Who: Everyone! New Feathers especially.
What: New Feather welcome party!
When: Thursday, 5 pm.
Where: Battle Dome
Summary: IT'S A SUMMER PARTY
Rating: Worksafe, I reckon!
It's cold out there today, isn't it? Sure, it's not snowing but once you get into the Battle Dome, it'll be comfortably warmer. Warmer, not warm. Follow the tiny paper arrows and you'll probably find yourself in, well...summer!

It certainly looks convincing enough (a pool, a volleyball court, deck chairs, everything that you'd think you'd find at a pool party) and feels convincing enough (take off that coat! Aren't you hot?) so why not not step in? The barbecue's sizzling and there's some nice cold drinks at the cooler.

C'mon in, the water's awesome!
talontrot: (aren't i the cutest asshole ever?)

"Just lucky, I guess." Kazooie's oversized, glassy green eyes study Adele's face with no short amount of amusement, as though Adele were the strange one here.

"Back where I'm from, everybody talks! ... Heck, everything talks. You know how weird it is when you go down to the store and the oranges don't talk? That's weird!"
fleurdesel: left, smile, smirk, confused, sarcastic (The punchline is...?)

"...Everything talks. That is disconcerting on a fundamental level. If oranges talk, how are you to eat them without feeling like a murderer?" Adele is still looking from her book and back over to the bird, mind a little warped by...the fact it exists. And the fact it's that same voice that spoke of 'minigames' before.
talontrot: PM me if you want this to come down or know who made it! (something smells fishy)

Existential crises hardly faze Kazooie. She idly preens one wing, drawing the rasterized pixels through her beak.

"Well, they tell you they're tasty. I don't think they care if you eat 'em." An unbirdlike shrug - birds can't even shrug like that - and Kazooie looks up at Adele again.

"'Sides, when we're talking about stuff like food... what's the difference between that and what other guys do? Eating meat and stuff..."
fleurdesel: right, smirk, angry, confused, sarcastic (Forgive me if I don't trust you)

"The meat isn't still talking to you up to the point where you take a bite." The sheer...mind boggling disparity between their surroundings and the rasterized, pixelated, badly rendered bird in front of her has Adele checking the tea she'd been drinking for anything that might have hallucinogenic properties. No. Nothing in it did.

"...one day I will no longer be surprised by who I meet here. One day."
talontrot: (i still have a fanbase!)

"I guess, but oranges tell you they're tasty? Who'm I to turn 'em down when they do that?"

It's true, too. The orange she gave to Chimpy practically begged to be eaten...

"... And I'm not even the only cartoon here," Kazooie mentions, again offhandedly. "There's Oswald, too. But he's from a show or somethin', not a game..."
fleurdesel: left, angry, serious (I can't be bothered)

"Certainly not crazy at all." Or delusional. Adele wasn't certain she wished to continue this conversation should it turn in the same direction as the last did. With that in mind she none too subtly flipped her book back open and continued to read. Ignore the strange cartoon talking bird. Ignore her.

"...do I want to know what Oswald is?"
talontrot: (i remember better days on the n64)

Delusional, yeah - that's a good word for Kazooie. Though in a way she doesn't even know. The thing about her world is that she is normal there. It's here that seems strange to her.

If she realizes she's being ignored, though, Kazooie doesn't register it yet. She just carries on as if Adele was paying perfect attention.

"A lucky rabbit, of course! His shows are kinda old, he says. Classics."
fleurdesel: right, tired, sad (And here's me. Again.)

[personal profile] fleurdesel 2012-02-14 08:55 am (UTC)(link)
"...a lucky rabbit. Fascinating." Adele found it anything but. She was fully immersed in her book again, ignoring the bird now.
talontrot: (this egg's going right up your ass)

[personal profile] talontrot 2012-02-16 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, that's just rude. Not that that means much, coming from Kazooie. And Kazooie can tell when she's being ignored.

"Hey, look, if your stupid book is that exciting you could at least say so!"
