What: Battle dome date (sort of)!
When: October 7th, late evening.
Where: The battle dome
Summary: It’s Friday night. What better way to spend it than to go through a bunch of combat simulations?
Rating: Probably no more than PG.
[They had discussed doing this shortly after Kurt came back – a little get-together at the battle dome. It works for Melanie since she needs the practice, and it works as another chance to spend more time with her... what, boyfriend? She’s still not entirely sure what word she should use to describe her relationship with him, but whatever it is, she likes it.

Either way, there wasn’t much of a chance to do this earlier. It would have been way too confusing, what with that bizarre fairytale experiment, but that’s all over and done with and now is as good a time as any. So, Melanie’s outside the dome, wearing her suit and waiting to see where Kurt decides to pop up.]

[Kurt was on his way to the battle dome, dressed up nicely in his X-Men Uniform. He stops when he sees a girl who is apparently the girlfriend of Super Mario Bros. 2's Phanto. Well he was supposed to meet Melanie, but...]

Melanie?

Well, there isn't anybody else here. [She grins. Yes, Kurt, it's her.]

[Wow. That really is her.

First thought? The costume is tight and form fitting. Very pleasing to the eye. The second thought? The look is actually fairly successful at being scary looking. He points at the 10 above her breast.]

So that's your code name? Ten?

Yeah, that's me - the Ten of Spades. [Shrug.] My mom and dad were King and Queen [of course] and Jack was my brother. [And Ace was a human-sized robot.]

It's a cool name and costume. [He grins and then scratches his cheek.] But I don't think you need the mask. No need for a secret identity, yeah?

... I guess you're right. [There really isn't any need for her to hide while in Luceti, after all. So, off goes the mask!]

So. Practice? [It's what they're here for, after all.]

[He smiles once the mask goes. The costume may be cool, but his new 'girlfriend' is a knock out and he likes being able to see her face.]

That depends. I was thinking... I mean, we could do practice... or maybe something a little more interesting?

I like interesting. [She grins and folds her arms over her chest.] What did you have in mind?

Well, you've got a costume and I kind of have one too. What if we did some crime fighting? [Sure, maybe she's an ex-criminal, but that makes it better. She can be on the right side now.]

[Okay, that does sound interesting, regardless of the fact that she used to be a criminal.]

Sounds good to me. I guess now it depends on if we want to take on a bunch of idiot clowns again or some other dregs.

I'm good for anything. Unless you have some cool ideas from Gotham.

[Maybe something more high tech than what he's used to.]

[... There are lots of things from Gotham they could try out. Some interesting, some not so much. Though she thinks of something that could be fun.]

Maybe. You think we could program this thing to simulate a prison break? [Or at least a small-scale one, anyway. Melanie's not entirely sure if she'd be able to program the dome to simulate some of Gotham's more notorious villains, but even if she can't it's no big deal. The amount of random enemies they'd have to take down would still make for a good workout, anyway.]

[Ooh. That gets his attention right there. Now this? This could be really fun.]

Now that is an awesome idea. Let's do it. I'll be the cool, dashing hero that shows up with his sidekick.

[She smirks. Dashing hero? Sure. She's not so sure about the second part, though.]

Since when do you have a sidekick? [Because it sure as hell isn't her. :|]

What, you don't want the job?

[He was kind of kidding about it before, but what's so bad about it? He's superhero material!]

[Kurt is superhero material, yes, but Melanie isn't entirely keen on being a sidekick, simulated or not.]

Sorry, but I don't really think I'm Robin material. [She starts walking ahead.]

Anyway, come on. We've got a prison break to stop, don't we? [Or they will once she programs it, anyway.]

[He follows. But he's going to protest a little more, okay.]

Come on, being Robin isn't that bad! Have you met him? His costume is silly, but he still makes it cool!

Yeah, we've spoken. [Once. And she'd like to keep it that way. Regardless of the fact that there isn't a Robin in the time she's from, Melanie isn't exactly fond of anyone that really associates with Batman. She's reformed, sure, but the whole 'getting caught and sent to prison' thing is still a sore spot.]

[He's sensing that. That's no fun at all. Robin is cool and hip and easy to troll.] If you want to do something out of Gotham, that's cool too. I know some mutants that might make for a good fight. [She'll be disadvantaged to her lack of powers, but the Brotherhood are losers and not that hard to take on.]

Hm. [Give her a minute to think about this.]

Could work. Or maybe we could program it to simulate enemies from both Gotham and Bayville. [That'd make things a lot more difficult, but hey, she's not after anything easy.]

You mean we could put Toad behind bars? I can't say that's the worst idea I've heard. [He likes the sound of this.]

Friend of yours? [Yeah, she's just teasing.]

Anyway, let's get this thing started. [He'll program his, she'll program hers, and then they can get to taking people down.]

I'm on it. I've already taken these guys on a few times in here.

[So he knows exactly what scenarios to access. It's just a matter of dropping them into Melanie's new one.]

[And Melanie will take a bit of time to get the scenario ready, as well as think about just which Gotham criminals she should slip in there as well. Eventually, she settles for programming in Inque. She's just one person and Melanie's never actually fought her, but she's strong and she knows what Inque can do. So her and whatever enemies Kurt decides to work in should be just fine.]

You ready?

[Inque might be too much for even Kurt! But it will certainly be interesting. Seeing that she's done, he nods and starts towards the chamber.]
