[Edward very nearly misses her - simply because it hadn't occurred to him that Ran Fan would be walking. He can't remember ever seeing her just. Wandering down the street. Rooftops, lamp posts, alleys... but this? No.

He stops and stares for a moment, almost calling out immediately before he notices her posture. It's hard to tell behind the mask, but...]

...Ran Fan? You okay?

[She clearly wasn't okay because Edward actually surprised her. Ran Fan actually jumped back, grabbing a kunai ready to defend herself. Though, she wasn't sure against what. It was just a natural reaction to being surprised for her.]

Edward?

[Quickly, she put away her weapons. She had no intention of harming Ed. So, to apologize, she bowed.]

I'm sorry. I didn't realize you were there.

Don't worry about it. You must've been pretty caught up in something to not even notice me, though.

[He didn't think it was even possible to sneak up on her.]

[Well, it was... apparently. Blame Ling.]

I was. I should've been paying closer attention to where I was going. Can I help you with anything?

[She still looks bothered by something.]

Yes... [Which meant no.]

[This is really making him wish he was better at reading people. Even seeing her expression for once isn't helping him much.]

I'm okay. I'm- [...No, Edward, you really shouldn't say what you were going to say there. Something is definitely bothering her or she wouldn't be walking around the way she had.] ...I'm fine. Is Ling back to normal too?

[She likes talking about Ling, right?]

[The mention of Ling's name does get a reaction though. She turns away blushing, nodding in reply.] He is.

Wait, he didn't seriously ask you out, did he?

[ROBO-LING TRIED TO GET A DATE!?]

[AH! HOW DID HE KNOW?!?!] Have you spoken to Ling about this?

Not exactly. He brought up the idea when he was still that weird robot-guy.

No. He did no such thing with me. [Too bad she's still blushing.]

Uh... nothing important, I guess. It was just a temporary change.

[The important stuff was when he went home, but... he's not really sure he should mention that. He'd seen Fu's body, after all.]

I did not, and I am grateful that I didn't. These experiments already embarrass me enough.

When I left, he was still at the apartment, so you can check to see if he is there.

No. I'm in need of extra training, so I have left his side for the time being.
