Who: Everyone. New Feathers! Old Feathers...?
What: New Feather welcome party.
When: 18th, 6 pm onwards.
Where: Welcome Centre.
Summary: This is a party. There's food and games (if you like) but the idea behind it is basically to mingle mingle mingle. Maybe make a new friend/enemy/frenemy or two?
Rating: G-PG 13 at most? There might be kids in these things, man.

The all-day rain outside makes the entire atmosphere a little drippy, a little wet, a little miserable. But rain or not, the party must go on! Or at least, so the saying goes.

It's a cosy little setup-- food, warm drinks, tables and chairs to lounge around in. So come on in, dry yourself off, have some fun. Why the hell not? The weather outside is frightful.

We are necromancers, but also uncorrupted Charter mages. It's our responsibility to make sure the Dead, other Free magic creatures do not bother the living...as well as dealing with those who would wish to summon such things.

...so you're saying that because you know Charter magic, Free magic can't corrupt you?

[Molly is having a hard time completely buying this.]

It's a special trait of my bloodline. It's hard to explain without getting confusing.

[She... can buy some sort of bloodline immunity, though.]

Meeting a sane necromancer is confusing enough. [Molly smiled and shook her head.] I think I get it. A little. Thanks for filling me in.

It's alright. To be honest the only other necromancer I've met was my father who was Abhorsen before me. [Well...not quite if she thinks about it. Kerrigor was a necromancer wasn't he? At least he had been when he had been living.]

No, that isn't it. Twilight is a unicorn, so she's learning magic.

[Ariel nods once to his question, then tilts the headphones again. Put them over her ears... Like he did, right?

Slowly, she puts them on, though she did it backwards. Maybe they're supposed to feel weird?]

[A couple of weeks... So she really is very new here. And it's a relief to see that she can read; she's already run into two people who can't, and it can be difficult to communicate with them.

She looks through her flashcards, making a face at the fact that there's not really a good one for this. But she does hold one up, a sheepish smile on her face as she knows it's a bit of an odd question.]

"Are you having fun?" [Though she'd like to say "How have you been doing here so far?"]

You got them on backwards. [Kouki reach out to take them off. Turning them around, he place them over her ears again.] It's this way.

[Now that he looks at her, Ariel got her own "cat ears".]

"I'll visit you whenever I can! But how can I be a volunteer?"

[Ariel hasn't done much with medicine, after all. And... well, she certainly hopes she won't be a patient, but considering how many times she's fallen over ever since she arrived...]

[And now she's eager to shift the conversation.]

What about you--what are your parents like?

[She grins and nods.] Alright! I'll lead. Let me see if I can remember this one my mother taught me...[Most of the dancing Rapunzel did she made up on her own. But her mother had taught her a few things upon her insistence, despite the fact that she was never to have a chance to use them.

But things change.] I think she called it a waltz. Have you heard of it before?

[Her eyes light up.] Oh, I've read stories about unicorns! But they aren't supposed to be real. Your friend really is one? A magic one?

That's right! They're not too picky about it.

So, are you one of the New Feathers?

[He might as well make friendly conversation to help lighten the mood!]

[Groose is... really surprised. It's easy to see the surprise on his face when Rapunzel says that. He almost doesn't believe her, but... Well, who knows.]

Whoa! You serious? If you really did that, then I'm sure you're a great fighter!

I don't think it would be that big of a deal if that was the case. [He laughs.]

[Rue looks alarmed when Katniss begins to cough, but oh, much better. Better something to come up than to stay stuck down.]

Oh no, I didn't, but I saw a magic show! There was a man making all sorts of animals out of light! They were very pretty and he was so nice.

That's totally weird. But awesome too. I'm not there anymore though. Moved to New York.

OH! They're the best. I mean, a lot of parents usually reject their kids if they find out their a mutant, but mine totally support me an everything I do. I'm, like, so lucky.

[He blinks.]

You found an assistant for your inventing? Here?

[He'd basically seen a lot of kids so far, so...]

Yeah, you're telling me. I think it'd just confuse me more if I had to talk with people who ... potentially know a lot about me. [He pauses, his lips quirking into a frown.] It seems kinda unfair.
