Summary: IT'S A SUMMER PARTY
Rating: Worksafe, I reckon!
It's cold out there today, isn't it? Sure, it's not snowing but once you get into the Battle Dome, it'll be comfortably warmer. Warmer, not warm. Follow the tiny paper arrows and you'll probably find yourself in, well...summer!

It certainly looks convincing enough (a pool, a volleyball court, deck chairs, everything that you'd think you'd find at a pool party) and feels convincing enough (take off that coat! Aren't you hot?) so why not not step in? The barbecue's sizzling and there's some nice cold drinks at the cooler.

C'mon in, the water's awesome!

A swimming race of course! [They were in a pool, in the middle of winter. When would be the next better chance?]

Oh - okay! [Link grins as he moves to the very end of the pool.] How about to the end and back?

[Yugo joins Link, and braces himself against the wall when he gets there.]

Yeah, that sounds good. [Grin.]

Right! When I say 'go', okay? [Bracing for action!]

Ready when you are.

Okay! Three... two... one... GO! [And he's off, slicing through the water like Morpha itself was after him.]

[Yugo gives chase, quite well. Though a small kid, he's surprisingly strong. He peels through the water with the ease of a fish, using only his arms and legs. Portals would be cheating--his opponent wasn't his brother, who was a by far trickier opponent.]

[Link starts out strong, but while he's competent in the water, he's certainly not... fish-like.]

[By the time they reach the first end and turn around, Link might be starting to lag just a little.]

[Yugo's lagging too, though. It's not often that he does swim, and he has to work hard to keep up with Link's height and longer limbs.

He's enjoying himself, though--that's what counts.]

[The second lap is a bit slower than the first - Link is very good at rapidly escaping nasty aquatic monsters, but not so good at sustaining it. Whoops. Still, the end is in sight!]

[Yugo is fast--just not fast enough to keep up with a more experienced swimmer. He tries, he tries hard...but ultimately doesn't reach the wall first.]

[It's pretty close, though! Treading water, he turns to give Yugo a smile.] You swim really well!

[Yugo joins Link, smiling in return.] You're a much better swimmer! That was pretty fun, thanks!

I guess I've practised a lot. [With a grin, he rests one arm against the wall.] There was a pond in the village I grew up in.

It shows! I spent more time cooking with my Papa in the inn and running in the fields than swimming in the streams.

[He laughs a little.] I never cooked at home. Although I guess that shows, too. [He can make some things! Like... broth! And hot chocolate! And he can use the rice cooker! All the essentials.]

You don't need to be a good cook as long as you don't burn water out of the pot! [smile.] If you want help, I can help you with some things.

Oh - I can boil water! [...But not much else.] And that's okay, I go to Sanji's classes and Ginia helps me.

That's good! Sanji is a really nice person too, and very good--you must learn a lot from him!

Uh huh, I do! Do you want to come to the classes? They're on Sunday mornings at Seventh Heaven!

...Sanji has actually been helping me find a more permanent room recently, so it wouldn't be too wierd...

I didn't know he taught cooking classes. I think I will!

Okay! They're pretty fun - and you get to try to make lots of new things.
