They just...[She lowers her head.]

That's so sad...they never got to know what it was like to be alive. [She looks to Ion.] And I can't even imagine how much pressure you were under. I thought all this time you just another kid like me. [A small smile] But you know, knowing this doesn't change anything. I'm still happy to be your friend, Ion and I really appreciate you telling me more about yourself.

[Ion was never really sure what to expect when he told people he was a replica, and this time was no exception. But with those last few words, he lets out a soft sigh he hadn't realized he'd been holding back. It doesn't change anything... Yui was always so kind, it's a wonder how he could have expected anything less!]

[He stays quiet for a moment or two, before suddenly raising his head and looking up towards the sky.]

You know, it made me really happy. Being your little brother... and even though I know none of it really happened, I still feel as though I should thank you. [He smiles, looking happier now than he's probably looked all day.] You were always taking such good care of me. I know I don't have much to compare it with but... I thought you were a wonderful sister, Yui.

IT IS OK BB. IT IS OK

[She smiles at his words. Saying she was a wonderful sister...]

I've always been an only child, but...I've always thought about what it would be like, having a little sister or brother. [She looks to him with the biggest grin on her face]

And you turned out to be the best little brother I could have ever ask for. I was happy to be your big sis.

[Somehow, even knowing it hadn't really happened to him, that made Ion so happy to hear. The only other chance he'd gotten at having a "real" family was during that one Malnosso experiment... but this was different. This was someone he had, perhaps in some other universe, actually grown up with. And even as the memories faded, his own feelings during that time still lingered in his mind.]

Yui...

[He looks back up at the night sky, taking a deep breath before suddenly jumping to his feet. When he turns back down to look at Yui, he holds out his hand for her to take. The smile on his face is still just as bright as it had been moments before.]

...there's something I want to show you. It's... something Haru wanted you to see.

[Yui blinks, puzzled for a moment.] Ah...all right.

[Curious, but smiling back at Ion, she picks up her trombone case and takes Ion's hand]

Where to?

It's not too far... you remember that clearing in the north part of the village with all the cherry trees, right?

[The same place Haru pretty much spent everyday going back and forth from, since it had so many flowers. And that's the direction he's going to start leading her towards, explaining as they walk.]

I'm not sure if I-- he ever brought it up, but there was something here he was looking for. It's strange, but... somehow it was only after I became myself again that I realized what it was.

...Maybe it's because Haru hasn't really left. Eventhough you're Ion again, Haru is still a small part of you.

A small part of me... [He wasn't sure how to feel about that. Haru felt like an entirely different person from who he was now. Their memories, their feelings, their experiences... they were all different, even if they were, at the core, the same person. The had as much in common as, say... himself and Florian. To consider Haru and himself the same...]

[Or maybe he's simply over thinking it? Would it really be better to think that Haru simply didn't exist anymore? If those memories had been a part of Ion's life, maybe he would be more like Haru. But, memories or not, that didn't change the fact that he was still himself. He was more than just a replica, more than just a replacement... that was something not even the Malnosso could take away.]

[He doesn't say anything, only smiling as he continued to lead Yui towards the north end of the village. As they begin to near the cherry trees, however, he takes a sharp left into another part of the forest.]

[And after a minute or so of walking, they reach another, smaller clearing. And even though it's night and the moon is sitting high in the sky, dozens of flowers fill the area, gently swaying in the wind.]

[Yui at first was quiet. She blinks once and then quietly stares at the scenery before her. A small "oh..." escaped her as she was in awe by the patch of flowers that seem to glow under the moonlight.]

...Ion, this... [She takes a few steps towards the flowers and then turns back around to Ion] Is this what Haru...what you wanted to show me?

[distressedude]

[Ion doesn't say anything as Yui takes in the sight, following just a few steps behind her as she walks out towards the flowers. When she turns back to him, he nods with a small smile before looking down towards the flowers.] I suppose I only remembered it because it was on my mind so often, but... in my memories of growing up in your world, I had a dream where I found flowers just like these. They're called selenias, and they only bloom at night. They were so beautiful, and I wanted you to see them too... but I could never find one that looked quite like it. Not even here.

[He crouches down and gently plucks one of the flowers from the ground. Then, straightening up, he holds it out towards Yui.]

I think... that's why I spent so much time outside looking at flowers all the time. I hoped that someday I'd be able to find these and show them to you. [A soft chuckle.] I guess I never considered trying to look for them after sunset.

They're beautiful...! [ She turns back around to Ion and sees him offering a flower to her. She then smiles warmly at Ion as she reaches and holds his hand in both of hers.]

Thank you, to you and to Haru for sharing this place with me. I'll definitely cherish this place since you spent so much time to find it for me. It...really means a lot to me that you would.
