Who: Everyone!
What: Thanksgiving + New Feather party.
When: Evening of the 20th.
Where: School cafeteria, nicely done up.
Summary: There's food. And there's also board games, are you game for some Snakes and Ladders?
Rating: Let's put this all over the board. Strange stuff can happen, man.
[Thanksgiving may not be a familiar holiday to most in Luceti, but everyone understands potluck, at least! Hopefully. Preferably.

It's all done buffet-style as usual. Thanksgiving stuff greets you first when you grab a plate and get in line at the buffet lines (food and drink provided by everyone, Thanksgiving stuff courtesy of the Welcome Centre and Ginia). Though of course, don't think that you have to stand in a line while eating! There's tables and chairs for sitting and talking and— eating, obviously. Reach out and grab a drink! If you get one that's been prepared by the Welcome Centre, it's non-alcoholic. Can't really say the same for anything else brought by others, so you may want to be careful. Y'know, just in case.

'course, there's also board games if you're interested in 'em. Just check out that corner over there!]

"Hmmm." Ginji rubs his chin. Well he knows what a sled is more-or-less, and from what he can gather she means you're supposed to take one to the top of a hill, get on it, and then ride it back down. Right? It's not as if he hasn't, you know, hopped on a cart rolling downhill before when he was a kid. Sleds don't have much use out in the desert, but with all this ice he bets they'd go really fast. He also bets it's a pretty dangerous activity all things considered.

"That sounds like it could be a lot of fun!"

And he means it, too. Don't be too surprised if you see Ginji testing out sleds later. Or trying to make one of his own.
lostinmyway: (Oh my isn't this lovely?)

"Oh, yes, especially whenever you ride with a friend!" she says enthusiastically. "We should go together sometime!"

It would be a great way to cement what Grune thinks of as their already well-developed friendship.
broji: (it runs in the family)

"We absolutely should!" Oh Grune, what have you done. He's convinced this could be the next greatest thrill besides flying. You take what you can get around here. Besides, everything else in Luceti has been pretty normally paced so far.

"Though, of course, I'll have to find some sleds first - or make them. Either way, it shouldn't take too long to pull off. When would you like to go?"

And then, after a moment's thought, "I wonder if they would work better in old snow or new..."
lostinmyway: (Well....)

[personal profile] lostinmyway 2012-01-16 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
She considers his question for a moment. Then: "We could go now."

Grune rather tends to live in the present.
broji: (ah sorry!)

It's a great place to live. Ginji prefers it, too. However, the suggestion still manages to catch him off guard since he was just in the middle of working out the mechanical details behind sledding in his head.

"Really? Well, sure! But what about the sleds? Do you know of a place where we could get them, Grune?"

Having a sled for this activity is mandatory after all, and Ginji has none.
lostinmyway: (Well....)

"Hmm...." That requires a great deal of thinking. But eventually, she says, "Maybe there are some at the shop."

People have certainly found stranger things there. It's reasonable to expect.
broji: (calm; confident; flying ace)

He nods. "I guess it's worth a look. Though, if we go now, we might miss the end of the party. Are you all right with that?"

After all, Ginji assumes they both came for the food, the party, and the people, not what has started to unfold as a daring sidequest. Best to make sure.
lostinmyway: (It's always a sunny day.)

"Oh, that's all right. I can visit with everyone else later," she says with no evident regret.

It isn't every day she gets to go sledding with a new friend, so it's all right if she misses a little bit of the party.
