Summary: IT'S A SUMMER PARTY

It's cold out there today, isn't it? Sure, it's not snowing but once you get into the Battle Dome, it'll be comfortably warmer. Warmer, not warm. Follow the tiny paper arrows and you'll probably find yourself in, well...summer!

It certainly looks convincing enough (a pool, a volleyball court, deck chairs, everything that you'd think you'd find at a pool party) and feels convincing enough (take off that coat! Aren't you hot?) so why not not step in? The barbecue's sizzling and there's some nice cold drinks at the cooler.

C'mon in, the water's awesome!

[TO THE SLIDE WE GO. THERE ARE STEPS.

Is this foreboding.]

[Hey, these are new steps. There's no silly moss or anything between them.

This is also hell of a climb because it's a pretty high slide.]

[Who would even want to program in yucky moss, unless you want to go for realism. Or a poorly maintained slide.

And here we are! Top of the slide! Not that you can see anything, though, this is a closed slide so it's just a tunnel. A TUNNEL DOWN TO YOUR DOOM.]

Wonderful, there's nothing more fun than being led up a flight of stairs only to end up staring into a dark tunnel OF DOOM. This looks absolutely safe and not scary at all.]

...Here? [WHAT DO YOU MEAN HERE, THIS IS IT? THIS DOESN'T LOOK FUN.] Now what?

Now watch and learn as I do.

[She sits down at the mouth of the slide and nods.]

[Sitting down behind Rise he slowly nods his head.]

Ready. [He guesses?] Wait, was I meant to watch you first and then sit down, or...

O-Oi! You can't be serious... [Stupid dark tunnel mutter grumble.

Fine. He's going to follow ON AFTER HER TOOOOoooo]

[DOWN AND DOWN AND ROUND THE BENDS AND SPLOOSH.

By then. Rise would have paddled out of the way (probably because she knows that he might have gone right after her and she doesn't want to be within kicking range) but the wave— that's still pretty damn amazing.]

[Wheeeeeee~ and SPLAAAASH! into the water he goes.

...Though he doesn't seem to be coming up for air anytime soon.]

[Bobbing in the water and waiting for him to surface still...]

THOUGH THESE IS SOMETHING NOW TUGGING AT RISE'S LEG UNDERWATER.]

[It's something red in the water. Tugging her leg again! Dun dun duuun!

[—actually, that's probably not a good thing.

Rise doesn't have any formal training in lifesaving, but what she can do is swim (passably) so she'll dive into the water and attempt to pull him out.

SORRY IF IT TOOK HER A WHILE TO NOTICE. Because really, trying to pull him out from where she was standing— well, she'd sink too.]

[Waaait wait wait why is she swimming down to him, this wasn't meant to happen. He was aiming for her to maybe freak out a little, because hey, mystery thing pulling you from under the water. If she didn't react he would have surfaced a moment later and give up.

And now he's being pulled up-- Aaah. Ah. What if she thought something was wrong and that's why she's acting this way. It doesn't look like she's laughing or anything from what he can tell through the water.

Once his head is above water, Caius takes a deep breath and stares at Rise.]

You didn't need to do that you know. [...] You were meant to shriek or something. [...cough.] The slide was fun?

[She looks mostly terrified for a moment till he breathes— normally.

And her shoulders hunch in relief. Haaaaaaaah.]

[Welp uh. Maybe he went too far? Or maybe she just totally over-reacted! Yeah!

...This is a little awkward.]
