so pile your boots up in the corner -- hang your jacket from the door

Who: anyone invited to house seven's thanksgivingstravaganza -- as well as anyone walking by who might be curious about all the brouhaha.
What: giving thanks!
When: forward dated to november 24th due to predicted holiday hiatuses!
Where: house seven!
Summary: friends, food, fondness. family. festivities.
Rating: g for goin' up.

House Seven was decked out in soft oranges and browns. Gentle reds and yellows. The table was shoved up against a wall and dish upon dish of delicious Thanksgiving dinner-bits adorned it. Plates to one side, a pile of cutlery. Feel free to line up and pile your arms high with roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, carrots and green beans, cranberry sauce, sinful gravy. Stuffing. Steamed broccoli. The amount of food would almost be laughable had the guest list not been so long. Chatter abounded.

It was, by all accounts, a fairly casual gathering. No ceremony (Buffy, by this point, was all ceremony'd out after some fiercely dedicated meal-prepping) to stand on and no customs to keep. Just food and friendship. The only thing customary about Buffy Summers would be her delighted, enchanted grin throughout the evening. Very little pleased her more than a social event that was going well.

Mix! Mingle! Make merry!

(ooc; threadjack into oblivion and don't forget to add your character to the entry tags! have fun! note that this is forward-dated. i'll be tagging around myself later this evening. )

"She's been here?" Oh, great. "What about Darla?" Cordelia, personally, was not her biggest fan, especially for being the reason why Angel turned into Massive Asshole for a few months.

"Good. Because I really want to stake that crazy." Drusilla was unnerving. She was a sad case to begin with, but Cordelia couldn't be around her - or think about her - without the hairs on her arms standing up.

She's thankful that she came later rather than during. "Any other friends of ours turn up here?"

She perked up at the names of her friends - she knew of the Scoobies, sans Spike and Faith, if they counted - but knowing who of the L.A. branch had been here made her feel somewhat connected - at the same time as disconnected - from them. "Fred and Wesley have been here?" She wished they were here with her right now, potential spoilers if they came years before her be damned.

Cordelia didn't think much of Spike being here. He was someone who flew under her radar unless he was all up in her face with his bleached hair. He was more Angel's pain in the ass than hers. She raised her eyebrows, "Faith? Was this pre-psycho?"

"Wow, that sounds like it really sucks," she said, sympathetically. She didn't know how she'd handle people coming and going - and possibly coming back - on her. "But at least you've got people here." She clicked her fingers, standing a bit straighter, "Like Jack! That's got to be one of those big bonuses for being a winged veteran."

"Jack came back? I'm still learning the lay of the land - and I know it says so in that guide - but he seriously came back? As himself?" She didn't want to think about the last point. Never come back.

"What a mess," she said, looking down. She didn't know how she'd handle it if Buffy - or, god forbid, Angel - came back from wherever it was and didn't know the things that made them them.

"Good thing you got him back. The Malnosso wouldn't know what hit them if they didn't."

"So, you leave, and you come back all muddled in the memory department? Is that how the Malnosso work?" Cordelia didn't like it one bit. Her memories were hers. It was the one thing in Luceti that she owned one hundred and ten percent. She didn't have any other belongings here that gave her comfort.
