I was looking for you, it wasn't hard to figure you would be in a good place to watch the fireworks. And with so many people gathering at the square and the hill I figured you would choose a place where less people would bother you and had a good view.

Of course. I wouldn't want to go somewhere where it's too loud, that just ruins the whole experience of watching the fireworks.

It's better with a few people. ... Or just two. [ because being just here with Keiichi is pretty much the perfect option to her. ]

I think that two is a perfect number for most things. Not too many, not too few, perfect balance. The Ying and Yang would be pretty messy if it was more than two halves of a whole.

[Chuckling and idly reaching for her hand with his free hand. Don't mind him.]

[ It's okay, she doesn't mind. Quite the opposite, considering she smiles thinly when their hands touch. ]

Back home they were talking about that a lot. They mentioned how it takes just two people to create a universe - nothing more than that, and nothing less.

I can agree with that.

I suppose in some way humans don't really live their lives until they get together with someone and stop being a son or a daughter to be a husband or a wife. Only then they can become parents by having children... And so humanity keeps existing. So you can say that with just two people you can create a universe, indeed.

[he takes a sip from his cocoa... And winces when he burns his tongue a bit.]

That's not exactly a universe though, that's more like.. like a family, right? Or are you saying both are the same?

[ At that she glances to the side to him though, almost looking faintly amused. ]

Of course they are the same. Isn't that why you did the things you did? Why you wanted your family back? Without them, who cares if the universe is still up and running? It has no meaning... But there are two types of families, the one you belong to and the one you create. So there are more than one way to get a family back, even if it's not exactly the same, you know.

[Cough, cough, let's just... Look to the opposite side than Ange, while idly caressing her hand with his fingers. He's torn now between wanting her to realize what he said or focusing on the first part of it.]

[He chuckles a bit, trying to ease the awkwardness. Honestly he still can't look at her because he probably is blushing as well, that or smiling like an idiot. Specially hearing that answer.]

Oh? So even if it's not the Ushiromiya family with that same name it would still be okay with you? Even if the last name isn't as great as that one? or as rich?

Like it matters in this place. I don't have my money from back home here either, and even if I did.. It's not like money matters. [ you're talking to the girl who throws around money like it's nothing, Keiichi. ] It just brings out the worst in people.

I agree with that, money helps but... It doesn't give happiness magically. The only way you can suddenly become happy no matter what is falling in love and having that person fall in love with you as well. I guess that's why they say that love is magic.

[Laughing again before he quiets and peeks at her.]

[ Becoming happy no matter what.. So that's what she's finally reached here, after being miserable and lonely for so long? Well, it does feel good - nice and warm, and.. better than she's felt in a long time. Better than any time since her family died. ]

... Yeah. Any name.. is fine at all. [ and it's more symbolic than that even to her - giving up the Ushiromiya name means finally leaving the past for what it is, accepting that her family is gone and moving on to something new - and probably better for her, too.

She takes a deep breath; it feels almost corny and cheesy saying this, not like her at all, so she can't help it when the blush creeps further up on her face. ] So, if it's yours, then.. I guess if taking it on someday might happen, I probably wouldn't mind by then.

[He wonders if he has been able to make her even a bit happy, but he's not in a rush. He plans to work on that forever after all, one day he will get there if it hasn't happened yet. And thus he never asks.

He tries to not look disappointed when she answers, saying that any name is fine at all. Well, it's not as if he expects her to say she would like his or anything like that but, maybe he expected her to say that she had a preference and just no expand on that. But anyone would do, huh? Maybe he should take that as a signal that he's not making her very happy yet. He's about to answer when... She continues.

And the world stops as he just stares at her. Surprise wrote on his face before slowly realization dawns in and a smile climbs up his facial expression accompanied by a small laugh. Good job Ange, now you have your boyfriend grinning, laughing and blushing like an idiot.]

I-I see, I see! You wouldn't mind that, yeah. I wouldn't mind it either, you taking it, you can take all you want, I probably wouldn't mind either way. Not that it's something to really worry about now, right?

[Laughing a bit, he tries to take a sip to make himself shut up. He flinches.]

OUCH! How the hell did I manage to make it so hot?! I made hot cocoa, not lava cocoa!

[Guess who forgot again to blow at it.]

[ There's something oddly adorable about the way he's acting like such an idiot about it, although she would be able to appreciate it more if she wasn't feeling a little embarassed over being so openly corny as well. At least she's alone with just him, that makes matters a little easier.

She sighs when she turns to him after that, but she's smiling a little. ]

You're going to be the death of yourself someday at this rate, Keiichi. I told you to at least blow, right?

[ But she knows he mostly wanted to drink quickly out of that idiot spazziness over what she said, so she doesn't really scold him or anything. Instead, to demonstrate, she blows on hers before slowly taking a tiny sip. ]

I'm glad you're okay with it though.. Otherwise there'd be a problem, hm.

[He grumbles and frowns in answer to t he scolding, or the teasing actually, blowing at his drink before finally being able to sip at it. Looking away still blushing like crazy, this isn't fair, he should be the one making her be all embarrassed and such!]

[ She's just enjoying having the slight upper hand while she can, okay.. even if she is still a little embarassed about all of this too, just not as openly as him. For once she manages to more keep it on the inside, but then he says something like that and she just clicks her tongue. ]

Something like that. And only since I said I didn't mind all the things you did for me that day during the experiment.

Sorry, Ange. I don't think I really care if you're the S-type or whatever type. Whatever type I can imagine, if it's you being so I like it just as much as the next one. Guess I'm too biased into liking you however you are.

[Yup, she hit him hard, though it doesn't surprise him, he had that suspicion since a while. How or when it happened, that he ended being so head over heels for her, he's not sure, but he's not complaining. At least now that she's his girlfriend he can admit it openly without getting nervous, because what boyfriend doesn't love his girlfriend?]

[ There's a sound coming from Ange that very much sounds like a surprised and very much embarassed sputter, and she actually turns to her drink for a distraction too - the problem is that she doesn't seem to have much of a problem with how hot it is, just gulping down part of it quickly. See, now it isn't that weird that her face is red, clearly, anyone's face would be red after drinking that much of a warm drink, clearly.

So it doesn't seem too much that she's blushing because he's so overly embarassing with how nice he is, saying that he would like her just for being her no matter what, and well.. the same probably counts in return, but the problem is that there's no way she could ever say something that embarassing so carelessly the way he does. ]

[Well... While she's busy trying to hide the blush and such he will casually slide a bit closer to her. Don't mind him, or the proud smile that he tries to hide by drinking. He sure had a good idea bringing up something to drink, otherwise things would have been awkward and hard to disguise.]

And catching people off guard is sometimes the best way to get what you want. When people are on guard, no matter what you say or how much reason you have, they will fight back out of mere instinct. It's hard to admit that you're wrong about things, or learn new things, when you're adamant about them.
