Who: Everyone! New Feathers especially.
What: New Feather welcome party!
When: Thursday, 5 pm.
Where: Battle Dome
Summary: IT'S A SUMMER PARTY
Rating: Worksafe, I reckon!
It's cold out there today, isn't it? Sure, it's not snowing but once you get into the Battle Dome, it'll be comfortably warmer. Warmer, not warm. Follow the tiny paper arrows and you'll probably find yourself in, well...summer!

It certainly looks convincing enough (a pool, a volleyball court, deck chairs, everything that you'd think you'd find at a pool party) and feels convincing enough (take off that coat! Aren't you hot?) so why not not step in? The barbecue's sizzling and there's some nice cold drinks at the cooler.

C'mon in, the water's awesome!

The man doesn't startle him too badly, though he does look up quickly. Battalions and dragons all made of sand have a way of drawing a boy's attention, though more so for the artistic merit on his part. He smiles cheerfully at Helios and returns the wave before trotting over.

"Hello. It is beautiful in here!" Between the artificial pools, the hamburgers, and the castles with armies that raise themselves, he's in a little over his head. Fortunately, he's excited about it. "These castles are really cool, and really detailed. Do you know where they're coming from?

"The Battle Dome. One of the Malnosso's many gifts to us. It's amazing how well everything is depicted though. Almost as if the ground outside isn't coated in snow." Helios smiles at that question.

"Ah. Well. I-I seem to be having a bit more fun with them than I thought. I'm the one, er, responsible for some of them. A lot of other people are probably making their own though. Have you ever made one?"

"So that's what this place is? It is pretty amazing." He planned to come back at a later time, to see if he could find someone to teach him how to use the displays and try a few things himself.

Planning aside, he wants to talk with this interesting man."I've made castles before, but not with sand. I'm from a farming village, so we'd usually use the snow or mud." His papa always made him wash off from that...

He had seen the other people making sandcastles, but they were using their hands in the normal method. He may be young, but he wasn't that naive; he was going to ask before he investigated for himself. "How were you making the castles, then? You aren't dirty like everyone else."

"Yes it's...one of the bigger things we've gotten aside from the ocean." Helios nods, listening to the young boy.

"Ah is that so? It's not much different than using snow or mud. You just...need to pack it in tightly and then shape it. They probably will have those shaping buckets in the item shop soon enough." Helios blinks looking back down at his own perfect little castle. A smile touches his lips as he looks back over at Yugo.

"A little bit of magic here or there. I admit it's probably cheating, isn't it."

He had heard about the ocean, among other things in his haphazard perusal of the journals over the last few days. Wanting to stay indoors as much as possible, and not knowing very many people yet, there wasn't much else for him to do aside from talking to people or playing with his pet bird, Az.

The mention of magic catches Yugo's interest. "It's not cheating. If you can do it, it's fair." Says the boy who played a game of keep away with his brother on their first meeting, with him using his portals and his brother using every spell he had prepared at that time--including summoning a giant rock golem.

It was fair.

"...can't you use any bucket you find and add more details later if you're making a sandcastle? We can probably get one from the shops right now, if you want."
folklorist: (I suppose that works)

"I suppose so. There's certain types that have...grooves and details in them though! It makes it slightly less difficult to make the shapes." Helios looks curiously over at the boy wondering what exactly he's getting at.

"We...could, yes. B-But it's rather cold out. P-Probably for the best, wouldn't want to miss anything, hm?"

"Ah...you're right. It would be a shame to go out in this, even for some of those cool sounding buckets. They sound like they'd make castle-building a lot easier."

He smiles up at the man, being polite and curious about the man. The only magic he knew were the spells cast by the dragons; humans had their powers, but it was nothing quite on the same scale. "I'm Yugo," he says after a quick beat. "It's nice meeting you."
