head into it and grabbing the fake starfish with your mouth--"

As great as this long and incredibly informative speech is, Fuuko ends up stopping half way through. Her eyes turn glossy and her speech becomes airy as she visits her own inner-mind Starfish Festival.

"Aaaahaaaaah~ Ahahahaha~ The starfish~ Hwaaah~"
consultmybooks: (Hold On)

[personal profile] consultmybooks 2011-09-24 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Giles could imagine it. And he'd seen a great many things in his life - vampires, demons, the end of the world, then end of the universe.

None, there and then, were quite so deeply disturbing as the mental picture Fuuko was painting. Or the fact that her own expression was one of apparently utter bliss at the thought.

Still...

"Well, um, perhaps you can put it on here some day."
starfishlovesyou: (OHLOL STARFISH)

[personal profile] starfishlovesyou 2011-09-24 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, Fuuko intends to someday, and it will be a wonderful day for everyone and the starfish! ...Is what she would have said were she not still in her own little trance.

"Uwaaaaaaahahaaaah~ So wonderfuuul~ Eeeeheeeeeh~"
consultmybooks: (At Peace)

[personal profile] consultmybooks 2011-09-24 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Giles, after taking in this trance for a few seconds longer, pats Fuuko on the head and goes off to get her some more juice. If she's still not out of it by the time he gets back, then he'll resume pacing the party.
starfishlovesyou: (I am taken aback by these words)

[personal profile] starfishlovesyou 2011-09-24 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hwaaaaahaaaa~" Oh, head pat. That brings her out of it.

"Fuuko dreamt the starfish festival was happening right now, it was incredible-- Huh?" So she can't help but notice she's no longer talking to anyone... She'll turn a full circle as she looks around herself. "Did he disappear right under Fuuko's nose?!"
consultmybooks: (Attentive)

[personal profile] consultmybooks 2011-09-24 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, Fuuko. Yes he did. No worries, though, he comes back. With juice.

"Sorry." Passing the cup over now. "You seemed to be enjoying yourself, and I didn't want to disturb you."
starfishlovesyou: (Jus lookin)

[personal profile] starfishlovesyou 2011-09-24 07:16 pm (UTC)(link)
So that's where he was- Ooh, juice! How kind.

"Thank you, Giles-san. Fuuko can only be happy that in this weakened state no one tried to shoot juice up Fuuko's nose!" It's happened. A few times at that.
consultmybooks: (Tea is Called For)

[personal profile] consultmybooks 2011-09-25 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
...another headpat.

"You can trust me, Fuuko. I would never do something like that, even if you were in a, um...distracted state."
starfishlovesyou: (Shuuto!)

[personal profile] starfishlovesyou 2011-09-25 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
"Thank you, it reassures Fuuko to know that you are not secretly a weird guy who would take advantage of Fuuko like that!"

Some people can be so mean, who would think of doing anything to the poor girl? Honestly.
