[Lies. All of it. Fake. The fact is slamming against his memory. But that isn't what she needs right now. He doesn't, either.

So he'll just wait, leaning against the wall there. If she needs something, she'll ask. He hopes. At least.]

[Yeah. That's probably best for now. So he can...sort his thoughts. Or some shit. Hell if he knows what he's going to do now.]

[And he'll step back towards the living room, then. His mind is still swimming, and he can't make out his own feelings in the mess of the sea inside him.]

[She carefully makes her way around him - but it's habit more than actual awareness of her bare skin. Her mind is occupied, her heart is full.

She pauses at the door frame without looking back.]

[He stops, only half-turned towards her.]
