House Seven was decked out in soft oranges and browns. Gentle reds and yellows. The table was shoved up against a wall and dish upon dish of delicious Thanksgiving dinner-bits adorned it. Plates to one side, a pile of cutlery. Feel free to line up and pile your arms high with roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, carrots and green beans, cranberry sauce, sinful gravy. Stuffing. Steamed broccoli. The amount of food would almost be laughable had the guest list not been so long. Chatter abounded.

It was, by all accounts, a fairly casual gathering. No ceremony (Buffy, by this point, was all ceremony'd out after some fiercely dedicated meal-prepping) to stand on and no customs to keep. Just food and friendship. The only thing customary about Buffy Summers would be her delighted, enchanted grin throughout the evening. Very little pleased her more than a social event that was going well.

There's more than enough food for everyone. For all that neither Jilly nor Buffy were the most skilled of cooks, they'd managed quite a nice spread (with more than a little help from more cook-worthy sources). Once freed from the kitchen, Jilly's making her way around the party greeting who she can, familiar or not.

Albert, when she gets close enough to realize that she doesn't recognize him, gets a bright smile and a wave. "Come on in! Despite appearances, there's plenty of room."

The way the young woman greets him as he enters immediately gives Albert the impression that she is as much a hostess of this party as Buffy. He inclines his head in return, and even offers a gloved hand. "Thank you. We have not met before; I am Albert Silverberg."

She shakes his hand without hesitation. "I'm Jilly. You're a friend of Buffy's, I take it?"

"We've known each other here for awhile now." He says so with a slightly amused tone; it was probably obvious he was not more closely related to Buffy in comparison to those she knew from her world. "You are Buffy's housemate, correct? She mentioned a Jilly over the journals."

"I am. She was kind enough to let me move in a few months ago."

He nods, politely attentive. "You throw a very nice ... casual dinner." What other way could he refer to it? A dinner party sounded too formal, a house party too ... rowdy.

"I think most of the credit has to go to Buffy. I just helped."

Albert offers a nod of acknowledgement, taking those words at face value. "Are you familiar with the holiday that is being celebrated? There is no significance to this day in my own world."

"I guess that's probably a common trend around here, with so many worlds coming together." She smiled. "I'm from the same world as Buffy. Though this might be the biggest crowd I've ever celebrated Thanksgiving with."
