New Year's brings images of crowds, and songs, and fireworks; staying up til midnight and watching balls or bells being rung. But Luceti is a different time and place. Whether you're partying with friends or watching the sunrise, what are you doing today?

You're right. [She speaks firmly.] We can't let them go further in making us complacent. We can't say 'I hope the malnosso do this' and 'I hope the malnosso don't do that'. We have to meet them with our own strength.

You know something, maybe that should be our shorter-term goal. [With that elusive long-term of unraveling all mysteries and getting out of this whole thing.] Try to make our own progress somehow. That and making sure we don't get too complacent. Poking each other awake when we metaphorically start to drift off, so to speak...

I will. I... really don't want to become complacent here. Even with Usagi-chan here now, there are reasons both of us need to go back. To our proper worlds and our lives. We need her there, more than I can really explain. Being here, I'm afraid of what will happen about the things I know are coming in her future.

I don't blame you there... it must be hard knowing the future relative to what she knows. Even trying to warn her about things comes with its own risks.

I've told her I may not be able to tell her what will happen. She understands that. But I still think... it might be better if I did. If she knew about it, would that help her prepare for it, and stop it? Or would it make things happen sooner, and here?

That's the dilemma. I'd think that you'd need all the conditions from home to make it happen here... [But the Shifts can pretty much make anything happen, a troubling prospect, and they can always just bring in people if other people need to be involved.] Warning her could prevent it, or at least make things better on everyone involved. Or it changes everything entirely and makes it worse. Or... if we're really stuck in a universe that's tied to fate, knowing won't change a thing.

Then there's another consideration. If we forget everything when we're sent back home... it might not make that kind of a difference. Unless there's some small fragment of a memory deep down which helps...

That's the trouble. If she was aware of it... everything that made those situations is already here.

[The princess is already separated from the prince, and that's what led her to those lengths that led to the end of their world.]

That does make it more of a problem... especially if you don't know what kind of outcome it could have, her finding out here. Would it pose a danger to her or others, to know?

It could. [Which makes the other answer, 'both'. Angry enemies will always target Usagi once they understand her existence; and Usagi herself will be torn apart by knowing it's part of her. And Usagi herself might-

Then I recommend you continue to be careful about it... at least, unless a need arises where she has to know.

Back home, once we all understood, we tried to help her. But in the end, things got out of control for awhile. It worked out in the end, only thanks to her.

So if anything does happen, you can at least use your knowledge to help here.

[Well, considering Chiba Mamoru isn't here, she can be pretty sure the princess' feelings for Endymion won't awaken in Usagi. And if those feelings stay suppressed, the princess won't be infuriated by their separation. And if Endymion is not here... Endymion cannot die before the princess' very eyes yet again, leading her to that despair.]

For now, it's alright here. Definitely. [She just worries for the future, when it depends on so many things that boil down to simple chance.]
