When: April 25th-26th, though the earlier set-up days (22nd, 23rd, and keeping everything dry on the 24th) are also encouraged to help get a feel for it
Where: All around the town square

Note: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier. Work was probably started for it on the 22nd-23rd for labor purposes, sheltering things from the weather on the 24th, and the actual Fair is on the 25th-26th, so using any of those dates and figuring out where your characters are helping would be good. CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth.

I'll leave the descriptions up to you all as there probably isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about it. Think of it as something on a much smaller scale than the festival from a year ago, definitely, but how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. That said there are plenty of unique sights, so enjoy browsing! Thank you!

[And one the second day, which is a week from when they had talked on the 19th, Masaomi's actually here with his poem. Which is... in written form, but. He has it? Rolled up under his arm as, with some small wonder, he makes his way into the tent]

[For a moment, a truly miserable look crosses her face.]

...well, while you're here, would you like to see the tent? It's a pretty good example of how I grew up.

Yeah, sure, I'd like to see it.

All right, this way. [She gives a polite smile and heads in towards the tent.]

[Okay, okay, we're following now]

So - this is it! [She pulls back the flap and enters.] This is what the bigger tents look like at home.

[Smile, smile.]

Hoooh... it's pretty cozy looking in here, actually.

[Looking around with a little amazement, actually]

You think so?

Mm, yeah. I dunno if I'd last a winter in it, but to look around? It's impressive.

...well, I guess we did a pretty good job using what we had, even if none of the skins look right.

[generalflirt]

[He surveys some of the skins, and then looks back at her. And-] Why don't you tell me some of the skins that should be here?

[markofthebrave]

Well... the tent itself is usually made out of tiger-seal pelt. It's the same thing we make our parkas from, and it's very warm and water-resistant.

[Why are you making her talk to you, Gawd, just look at the tent and go away.]

[Because he is genuinely interested. And genuinely wants to know. See, look at this eyes? They are interested. and not just in her, but in her life back home. As is this little smile. So go on! as he runs a hand on some of the furs while the wrapped up thing is still underh is arm!!]

Some tents will have polar bear dog pelts, which are used as part of special ceremonies... and also make for really warm blankets.

Ah, actually, how big are those? Polar bear dogs, I mean. I think you said once polar dogs weren't all that big...

[markofthebrave]

They start out pretty normal - and there are some breeds which are domesticated - but wild polar bear dogs are very dangerous. They're probably about the size of this tent.

[You know. The tent where she's standing by the door still.]

I see, that's... very big, actually. [He nods to himself... and sighs. He can take a hint. He shakes his head and then passes her the scroll under his arm, which has his new poem on it. He's not exatly convinced it is his best work (he thinks his last one was better) but this one is written in fancy caligraphy writing (or as close to it as he gets)]

You going to watch that Dragon Dance thing? It's due to start soon.

[She takes the scroll, giving him a curious look.]

Yes. It's amazing, seeing some kind of community in firebending. I wouldn't miss it.

[But then she holds up the scroll.]

My second poem. [And he folds his arms behind his head, planning to walk out ahead of her with a smile to make his way over to the stage to be able to watch it. He... can sort of understand what she means, based on that AU memory ghost

As for the poem itself:]

Our circumstance
Often outside of command
We have tread the borderland

Take a moments glance
What was gained and was lost
