New Year's brings images of crowds, and songs, and fireworks; staying up til midnight and watching balls or bells being rung. But Luceti is a different time and place. Whether you're partying with friends or watching the sunrise, what are you doing today?

[He only knows one person with a whiny voice like that. Yeah, sorry, Norma, he can tell who you are by how you whine. That's probably not a good thing. He sits up, and looks over the roof. Yep, there she was.]

Damn, how the hell do girls stand to where that stuff? Those shoes are gonna kill your feet.

[Oh that's...Ace! Norma looks left and right in search of the source of her friend's voice and, not finding it, she puts her hands on her hips and frowns. He better not be playing a prank on her or somethi--

Oh, there he is. She looks up on the roof and gives him a little mock salute...with her champagne bottle still in hand. A-Ahaha, she'll pretend she's actually legal age to drink that...and didn't steal it. M-Maybe he won't know or care? Ahem.]

Beauty hurts, naturally. It's not easy being me, I'm telling you. Oh! Thanks for this, by the way, Hothead! I love it! [She holds out her arms and spins, making the gown flutter a little bit.] ...Even if I'm got exactly right size up top...

[Mumble grumble. The woes of a teenaged girl...]

FIRE STORM!

[Yeah, in the back of her mind, Norma knows it won't work, but damn if she cares. Her womanly pride has just been ridiculed, and Ace must pay the price. With her newly powered up eres! All that practicing really paid off...at least for her base to mid-level spells. Hopefully the wind aspect of her spell will at least knock him off his feet if anything. Or, you know, the champagne bottle she threw at Ace's face after finishing her spell should do some damage. Maybe.

[Ace lets out a low whistle before holding his arms out and sucking the flames away. He managed to stay on the roof, despite the wind along with it. When the fires dissipated, he smirked. Buuuuuuut then she threw the champagne bottle.]

SHI-- [--psyyych. He caught it. He looked at the bottle.] You like the fancy stuff, huh?

[Hnngh, Ace, you suck. Norma stomps her foot into the snow, pouting defiantly, and then points a finger up at him. The tip was glowing faintly, a red-orange color, but fades away like a dead ember.]

You, shut it, or I'll fancy my foot up yours! And get down here so I can hurt you!

[Huffpuff. And another stomp of her foot, before Norma storms over to the edge of the house and reaches up with her arms, far too short to reach the edge of the roof like she wanted. Either get down or help her up, you bloody pirate. She can't do much in heels and a gown.]

[He just widens his eyes, and then begins CRACKING UP. And basically being a troll and staying up there.]

Ah....yeah, I'm sure you could.

[He reaches his arm out, still chuckling a little.] Here, grab on and I'll pull you up.

[HUFFPUFF, so mean. Just you wait until she learns some water spells from Grune or somone else around here. B|! Buuut for now, Norma settles with grabbing a hold of Ace's arm, holding his while the other curls around his forearm. Her grip is tight and secure, but her voice seems shaky and hesitant.]

...If you drop me, Hothead, I'll never forgive you.

[Now, he COULD be a total ass and pretend to drop her. But he won't. Cause the poor kid's kinda scared. So in one pull, he gets her up on the roof.]

Ooooooi, I'm careful.

[Aaand up she goes! Norma squeaks the moment her feet leave the ground, and hangs on even tighter than before, up until she's on the roof. Even then Norma only relinquishes her grip on Ace's arm somewhat, wobbling on the shingles in her heels.]

D-Don't let me go yet! [Like Ace could, with her vice grip on him. Regardless, though, Norma removes her heels and decides to tough it out on the ice and snow. ...It actually feels a bit nice on her sore feet.] Aaah, that's so much better...!

[You're lucky that doesn't hurt. But just as a warning:]

If you grip me too hard, I'll turn into fire.

[Just sayin'. And he smiles.] I won't let go, okay?

[F-Fffff...! That's not funny. Not funny when she's kind of afraid of getting burned by you, Ace, even if by accident. Perhaps that's what scares her the most, an accident. She lets go probably a second after he jokes, but has to cling to his torso again when she slips on a patch of ice. From moving too quickly.

--ahajvhf why'd she come up here again? Sob.]

Y-You better not! F-For both of those! If you let me go or burn me, I'll strangle you! [All said while still clinging, of course. Norma is the epitome of manliness.] You can keep me warm, but if you go up in flames, I'll strangle you! I will!

Wha-- oi! [Geez, what the hell, Norma. He just sighs and picks her up to carry her and walks carefully up the roof. Notice he has good balance and it nowhere near dropping her or bursting into flames.]

Geez, trust me a little, okay? I'm not gonna let you get hurt.

[Wow, you must be screaming by now. Whether it's because this looks like a cute scene, or you want to be in Norma's place. :|a]

[A little from column a, a little from column b... With the quietest of squeaks, Norma reflexively presses herself closer to Ace, and holds on. ...Welp. This is better than standing barefoot in the ice and snow, or on her heels in the ice and snow. It's just...really...

She huffs, her face growing a little red (seriously, Ace, put a shirt on sometimes), but doesn't argue too much.]

[And her words are very quickly drowned out by the loud whistle in the distance, and the explosion of sound and color coming from the cherry tree hill. Seems a little someone is setting off fireworks from over there! I WONDER WHO. ]

Oh, wow...you can see them real good from up here.

[Considering they're being fired off just over the hill, which is close by to the house.]

[When they get to the pointed part of the roof, he sets her down and ready to retort. But then the fireworks shot out, and he stared for a moment before smiling. He turned to the skies, and shot out twenty-one small fireworks of his own.

He sat down and nodded.] Yeah....really well.

[Norma watches both displays, the flaming sparks Ace gave off, and the colorful bursts from the cherry tree hill. Each one, different yet still fun and beautiful to watch, lit up her face and eyes with their various colors. She'd never seen fireworks this close up before! It was...really something.

Managing to keep her balance was a little hard, but she did well enough, and only held back onto Ace's arm when she was sure he wasn't sizzling.]

Still got my booze, Hothead? You've gotten drink this time around, right?! It's a celebration, so I wanna see that stuff flowing!

[She'll be drunk in three glasses, two shots if it's the rum you were drinking, Ace.]

eh, do you really care.

[He dances flames around his hands for a moment, before nodding. He grabbed her bottle of champagne and handed to her, uncorking his own bottle of rum.]

You have your fancy crap, I'm sticking with rum.

[Pfft. Norma sticks her tongue out at him in a very mature and adult-like manner then tries to do the same with her bottle - uncork it.

...Yeah, um. Feel free to laugh at her struggling, Ace, it's pretty funny what with the faces, grunts, and quiet threats and curses she mutters to the bottle.]

[He chuckles a little and takes the bottle, and just pulls that cork right off.

And then it flies right through him. A small hole was left in his chest before the fire filled it in.]

...daaaaamn,, that would've hurt.

Jeez! Don't do that! [She snatches the bottle from him with a huff, glad it didn't go up in flames with his hand or something when it began to spill out the top, and waited for the froth to die before taking a drink. Mm...bubbly! Though it was kind of bitter.

She makes a face, looks at the bottle, and takes another drink, smacking her lips. ...Yeah, it was kinda bitter. She looks over at Ace, then his bottle.]
