sundead: (with her)

Out with the old....

Who: Everyone
What: New Year's.
When: Dec. 31st, New Year's Eve, to Jan 1st, New Year's Day.
Where: Everywhere
Summary: It's New Year's, and the people of Luceti have a lot to reflect upon, and to look forward to. And on a more meta level, new journal names.
Rating: We'll see...

New Year's brings images of crowds, and songs, and fireworks; staying up til midnight and watching balls or bells being rung. But Luceti is a different time and place. Whether you're partying with friends or watching the sunrise, what are you doing today?

I typically let my students go home as well for all the major holidays. But if they choose to stay I also welcomed that as well. But not many usually go with that option. [ Given many of them have very differing religious beliefs after all. ]

It was...rather interesting. A family in Kyoto led my to them. Legends after all are typically well received, especially in the Japanese culture where it's still rather prevalent. But it was hot like a fire only it wouldn't burn you if you stuck your hand in it unless the kitsune wanted it too.

that was such a beautiful tag ;w;

[That kiss is a spark of life all on its own. It's sudden and jolting and he doesn't hesitate to kiss her back, tasting tears and tea and something wonderful. It's a raw sweetness he's been missing, and that familiar weak-kneed feeling hits him strong.

Maybe it's all in his head, but he swears he can hear those fireworks. Out with the old, in with the new. A newness that's familiar and fresh.]

[ yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes-- ] If it wouldn't be any trouble for you! I'm a bit curious.
folklorist: (You should really try it)

[personal profile] folklorist 2012-01-19 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
It would be amazingly so. An entire book with all the worlds compiled into it? And in very stunning detail? I believe that would be a rather big undertaking but very doable. If we all chipped in for at least small portions of it, it would get made very effortlessly.

I'm Falkner, the gym leader of Violet City. [ He nods politely. ] And you are?
shadedsunlight: (We hope everything works out)

[personal profile] shadedsunlight 2012-01-19 07:19 am (UTC)(link)
The world sharing class would be a good starting place. What do you think? A project for the new year?
folklorist: (So you did like it then)

[personal profile] folklorist 2012-01-19 07:33 am (UTC)(link)
It's a thought. One I wouldn't mind getting behind at all. The world building class will certainly help with it. I've also had the thought of doing a cultural festival at some point. Maybe in the spring...something like Tanabata with stalls lined up with games and food from different worlds.
shadedsunlight: (Smile like you mean it)

[personal profile] shadedsunlight 2012-01-19 07:45 am (UTC)(link)
I think that would be wonderful! I definitely approve of that idea.

♥ x all of them!

[ He nods, trying to contain his enthusiasm. Someone (or, somebirdie) that understands...! ] I've been around birds all my life. They're truly magnificent.
folklorist: (Peaceful: You wanted to talk?)

[personal profile] folklorist 2012-01-19 08:53 am (UTC)(link)
I'll have to ask around but I think it might be a huge hit! [ He's smiling at the thought of it. It's been an idea that's been in his mind for awhile ever since him and Regal spoke about it to one another. ]

I was also thinking of having a snow sculpture competition. The winners would get entire hot spring to themselves. N-not that people don't have that option already but...I'm not sure what prizes one could give really when you can get whatever you want easily enough.

I think a snow sculpture competition would be fun. And even if people can go there whenever, it's a very nice prize. It's something special. Maybe you could put up a barrier so only the winners and some of their friends can go to the hot springs that day?
folklorist: (We can go with that)

[personal profile] folklorist 2012-01-19 09:36 am (UTC)(link)
Yes fun! That's the main point of it. Sure it's a competition but it's not very fun if it's treated just as such. Perhaps giving everyone something afterwards could work too.

[ Helios laughs at the suggestion. A bit extreme but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be highly effective. ]

Oh dear. I don't know if I could bring myself to do that. But it would certainly work, wouldn't it?

How about getting a collection of prizes and the winner can choose first, then the rest can be distributed out after?

[The Malnosso better bring him here!!]

Which is probably for the best. If there's two of him, I'm dunno how that will turn out.

[WELL NAOYA'S PRETTY PRIVATE.]

Hey, she's the one claiming to be your best friend! It's natural I'll want to test her and make sure you're in good hands.

She seems passable, I suppose.

[But only because Ami asked him to stop.]

Then maybe you should go and ask around if there are any other champions in this place. With the current population, there's bound to be more.

In Grune's world, there's an easy solution to that. "Well, why don't we go look for them together?"

We'd be glad to have you! There's always need for more hands, since the Malnosso aren't regular with their schedules.... [whether it be kidnappings or just dropping off books at random intervals, though that tends to fit in with the New Feather cycle mostly.]

Sorry Ven-san, but if it gets to that point then Fuuko will have to side with Kohan-san on this one.

[So basically she's going to go with whoever comes out better in this 'challenge'.]

But Fuuko has faith that you'll be able to eat plenty and still have room for more Ven-san!

That sounds like a nice place then. Not that Fuuko enjoys drinking or playing many card games, but Fuuko can see the appeal a room like that could hold.

[Not that Fuuko has ever drank any alcohol or played much of any card game. Plus many of those ranks go right past her, though she is aware of what sergeants, officers and such are in a general sense.]

How did you become a non-commissioned officer then? If you were a proper officer then you could be leader, or command troops, or something similar to that. Is that correct? Fuuko isn't up to date with how a military might work.
