Who: Everyone!
What: Thanksgiving + New Feather party.
When: Evening of the 20th.
Where: School cafeteria, nicely done up.
Summary: There's food. And there's also board games, are you game for some Snakes and Ladders?
Rating: Let's put this all over the board. Strange stuff can happen, man.
[Thanksgiving may not be a familiar holiday to most in Luceti, but everyone understands potluck, at least! Hopefully. Preferably.
It's all done buffet-style as usual. Thanksgiving stuff greets you first when you grab a plate and get in line at the buffet lines (food and drink provided by everyone, Thanksgiving stuff courtesy of the Welcome Centre and Ginia). Though of course, don't think that you have to stand in a line while eating! There's tables and chairs for sitting and talking and— eating, obviously. Reach out and grab a drink! If you get one that's been prepared by the Welcome Centre, it's non-alcoholic. Can't really say the same for anything else brought by others, so you may want to be careful. Y'know, just in case.
'course, there's also board games if you're interested in 'em. Just check out that corner over there!]

Ah yes. I am from Amestris and work in the military as a state Alchemist. The military is fairly important back home, since we are quite a large country, and some of our neighbors are not very friendly. Things have gotten better recently, which is good.
Where are you from?
no subject
[Lupin grinned at this--at least there was something he could relate with from this man's world. He'd never heard of 'Amestris'. But, if Luke Skywalker was in Luceti, who was to say that there weren't other residents who hailed from other worlds?]
I'm from nowhere near that special. In fact, I've never heard of a place called 'Amestris' where I'm from. We have cities called Tokyo and Paris there.
Also...where I'm from, I tend to avoid military men. They generally don't like me. Our 'careers' are at odds, if you understand my meaning. You seem pretty cool, though. I think I might like hanging out with you.
[He kept his tone light and casual. Admitting that he was an internationally wanted criminal to a military man from another world might not be the best idea for a first meeting. Even if Zenigata wasn't even trying to arrest him here, who knew how Alexander would feel?]
no subject
[Armstrong tilts his head as he considers and listens.]
That is not surprising. From what I have gathered, people are pulled here form many worlds. I have never heard of Tokyo or Paris, but they sound interesting.
I see. [Armstrong gives Lupin a look, but then smiles.] Your career is of no issue to me. After all, it's not like we are from the same worlds. Thievery is not a big deal from what I've heard, anyways.
[Why yes, Armstrong did figure out (most) of what you do Lupin. He only looks slow. It's either that or you're a murderer. Armstrong just choose to give you the benefit of the doubt and go with Thief.]
no subject
But he didn't know too many PMCs who had such a snappy sense of fashion. Brilliant conclusion, Armstrong. He smiled, a little sheepish and a little intrigued.]
Ah, so my career is that obvious huh? Where I come from, theft of the calibur that I'm known for is enough to possibly earn yourself the electric chair. At least, it was for along time. Now I think it's just life in prison....not that a prison's walls can contain me for long.
[He let those words hang in the air, knowing full well that thier stay in Luceti may as well be a lifetime prison sentence. ]
You know, I was right. You are pretty cool, Alex. I can call you Alex, right? Because Alexander Louis Armstrong is a little bit of a mouthfull...[His smile indicated that he could have come up with a much cuter nickname, but chose not to for the sake of good will.] Anyway....
Alchemy. In construction? You mean all of that mixing of chemicals and stuff is good for something other than finding the universal solvent?
no subject
No, not completely obvious. But I am a military man, so perhaps I can tell better.
I see. We imprison most criminals, though some are still executed, depending on the severity of the crime.
[That idea is a bit sobering, but Armstrong is the type to make the best of a bad situation.]
Thank you. No, I do not mind Alex, in fact that would be preferred. My names is a bit long, but I don't feel an introduction is done unless it's included.
Do you have a name you'd be preferred to be called by?
[Armstrong frowns slightly.]
Universal solvent? Anyways Alchemy is more complicated than that. By understand the composition of an object you can change it, as long as you aren't creating something from nothing. I can create statues and walls if needs be. Also used in fighting.
no subject
And Alex? Just call me Lupin. All the best people do. So, you can make statues and walls with your Alchemy, then? Sounds spiffy. You know, I've gotten in trouble for stealing a few statues...[They were large and well known--the Statue of Liberty and Christ the Redeemer, not that Alex would recognize them by name.
He grinned.] And...giving you the details of those would take all night. Combat too for the Alchemy, you say? It's not too rude to ask to see it sometime, is it?
no subject
Lupin it is then. [Alex smile returns full force.] Yes, you can. It's simply a matter of moving matter around.
[Armstrong looks thoughtful.] No, no I wouldn't mind giving a demonstration. However, I use very specific Alchemy in combat with the help of some metal gauntlets. I have heard item's from home appear here, but I haven't found them yet. Could I trouble you to keep an eye out for them? They are steel gray with circle and triangle engraved on the outside. Very distinctive.
Without those, I can still show some regular alchemy however.
no subject
And don't worry--if I see any gauntlets that fit that description, I'll grab them for you. [There's a rougish wink there--no specification as to how he was going to get them.
Items did indeed appear from the person's homeworld. Lupin himself had already attained his signature Walther P38 and his favorite jacket. Distinctive gauntlets would be much easier to find than a classic semiautomatic and a brightly colored suit jacket.]
Call me curious, but I'm really interested in seeing what you mean by 'regular alchemy'. [It was more than basic curiosity. He wanted to see the extent of what the other residents could do, so he could begin concocting a plan of action for the duration of his stay in Luceti.]
no subject
Thank you Lupin. I would be most grateful. [The Gauntlets might be a bit on the heavy side though.]
That wouldn't be a problem then. Perhaps we can arrange a time for a demonstration later, as I cannot really use it in here. I would hate to ruin the evening. [Armstrong doesn't mind showing people his Alchemy skills. His forte is combat alchemy (ironically), and his secret weapon is his surprising turn of speed.]
no subject
And the weight of the gauntlets would be no problem. He did steal the Statue of Liberty after all...using hot air balloons, no less!]
no subject
[Armstrong grins at the cheerful thief.]
I look forward to demonstrating it to you.
no subject
[He wasn't lying. There weren't any agendas hidden behind his eyes--at least, none that would use anything Alex showed him for harm.]
