Summary: IT'S A SUMMER PARTY
Rating: Worksafe, I reckon!
It's cold out there today, isn't it? Sure, it's not snowing but once you get into the Battle Dome, it'll be comfortably warmer. Warmer, not warm. Follow the tiny paper arrows and you'll probably find yourself in, well...summer!

It certainly looks convincing enough (a pool, a volleyball court, deck chairs, everything that you'd think you'd find at a pool party) and feels convincing enough (take off that coat! Aren't you hot?) so why not not step in? The barbecue's sizzling and there's some nice cold drinks at the cooler.

C'mon in, the water's awesome!

There's something red swimming about underwater around the poolside. After a moment of moving around it pops up above the surface, sending a nice wave of water all over the place.

"Phew! Hey there." He's never swam so much in his life, but it's all good fun. Caius swims over and rests his arms on the poolside to keep himself afloat. "Having fun?"

A big red fish? Oh, no, of course not. There wouldn't be any fish in there. All that swimming really does look fun, even if the pool itself looks sort of weird.

"I am! There's so many different people here, it's been interesting to see them all." Since she's been left with only people-watching to spend her time for now, but there's nothing wrong with that. She could spend hours doing only that.

"Lots of different people, all from lots of different worlds. Different and interesting worlds too, probably." If his own world was fairly interesting to him then Caius can only imagine how cool it must be to hear about and go to other worlds out there.

He watches Yun for a moment, idly kicking his legs in the water behind him. "Not coming in then?"

"Very interesting worlds. I've been reading the books from them over in the library!" Though she isn't sure which ones she can approach to ask about their worlds. That takes some time to figure out.

She blinks at Caius and glances down at the water for a second before shaking her head.

"No. Not this time. I was told I needed a swimsuit to swim..."

Books, reading, the library, all very fascinating. "Sounds like fun." Or he imagines so anyway, if you like reading and all.

"I don't see why you really need a swimsuit. It's just water, you'll just dry off later." Not having a swimsuit is just an excuse! Sure he has trunks on, but that's only because all the other guys seemed to be doing the same thing.

When you spend your whole life behind a barrier even before Luceti, reading becomes a lot more important!

"I know I would, but I was told it bothers other people if you don't use a swimsuit." And Yun certainly doesn't want to offend, though she wonders if swimming in regular clothing would count the same for a swimsuit. Too bad it would be so unwieldy!

"Huh? ...Well it wouldn't bother me, you shouldn't have to miss out just because you're not wearing a swimsuit." If anything having to wear a swimsuit is embarrassing to him. "Come on, just for a moment?" He probably shouldn't be encouraging people to go swimming in their clothes buuut he's thinking more about the fun to be had than the practicality of it.

Thankfully, Yun has a lot more sense than to actually swim with her normal clothes on.

"Sorry. If these got all wet and I had to walk outside again before I dried off, I'd probably make myself sick from the cold." But she says this in good humor, not at all put out by her lack of swimming. "There's always next time."

"Oh, right, hadn't thought about that. Going out in the cold would probably be a bad idea if you did come in." Well that killed that idea then. Resting his hands on the poolside he pushes out of the water and climbs up to sit next to Yun.

"Next time it is." If there's ever another summer party at the battle dome, or at the beach that's here, wherever it is.

Even if there never was another summer party, how hard could it be to get someone to program the battle dome like this again? Or even just visit the beach, for any reason at all. So, Yun's no too worried about that.

But there are other topics to consider now that they both aren't swimming!

"You're the boy I was writing to before, aren't you? The one who talked about the tall buildings in cities."

She recognizes the voice, though she never did catch his name.

Not being the most tech savvy with the battle dome or all that familiar with the beach he just wonders when the next time will be, if ever.

"Yeah, that's me!" Seeing as only one person wrote to him that day... "You're the one who talked to me about your tribe then. Nice to meet you in person."

Barring the dome or the beach, hey, it can't be winter forever.

"Yes, that was me. It's nice to meet you in person, too, though I don't think you ever mentioned your name."

"I didn't? Ah, it's Caius. Caius Qualls." Thinking for a moment now, silently looking out across the pool. "...Don't think I caught your name either?" Or he forgot, one of the two.

"It's Yun." She had wrote it down before, but who knows how many new people and new names ago that was. "Have you been doing alright since then?"

"Yun! Right, got it. I've been doing fine, nothing bad to mention. Like I said last time everyone is so nice here there really isn't much bad stuff to talk about." Save for that one person who thought he was naive and the other who said he had an unfulfilled life but he really isn't sore over that or anything. "You been alright, settled in and everything?"
