What: The Cultural Fair
When: April 25th-26th, though the earlier set-up days (22nd, 23rd, and keeping everything dry on the 24th) are also encouraged to help get a feel for it
Where: All around the town square

Note: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier. Work was probably started for it on the 22nd-23rd for labor purposes, sheltering things from the weather on the 24th, and the actual Fair is on the 25th-26th, so using any of those dates and figuring out where your characters are helping would be good. CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth.

I'll leave the descriptions up to you all as there probably isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about it. Think of it as something on a much smaller scale than the festival from a year ago, definitely, but how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. That said there are plenty of unique sights, so enjoy browsing! Thank you!

Forgive her while she cracks up over here for a moment, Jack.

[fleurdesel]

"Why, pray tell, are you so surprised by this? No one here has anything of value Jackie Dear."

[all7seas]

"That? Not true, lovely." He had the locket, after all; and that, to Jack, was worth more than everything in the village put together.

[fleurdesel]

"Nothing of value to anyone but themselves, I should say. And even then, perhaps not by much." She wipes at her eyes and looks back across, once more composed. "I did give you those rings after all."

[all7seas]

"Aye. And you'll be gettin' 'em back one day. I haven't forgotten it, woman."

[fleurdesel]

"They'll be of more use to you, Jackie. I've no one to share them with here, nor do I plan to be in a position to do so."

[all7seas]

"How, pray tell, will your rings be of use to me again?"

Apart from being sparkly? They were cursed. Jack was sure of it. Cursed by that D-word that Buffy hated so much.

[fleurdesel]

"You're a pirate. Pirates like bits of shine for their hair, hands, necks, and teeth, do they not? Melt them down, do with them as you will. Gold is, after all, still gold."

And cursed gold is cursed gold; he's certainly had his experiences with that.

"No thanks, darling. We'll get it sorted between us one day, fret not."

"As you will Jackie."

Adele shrugs. Cursed, not cursed, it hadn't been the gold that ended the marriage. A lack of it, honestly. And alcoholism. And infidelity. And a great many things that had been beyond her control. Attributing such a thing to a concrete item was more than a little silly to her.

"...care to wander the grounds, or would you rather remain and attempt to swindle others out of their hard earned balls of lint and shiny pebbles?"

"Since my swindling seems to have stalled, I could go for a walkabout with you, lass. Anything special in mind?" He stretches lazily and stands up from his spot.

[fleurdesel]

"Nothing in particular I'm afraid." Adele stands and dusts herself off, looking out at the rest of the fair for a moment.

[all7seas]

"You hungry?" Might as well get that out of the way; Jack, himself, was starting to feel peckish.

[fleurdesel]

"A bit, now that you mention it." She may have skipped lunch earlier. Normally she knew better but something the past few days made her feel a little heavier than normal. She can't quite put her finger on the why just yet.

[all7seas]

Lupin did not impregnate her, did he?

"So what're you in the mood for, then?"

[fleurdesel]

Nothing of the sort. Though were Jack to give her figure more than a passing glance he'd find it better resembled her shifted, bustier self than the small chested surgeon she'd been before.

"It's a festival, yes? Something fried. As long as it is not corn dogs." She shudders.

[all7seas]

"Corn dog?" That sounded...horrific. "We shall avoid them. Come, darling, and we shall feast, us two!"

[fleurdesel]

They were horrific Jack. They are horrific.

"Good." She offers Jack her arm with half a smile. "Lead on, Jackie Dear."

[all7seas]

"With a will, Adele darling!" His steps WILL eventually lead them toward the Water Tribe booth, because....mmmmm. Smells divine.

[fleurdesel]

"This is...Katara's world, yes?" Adele remembers a little from her handful of interactions with the young woman. Other than respect and some small curiosity at her 'water bending', there was not much she knew of her.

[all7seas]

"Sister of Thunderaxe? Aye. Katara. She's a tough customer, that lass."

[fleurdesel]

"A valuable member of the clinic staff as well."

[all7seas]

"Clinic staff? Katara?"
