A Day In Another World

Who: Anyone in the event
What: For 21 hours, pairs of characters will get to visit one of their worlds
When: Sunday morning, from 1AM to 10PM (in Luceti time)
Where: Somewhere else!
Summary: It's described here. One person will play the host, another the visitor.
Rating: Keep it clean, kids! Move your icky business to appointments posts.

Quick run of things to keep in mind:

-The pair of characters will return to the host's canon point. The host will temporarily return to their physical state at whatever their canon point was.
-Anything they do will be undone after they return to Luceti.
-If they are going to be part of the Alternate Universe aspect of the event, they won't remember the visit until after they have returned to normal.

Disclaimer: Visiting canon worlds will mean having to NPC characters that may already exist in Luceti, but will have no memory or knowledge of it. Be respectful and in character and bear in mind that these do not reflect upon characters in game!

ALSO! Threading out the visit is 100% optional. You're entirely free and encouraged to discuss and handwave what goes on if you want. But if you would like to thread it out, you may do so here.

[She shrugs a little. She can't help it. There's always going to be a part of her that wants to store something up, just in case.

But she trusts him to know what he's doing with his funds... mostly.]

Besides, this is Tokyo, not Osaka. [Smirk. Okay, he's collected all he figures he needs, leaving about five thousand in there just in case. Because of her suggestion]

[Okay, going to put the shoebox away again ...Should he change out of the Raira uniform? That might actually be a good idea]

Oh, I see. [Pause a beat.] So what do you want to go do with all of that?

I dunno. Sunshine City? Akiba? Shibuya? All of the above? Might be pretty cool.

[Okay, away and. Yes, he should change.]

I'd aaask what you want, but then I guess you'd just tell me you won't know them.

And I'd say we could do what you want, but that would just get us in trouble.

[A quick smile.]

Seriously, though. You pick. I'll let you know if it gets too... [she flounders for a word for a moment] much.

[As he starts to flip through his shirts.]

[She eyes him warily.]

I'm not sure. It depends what you have in mind.

[Mostly yes, but on her terms.]

Well then [With his back to her still, flipping through shirts]

I'm going to stick with the kiss.

[She can not believe he just went there again.]

[And she raises her hand to lightly cover her eyes.

Stop it.]

I'm serious. [And he sounds it too, he's not even trying to project flippant here]

I get one day, a whole day to prove an impression, riiight? If, by the end of the day, you had a good enough time.

[And he spins in place, facing her now with a grin]

You can decide if I earned it.

"Earned it?" Kisses aren't prizes.

[She runs through what he said one more time and then redirects her tirade on 'the value of kisses' to something even more important.

She takes a half-step closer to him.]

Besides, I don't want this to be about you thinking that you have to impress me. I just want this to be about you and me - you getting to show me the things that you like, where you live, this other side of who you are. No pressure. Just us hanging out.

[Where he lives, what he likes, the other side of who he is. To be honest, she's right. All of those things, he would be so glad to show them to her. And now that he's here under these circumstances, something else hits him all at once. Namely, that being here with her means his plans with Shikamaru failed. It also means... her plans failed. More than likely, she didn't want to be here. It wasn't her choice, and she would rather be home. The realization, delayed this long, hits him with the force of a mac truck. He looks at her face very somberly]

...I'm sorry that you didn't get to go to your home.

[Katara gives a sudden, sharp little sound of pain - a gasp, really, a quick inhalation of breath, because that slipped right to the side of her defenses and made her way to her heart like a stiletto through her rib cage.

And it hurts.]

It's okay.

[And she turns away.]

I never got back to him anyway, once Aang showed up...

[He was here now, and she didn't want to take the risk of leaving him alone, even if he wasn't... "her" Aang. He was still Aang, if just from a time she hasn't experienced yet.]

And - everyone else that I would have seen is here. I mean, except Toph, but I just saw her a few months ago. She probably would have just been confused at the hug. And - we were just headed into an abandoned island in the Fire Nation anyway. It's not like it would have been any fun for anyone.

[And it's not like the Fire Nation was her home. It could never be that. But it would have been her world, her world's animals, her world's time, her world's air, and rules, and purposes...

Who knows when she'd have the chance to see it again?

She misses it right now with an ache so strong it almost physically hurts.]

[...He's really not sure if this is the moment or not. He sort of hangs there in space, looking at how she's turned away from him, commenting about the specifics of something he knows very simply she is trying to convince herself of. It's not right. He can't really do anything about though... he can't really say he would have liked to have gone there (because he promised Shikamaru their own plan) and he can't really give her... her, well, world. All has has is this foreign world (and what good is that) and himself.

...Himself, huh?

You know what, she has ample time to resist or do more given his period of hesitation here, but with how she's turned away... You know what, he's blown a few other things today, so he's just going to go for it. He's going to go in for the hug. If it ends up being a bad move he'll just make some excuse later]

[Focused inward as she is, Katara doesn't notice Masaomi moving forward until it's too late. She stiffens in his embrace, as equally unprepared for the comfort as she was for the initial assault. Her emotions just haven't caught up to the reality yet - she doesn't know when she'll see her home again.

She'd rather not have the awareness of that made so painfully blatant - it's okay, he's just trying to do what's right. Katara shuts her eyes against tears and briefly returns his embrace before pulling away.]

It's okay - really. It's not going to be forever. I know I'll be back one day.

[generalflirt]

[And then when the embrace is broken he... well. Doesn't resist it. But he nods, yeah. She will be back "one day." At this moment he doesn't even recognize the obvious fact that when she does he will never see her again.]

She hates that she's been torn from her home like this - that all of them have. Everything about this is wrong.]

[She looks up at him and forces a smile.]

Anyway! We should just focus on enjoying today. It's not every day I get to go to another world.

[And it's not every day you get to go home.

She begins to think of how she can make sure that he goes to see the people he should see.]

So true! Today's a day only for us, here in my home world. [He turns on his heel now, looking back at the closet...]
