Who: Everyone!
What: Thanksgiving + New Feather party.
When: Evening of the 20th.
Where: School cafeteria, nicely done up.
Summary: There's food. And there's also board games, are you game for some Snakes and Ladders?
Rating: Let's put this all over the board. Strange stuff can happen, man.
[Thanksgiving may not be a familiar holiday to most in Luceti, but everyone understands potluck, at least! Hopefully. Preferably.

It's all done buffet-style as usual. Thanksgiving stuff greets you first when you grab a plate and get in line at the buffet lines (food and drink provided by everyone, Thanksgiving stuff courtesy of the Welcome Centre and Ginia). Though of course, don't think that you have to stand in a line while eating! There's tables and chairs for sitting and talking and— eating, obviously. Reach out and grab a drink! If you get one that's been prepared by the Welcome Centre, it's non-alcoholic. Can't really say the same for anything else brought by others, so you may want to be careful. Y'know, just in case.

'course, there's also board games if you're interested in 'em. Just check out that corner over there!]

The sudden stillness is strange after such energy. Lupin, curious, set his plate aside and settles himself near the kid.

"Hey. What's up?" It was curiosity and concern that drove him to ask.

"Nah...it's nothin'." The fellow's attempt at a convincingly dismissive response fails, and he must be aware of it since, after a beat of silence, he gives in and elaborates. "It's jus' that... I think Doc would a' liked this." Truthfully, he isn't entirely sure if the man would have cared much for the meet-and-greet (although the gravy, sure!); the reality of the situation is that Mac has been separated from a man whom is far more than his trainer for over two months, and the ache has yet to fade... nor does he want it to, however. Because to feel nothing would be to forget Doc, and that couldn't happen.

"Ah, so Doc is a good friend of yours that isn't here, huh?" Lupin could sympathize. He didn't know what he would have done thus far without Zenigata, Goemon, Fujiko, and even Murasaki. His small cohort had become more than just friends and colleagues over the years--they had become his family.

"You've been here for two months the, right? Have you settled in okay?" He didn't want to pry, but he also didn't like seeing people so upset, even if they were almost complete strangers to him.

Mac leans further back in his chair and blinks up at the ceiling, stuffing his hands into the pockets of his pink hoodie. "Yeah, it's been okay." He nods dimly, thoughtfully. "Met some real nice people here, so m'lucky. If those Malnosso guys wasn't around, this place'd be better, a' course, but... whatchya gonna do?" Glancing back towards Lupin, he purses his lips, shrugging helplessly. "At least they don' mess with ya every day, y'know?"

Lupin had a few...ideas of what he was going to do about the Malnosso. None of them could be acted upon yet. It was too early; he needed more information, more time. If his eyes darkened for a second, it was because his thoughts were rolling again on his plans for his stay.

A smile quickly formed on his face though, realizing that there was no need to rattle the kid further. Instead, he placed a hand on his shoulder. "Hey, why don't we go check out the Battle Dome?"

A distraction may not have been the best idea, but he didn't want to leave the kid thinking too hard about what he couldn't easily change.

And so, they went!

Blinking, Mac hesitated briefly at Lupin's reassuring gesture - an action he associated with Doc; however, he was not uncomfortable with this form of physical contact. "Yeah, sure." After rubbing casually at his nose with the back of his hand, he pushed his chair back and stood, his feeling of fullness prompting him to pat his belly contentedly. "Aw man. That was good stuff."

"It was, wasn't it?" Lupin smiled at the kid, glad to know that the brief melancholy spell was broken for the moment. At least his brain was good for something other than charm and trickery everyonce in a while! "Lead the way whenever you're ready then."
