It's cold out there today, isn't it? Sure, it's not snowing but once you get into the Battle Dome, it'll be comfortably warmer. Warmer, not warm. Follow the tiny paper arrows and you'll probably find yourself in, well...summer!

It certainly looks convincing enough (a pool, a volleyball court, deck chairs, everything that you'd think you'd find at a pool party) and feels convincing enough (take off that coat! Aren't you hot?) so why not not step in? The barbecue's sizzling and there's some nice cold drinks at the cooler.

C'mon in, the water's awesome!

[He did. Shiemi takes a seat, but not before looking at the umbrella once more with embarrassment.]

Was the nap nice? [Before she ruined it?]

Not bad. [He smiles at her slightly, seeing how embarrassed she still looks.] And long enough.

[At least he enjoyed it. Hm, should she ask him a question? Yes.]

A-are you new?

[He just smiles back.]

Not at all. Are you?

I wouldn't say I'm new or old... My first day was in November.

Are you making friends?

Y-yes, I think I am! [More friends than back home, even. But she still misses them, and hopes they're well.]

Does Minato have very many friends?

I think so. Most people here are friendly.

[Impressive, Minato! She smiles at him with a look of admiration.]

They are! It makes Luceti [kind of] nice.

[hey, there's nothing to admire here.] We all start in the same situation.

Even so... I've really like being here. Even if some other people don't.

[She wants to go home, yes, but she doesn't hate it here. Not at all.]

[Shiemi looks at him curiously. Shifts? She's only ever heard them be called experiments before.]
