New Year's brings images of crowds, and songs, and fireworks; staying up til midnight and watching balls or bells being rung. But Luceti is a different time and place. Whether you're partying with friends or watching the sunrise, what are you doing today?

<sub>[It's already New Year's. Pilouette had been hoping that she wouldn't be stuck in Luceti for this long. For the very first time in her life, she's not celebrating it with family and it feels a bit...strange.

However, she is doing her best to enjoy things and push those thoughts away for now. She's spending her time walking around the village and enjoying all the different fireworks. They're not at all like the ones back home and she's finding them all pretty amazing.]</sub>

[Ginia spots Pilouette as she's out enjoying the wonderful firework display. It's been awhile since they've spoken and Ginia decides now's as good a time as ever to say hello.]

Pilouette! Happy new year!

Hi~! You, too!

[Pilouette smiles as she tries her best to remember this person's name. The first time they'd met Ginia had been a child and the second time Pilouette hadn't recognized her and can't remember if she had asked! She doesn't want to admit she doesn't know her name, so she's going with her usual plan: do her best to pretend she's perfectly in the know!]

Like, it's totally been a while, huh?

[Ginia, oblivious for now, continues on.]

It has been. How have you been? Have a good Christmas?

O-oh! Um! I'm okay! Christmas was pretty good! Um, how about you? Like, doing okay?

Doing all right. It's been an exciting few weeks, but it's all turned out all right.

[She smiles and gestures around at everyone.]

It's great seeing everyone enjoying themselves. And talk about some great fireworks, right?

I know, right? These beat anything we had back home! They're like, totally amaaaaazing~!

Hi! Happy New Year!

[ caroline's having a blast, and wishing just about everyone a happy new year, regardless of if she knows them or not. ]

_{[Pilouette is a little surprised by this sudden greeting, but smiles and offers a polite nod anyway.]}

Oh! Thanks! Like, you too!

Gee, these fireworks are like, totally wild, huh?

I know, right! It's great to see something normal for a change, don't you think?

Like, no kidding! Though...compared to the fireworks back home, these don't seem all that "normal", you know?

Well, yeah, but you gotta admit; this sure beats another experiment.

[ last thing they needed was another one of those. no, thank you. ]

Blegh. No doubt. I've only been around here long enough for the one experiment and that was one too many.

Like, nice to meet you! Pilouette Bonheur, but you can just call me Pils if you want.

[ Pilouette might get so see some pretty fancy fireworks as Helios casts a myraid of light magic into the air. The orbs of light will flick and flutter about through the air, sometimes swirling around people only to then jet up into the black starry sky and explode soundlessly into dazzling little rays of light.

Helios can be found either preforming or getting something to eat and drink. Magic casting is ever so hard and tiring sometimes! You need to keep up your strength after all. ]

_{[As Pilouette wanders around, she spots Helios while he's having a bite to eat. She smiles and trots over to him waving.]}

Heyyyy! Mr. Sprensonne~! Happy New Year~!

[ Helios mid-chew stops and looks at the person calling him. He knows that voice! Chew, chew, swallow. That's better! Have a derpy smile. ] Ah! Pilouette! Happy New Year to you as well!

Hey! Mr. Sprensonne, someone told me that you were like, making some of these fireworks! Are you really?!

_{[Not that she has any reason to doubt it, but things in this place seem to be getting more and more astounding every day.]}

[ Helios nods, smiling. He'll hold open his free hand out between the two of them a bright ball of light settling neatly in his palm before it sparks and then shatters into a million little tiny threads. ]

Are you enjoying yourself so far?

_{[She lets out an amazed little laugh at the tiny firework.]}

I sure am~! These fireworks beat anything we had back home!

[Does Pilouette enjoying herself involve having a five year old run into her legs as she tries to find the best place to watch all the fireworks?! 'Cause there might just be a five year old running towards her, not watching where she's going as she's got her eyes glued to the sky.]

_{[Well, it's not as if Pilouette is watching where she's going, either. As the child slams into her legs, Pils somehow manages to keep herself from toppling over. Surprised, she crouches down next to Yotsuba.]}

H-hey, um, a-are you okay...?!

[Shaking her head and getting to her feet having fallen over from the collision. She;s all smiles and sunshine despite the fall!]

Yeah, Yotsuba is a'okay! Gotta run fast and see all the pretty colours, right?

[Seems as though she's already over falling over.]

[Whoah. Talk about excited.]

Well, you could probably see them better if you like, stayed in one place, you know? Otherwise, you'll be like, too busy running around to look at them!

But what if some start going off way over there?! Always be prepared!

[And so she runs off again!






Only to come back a second later and stand next to Pilouette so to watch the fireworks.]

They really do, huh? Besides if they do go off over there, you'll probably be able to see them anyway, right? I mean, they go pretty high up...
