The Cultural Fair
Who: Everyone! Or as close to that as possible, please. \o/
What: The Cultural Fair
When: April 25th-26th, though the earlier set-up days (22nd, 23rd, and keeping everything dry on the 24th) are also encouraged to help get a feel for it
Where: All around the town square
Summary: Also here.
Rating: ... is this a thing?
Note: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier. Work was probably started for it on the 22nd-23rd for labor purposes, sheltering things from the weather on the 24th, and the actual Fair is on the 25th-26th, so using any of those dates and figuring out where your characters are helping would be good. CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth.
I'll leave the descriptions up to you all as there probably isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about it. Think of it as something on a much smaller scale than the festival from a year ago, definitely, but how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. That said there are plenty of unique sights, so enjoy browsing! Thank you!
(Also, please add your name tags!)

My eyebrows went up, skeptically challenging.
"I seem to recall crossing your bridge with my jacket still on. And now, you claim not to have it. I can only assume somebody else absconded with it after you left."
no subject
Yes. Lupin's odd alter-ego had made off with it.
"'F I were you? I'd track down one Monsieur Lupin of the red cape or whoever the hell he was."
no subject
I frowned. The name rang a bell, though I couldn't place it off the top.
"Alright, I'll follow up on that. Meanwhile, you never answered my question. Is this a scam, or legit?"

I glanced down at the coconuts, then back up at him.
"So my suggestion? Double or nothing. The winner is square with the loser, the loser owes the winner two favors. What say you, captain?"

I shrugged. "But hey, if you don't think shooting me and stealing my jacket merits a favor owed, I can always turn you into a toad or something. I am a wizard, y'know."
... Okay, I never would even if I could, and maybe he knew that, but it sounded good.

I chuckled.
"Alright, maybe not, but come on, man, this is a primo challenge of wits we're talking about."

And then I took forever to tag again. I'm getting bad about this.
Bauble, bauble. Something he might try to steal, that I'd be okay with losing.
Well, the pentacle was out of the question. I had only two pieces of magical gewgaw in this place and he'd already made off with one of them. Hmm.
I felt around my pockets. Lump of chalk didn't seem particularly appealing. Half-eaten bagel, when had I put that in there? Um, lint, lint, random coin- I thought there was no money? Oh. Huh. Arcade token. Weird. Hmm...
Well, there was the keychain I'd nabbed at the items shop. Black, metallic, the words "Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?" etched into one side.
Oddly appropriate. I removed the little black tag from the ring and handed it to him.
"Will this do?"
it's okay I am on hiatus anyway

I crouched down opposite his box, watching closely.
I wasn't even gonna use magic to cheat. I thought it was pretty decent of me, since I was pretty sure he'd cheat his heart out, but hey, I'm an upstanding guy.
no subject
"Right. Your turn to choose, mate."
no subject
Very, very fast indeed. I couldn't follow the coconuts, but I had a hunch, and I acted on it.
I reached out and slapped a hand down over the center coconut.
"It's under this one."
I didn't move my hand.
"Prove me wrong, Captain."

I reached out and tipped the box up toward me, and the telltale flash of black metal glinted at me.
"What's this? It was in the box, Sparrow. And the box was under the coconut I picked."
I grinned again.
"Bugger. Looks like I've won."

I reached out a hand and grabbed the keyring.
"We must do this again some time."
no subject
It might have been clear that Sparrow meant the opposite of all that.
