[A fine coincidence, then - because in a moment of neglect and more than a little frustration, Chopper isn't watching where he's going, either. He isn't exactly running, so the collision isn't hard, but it's enough to send him blinking before he realizes quite who he's just bumped into.]

...Does such a thing really need to exist? All one needs to do is just keep their toes apart, it's not that hard. [Such a needless little thing, are people really so lazy as to need to use them?]

[ Cloud never was a SOLDIER either... but it's a fact that's touchy enough that, for better or worse, Lightning's not going to correct the misunderstanding for now. Even she can't say for sure whether they ever really got along here in Luceti, but Hojo really managed to fuck that guy up. And that's not something everyone needs to find out about when he's not around. ]

Deserter's the technical term.

[ "Shoot on sight until incapacitated and drag back if she survives" is probably the more accurate one for her in particular. "Wanted dead or blown to bits" might work for the men.

Needless to say, Lightning's voice has dropped to a bitter mumble. The irony is that she came here to get her mind off having to insist that what she remembers as her past isn't a lie... and now she's having to talk about it and doesn't want to. ]

[Recognition is the reason Jixsan keeps a more acidic tone of voice to himself, now that his plan of avoidance has been shot to the ground. It crosses his mind to flee the scene before Chopper gets another word in, and in fact, he steps back two paces.]

... Hey Chopper. [Even when addressing an enemy, Sanji's tone has never sounded so wooden and flat. And it marks a very odd contract to the Nobody's expression: eyes half-lidded with suspicion and wariness, as if he expects the reindeer to attack him.]

[concasse]

Back on your world, you mean? [he doesn't turn when Ace speaks, but his voice is attentive nonetheless.]

[What?! You thought you're getting away from those smashed dounts so easily!?] HEY! Get back here you! You owe me new donuts! [Vash will be chasing after you now. Congratulations. Maybe he'll follow you home.]

[Voice]

Me either. I wonder what they want us to forget about this time.

[concasse]

What about you? Malnosso plant any batshit memories in your head?

[Because of course you'd be able to tell, Wolfwood]

Blackmail, information, pointless torture... [He rattles off a short list of possibilities]

Most likely information, though. The Malnosso don't seem the types to keep around thorns in their sides unless there's something in it for them.

If there's an Earth in my particular universe, don't see why not...
