When: April 25th-26th, though the earlier set-up days (22nd, 23rd, and keeping everything dry on the 24th) are also encouraged to help get a feel for it
Where: All around the town square

Note: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier. Work was probably started for it on the 22nd-23rd for labor purposes, sheltering things from the weather on the 24th, and the actual Fair is on the 25th-26th, so using any of those dates and figuring out where your characters are helping would be good. CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth.

I'll leave the descriptions up to you all as there probably isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about it. Think of it as something on a much smaller scale than the festival from a year ago, definitely, but how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. That said there are plenty of unique sights, so enjoy browsing! Thank you!

"It's a magic pebble. Of course there's funny business."

Under the shell it goes. "Right -- your job? Keep your eye on the shiny, mistress! Or both, if you prefer!"

She smirked, smug. "I think I can manage that."

Hey, she did warn him.

Jack's hands moved like a flash, swirling and switching those shells around at top speed. Can you follow the magic pebble? Do you notice when he oh-so-smoothly lets it drop off the side of the box and into his boot?

She was maintaining the illusion on the pebble, so she didn't need to follow it, though she still tried. The question was, what would she do with the knowledge she'd been snookered? She wasn't sure.

"That's some mighty fine handwork, Mister..."

The pun, unfortunately, was intended.

"Captain, darling! Captain Jack Sparrow! None of this 'Mister' business. And aye; you're not the first wench to say that of me."

And then Captain Jack Sparrow called me a wench.

She debated whether or not this was a plus or a minus on the tally between herself and Harry as she cocked her hip and planted a hand on it.

"I'm not surprised to hear that. Am I the first to suggest using one of these coconut shells as a hat?"

"...You'd be very fetching in it, really, great tall girl like yourself!"

And he was being truthful about that. This girl was impressive.

Well. She'd meant she was considering smashing it down on top of his head, but hey, a compliment's a compliment. So she winked at him, "I'm not really big on covering my hair."

And then planted her hands on either side of the table and leaned down. "So it's under one of these, is it?"

"Aye. Just under one. That's all. You get one pick and one pick only, lovely. After that? It belongs to me. Or my Annie, more properly."

Liar. But she doesn't really expect anything different. She's extremely tempted to call him on it, but like most people whose skill depends on subtlety, Molly knows the value of being underestimated.

"Your 'Annie?'"

"My lovely one. My Annie. Got to get her a ruby pendant, you see. This will do nicely for it!"

And he wouldn't even have to go on another mission to acquire one!

Aww, now she felt bad. Not too bad, because he was cheating, but...

"You've never heard the story of Cinderella, have you."

She shook her head, "Besides, you haven't won it yet."

[all7seas]

"Cinderella? That the one about the filthy girl?" He nudged one of the shells into line. "Yet. I always win, I'll have you know. Shall we?"

[talentsgirl]

"The one about the filthy girl who had her rags magically changed into a fine gown, only to have the gown turn back into rags at midnight."

And what she had done was no true transformation at all - it was an illusion she was still holding. As soon as she let it go, it would be a rock again. But then, this is the second time she warned him.

"And I think you should roll up your sleeves before I pick."

Deftly he rolled them, then began switching the shells about, trying to defy her gaze with fast, swerving movements. When he finally stopped the dizzying operation, Jack couldn't help but smile. The stone was safe from ever being found.

"Go ahead, missy. Choose."

[talentsgirl]

...so... tempting. Just to call him on it. Or make it 'appear' in her hand. So tempting.

But she lived with temptations like this all the time. She hesitated just long enough and pointed to the coconut shell on the far left. "That one."

"Wrong!" Oh, this was getting fun! "Try again?"

[talentsgirl]

"Oh, best two out of three?" She pointed to the one far right.

[all7seas]

"Wrong! I win! Me!" He didn't bother lifting the final shell.

[talentsgirl]

"Aww, really?" She moved to turn over the shell herself. Except she couldn't help herself. And moved to turn over the one in the middle instead, the one which would have contained the 'ruby.'

[all7seas]

It was empty, of course. "Bugger...now where could have gone? That's magic, that is."

[talentsgirl]

"Oh, I don't know about that." She put her forefinger to her nose in a 'wise guy' fashion. "You should really be much more careful with magic."

And she knew a good exiting line when she heard one. Time to wink and make her escape. But there was a brief pause here as she stepped away from the table before she would say her farewell.

"Magic? Me? I'm careful! Ever so careful, lovely! Fare-thee-well!"
