A Day In Another World

Who: Anyone in the event
What: For 21 hours, pairs of characters will get to visit one of their worlds
When: Sunday morning, from 1AM to 10PM (in Luceti time)
Where: Somewhere else!
Summary: It's described here. One person will play the host, another the visitor.
Rating: Keep it clean, kids! Move your icky business to appointments posts.

Quick run of things to keep in mind:

-The pair of characters will return to the host's canon point. The host will temporarily return to their physical state at whatever their canon point was.
-Anything they do will be undone after they return to Luceti.
-If they are going to be part of the Alternate Universe aspect of the event, they won't remember the visit until after they have returned to normal.

Disclaimer: Visiting canon worlds will mean having to NPC characters that may already exist in Luceti, but will have no memory or knowledge of it. Be respectful and in character and bear in mind that these do not reflect upon characters in game!

ALSO! Threading out the visit is 100% optional. You're entirely free and encouraged to discuss and handwave what goes on if you want. But if you would like to thread it out, you may do so here.

[It is not. And so when the train stops, he adjusts himself to get better in the seat. He doesn't try to speak just yet]

[She shifts forward as if to move just as the doors open, but--

He'll just follow you, Katara.

So instead she leans back and away with a sigh.

Of note: She's buttoned the cardigan all the way up over her shirt.]

[He leans back in this seat... he doesn't try to talk yet. He can tell she's mad - really mad - if she got lost in this city she doesn't know like this. He leans back, folding his arms. they have four more stops until Akiba anyway]

[His arms on his head like that encroach on her space which prompt her to speak a lot sooner than she normally would. Albeit, she speaks far more formally, as if to a stranger who'd done something distasteful.]

I would appreciate it if you would lower your arms.

I would "appreciate" it if you didn't give me a heart attack.

[Not. Lowering. That was probably the coldest he's sounded to her in a long, long time. If ever, actually. His tone isn't flat, it's honestly angry]

[She doesn't care. She doesn't care about his tone. If he won't get out of her space, she'll move, even if this thing is terrifying in its speed.

Katara starts to stand up. If she succeeds in this motion, she won't go far, still hanging on the handrail but moving to stand in the small avenue by the doors.]

[His eyes narrow. Is she ... where is she? Oh. she's not going far. He doesn't stop her, but he's all but glaring now. Huh, so she's offended, by something? Maybe that was too mean. But why would she have concluded that?]

[Standing, the motion-sickness is worse. It's moving so fast and she can't see where she's going...

Katara closes her eyes tightly and strengthens her grip on the rail.

Breathe.

...she's too angry for it to work. She's too hurt. And she'd love to return his statement, "I would appreciate it if you didn't make me feel cheap and small; I would appreciate it if you wouldn't deliberately try to hurt me."

But she had reacted to secure her space too quickly, and talking with him now would mean opening up a conversation with him again, and until some of the initial wave of anger faded, she did not want to give him the satisfaction.]

[Really, he just stares at her, the whole time they is going. He doesn't move, doesn't shift, just stares, keeping a close eye on her. Next stop. Still not theirs. He doesn't move still. He's trying to work it out, but... he's also pissed. He needs to simmer down]

[The train jerks to a stop and she sways with it abruptly. With an apologetic smile to the businessman who came up behind her, Katara moves to claim his seat. It's away from the guardrail, on the opposite row from Masaomi and two seats to his left. She's not angry enough to keep her standing when she's starting to feel as if she'd be sick any moment - in fact, she might be looking a little pale - and if worst comes to worse, she can just grab hold of the seat beneath her.]

[...The mood shifted. He can tell this through even his annoyance. He actually starts a bit when someone came up behind her but no, no. It's broad daylight, of course that wouldn't actually be a problem. ... He should stand and make it over to her. but...

You know what, screw it, he'll stand and slide his way over to her. Now that he's got his footing, he knows that he can't be tripping as much as before, which is why he gets to a point that he can stand near her]

Two more stops.

[Go away.

If you don't move, I might throw up on you.

Why would you do that, why would you ever, ever do that? I didn't do anything to deserve it.

Hey, if you stand a little more to the left, maybe you'll be able to catch a glimpse down my shirt. That's what you want, right?

She says none of these things. She just nods and tears one hand off of the seat to place it, not on her necklace, but on the high neckline of her cardigan, making sure that the last sarcastic line was not a reality. Her knees and ankles were pressed tightly together, skirt smoothed down, and her shoulders remained slumped.]

You scared me, you know.

[Lightly. He doesn't need to say much more than that if she's saying nothing to him. He'll just say his piece]

[I didn't care.

You hurt me, you know.

I wasn't thinking about it - I just wanted to get away.

Now you know how it feels.

Her lips press into a line for a long moment.

No. Deal with it, Katara. He's not going away any time soon.]

I didn't mean to worry you.

[Her tone is still formal and distant.]

Ah. I don't know if you did or didn't.

[In this moment, he's actually not sure. He shrugs, looking at the window on the train. He looks at that for a moment before looking down at her. He's not sure if this is the real motivation for his whole reaction]

...However, do you know why I'm personally sorry you didn't get to go home? The answer's a little odd, actually... [He knows he's going to attract looks He's dismissing it] It's that while I made other plans [with Shikamaru], while I hoped you could get what you wanted [To go home]... I'm also glad it is you that is here with me, able to see my home.

But she raises her head, her eyes still suspicious...]

You're saying that you're sorry because you're glad I'm here.

That's right.

[He shifts again, sighing]

[She refuses to melt.]

You've got a funny way of showing it.

Oh yeah? What do you think I am, Katara?

Right now? A jerk and a pervert. [And some of the pain leaks into her voice as her hand catches the material of her cardigan into a fist.]

But before that, I thought you were my friend. I still do. [Although I'm wondering why right now.] But you deliberately set out to hurt me. Again. When you know I'm depending on you here. And before that...

[She trails off. Now that the heat of her anger has cooled, it's harder to bring up insults of a sexual nature.]

I am your friend. [A beat] But, Katara, I don't even know what you're talking about.

That whole business before the train got here. First you go off about the "whole new light" you get to see me in [She blushes and - oh look, there's her indignation] and then you slide close and whisper that I don't believe you? Are you honestly going to stand there and tell me that you didn't mean for that to hurt?

I might be here on my own, but I don't have to put up with that. I won't just stand there and let you tear into me to make some sort of sick point.

[She exhales angrily.] Right now?

[While we're stuck on the train? It figures he'd want to do this while I'm trapped.

...but honestly, there's some part of her that hoped this was a misunderstanding, hoped that he'd be able to clear it up... and that's the part of her that gets her to say]

[Instead of "I'm not in the mood for questions right now and hoping something isn't going to hurt me isn't good enough.]
