Who: Everyone!
What: Thanksgiving + New Feather party.
When: Evening of the 20th.
Where: School cafeteria, nicely done up.
Summary: There's food. And there's also board games, are you game for some Snakes and Ladders?
Rating: Let's put this all over the board. Strange stuff can happen, man.
[Thanksgiving may not be a familiar holiday to most in Luceti, but everyone understands potluck, at least! Hopefully. Preferably.

It's all done buffet-style as usual. Thanksgiving stuff greets you first when you grab a plate and get in line at the buffet lines (food and drink provided by everyone, Thanksgiving stuff courtesy of the Welcome Centre and Ginia). Though of course, don't think that you have to stand in a line while eating! There's tables and chairs for sitting and talking and— eating, obviously. Reach out and grab a drink! If you get one that's been prepared by the Welcome Centre, it's non-alcoholic. Can't really say the same for anything else brought by others, so you may want to be careful. Y'know, just in case.

'course, there's also board games if you're interested in 'em. Just check out that corner over there!]

It isn't until Giles speaks that Grune registers exactly who has been helping her out. Once she does, however, her face just lights up, and she throws her arms around him.

"Giles! Welcome home!"

The hug catches him by surprise, which in and of itself should be a sign that he's still not quite used to being himself again. But it's quite warmly returned once his mind catches up.

"Yes, I'm back. No worse the wear. I missed you."
lostinmyway: (Oh my isn't this lovely?)

[personal profile] lostinmyway 2011-11-22 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
"I missed you, too. Did you have a good trip?"

She can't stop smiling, even more than usual. She's so happy to see him back again.

And he's happy to be back, although...fully explaining just what back means, why he's glad to be back, what happened there...that's probably an effort for another time.

"Yes, I had a very nice trip. We were well looked after, if you can believe it." And then, because kind lies to Grune are hardly lies at all: "We, um, w-we met three children on our way back who said that you'd taken very good care of them."
lostinmyway: (Well....)

[personal profile] lostinmyway 2011-11-22 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
"My, did you get to meet Rupert, Ginia, and Helios? Oh, not the other Ginia and Helios," she corrects herself. "These two were a little younger."

Of course Giles already knows the older Ginia and Helios.

"If you're referring to the three children that just happened to share our name by utter coincidence, then yes, I did. They gave us some of the sweets you baked together. Very nice, by the way, I enjoyed them."

His tone softens slightly. "We met them as they were on their way back home, I'm afraid. But they told me to tell you goodbye, and they enjoyed spending time with you, and...and that they'll be safe."

Her smile this time is a little gentler, and warm. "I'm glad they were able to give you their sweets. They all worked very hard.

"I hope they can come back for a visit someday," she adds with just a hint of wistfulness. "I'm very happy we were able to become friends."

"Perhaps they will, one day. We might even be there to see them. They sound like three fascinating children. I'm sorry I missed Rupert, especially."

Mostly because there's a great deal of advice he'd have given his younger self that might or might not have made a difference.

"I think he really wanted to meet you, because your names are the same." Her expression turns fond. "I know the two of you would be good friends. He's very sweet, and kind, too."

Just like Giles.

"Thank you for taking care of him, Grune. He appreciated it very much."

He takes her hand, briefly, before he passes back the apple crumble spoon. "Still. Um. H-How have you been? Since I've been away, I mean."
lostinmyway: (It's always a sunny day.)

She's glad to hear she made Rupert happy, because he made her happy. She should think of lots of nice things to do with him for when he comes back.

But she can think of them later. Giles' hand around hers draws her attention back to the present, and she answers, "Oh, I've been very good. Seeing all the snow has been a lot of fun! Was it snowing where you were, too?"

"Yes, it was. The three of us had some fun with it.

...it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, you know. Being away, trying out these missions, I mean."

"Did you get to see lots of new places?"

Maybe someday, she should go on one of these missions. They sound like fun!

"A few new places, at least." The inside of the Malnosso facility where they'd found themselves, at least, had been new. And far more pleasant than the facilities they usually found themselves in.

"Still. Always nice to be home."

The smile she gives him is gentle and warm. "I'm glad you're home, too."

She would never say, because she thinks it would make him sad, but she missed him a great deal while he was away--and Ginia and Helios, too. It was nice to have the children to look after, but that didn't mean she had missed her friends any less.

She can't wait for Ginia and Helios to come home, too.
