When: April 25th-26th, though the earlier set-up days (22nd, 23rd, and keeping everything dry on the 24th) are also encouraged to help get a feel for it

Note: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier. Work was probably started for it on the 22nd-23rd for labor purposes, sheltering things from the weather on the 24th, and the actual Fair is on the 25th-26th, so using any of those dates and figuring out where your characters are helping would be good. CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth.

I'll leave the descriptions up to you all as there probably isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about it. Think of it as something on a much smaller scale than the festival from a year ago, definitely, but how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. That said there are plenty of unique sights, so enjoy browsing! Thank you!

Entertainers? [Was he entertaining himself by pairing up him and those others-no, no, Beast, just listen to what he has to say... it's not like you don't kind of enjoy your letters with Usagi anyway. Well... if an entertainer is supposed to make people laugh, this rabbit is going to have to try harder.

But that doesn't mean he's not sort-of-possibly interested in what he's saying. He doesn't quite understand what sections have to do with entertainers living there, but hm, educate him Oswald.] Why would they not... "need" you any... more?

That's uh... [C-cough.] Well, the audience is fickle. They adore you and watch your material all the time, then one day some new character comes along to catch their attention, and they forget all about you. [His ears droop for a few seconds, but then he perks up again.] But sometimes characters have this great comeback that has people remember how amazing they were! I'm pretty sure I'll have one too, some day!

[Yup. Surely one day, people will remember the lucky rabbit who came before the mouse. They'll fall in love with him all over again, and then maybe Oswald will get his heart back too. Ortensia and the kids too.]

They... forget you because there's someone else? [He's not sure how entertaining this rabbit is, but if someone's entertaining, doesn't that make them entertaining? It's all just entertainment to him.] How... can they forget and then remember again?

[kingofwaste]

Easy. They just need a little reminder. Say one fan finds one of my old cartoon shorts and shows it to someone else. And then they show it to someone else, and it gets spread across the land- No, the world! That's how characters make a comeback. As long as my old work reaches the right people, they can decide to give me new work.

[It's bound to happen someday. He still hasn't lost hope.]

["Cartoon shorts"? How would something like that spread across the world? No, think about the big question first.] But... wh-why do they forget before?

Well, it's not... It's not literally forgetting. Like I said, people are fickle. They get distracted by someone new and then they don't really look at the other cartoons anymore.

[Alright. Distracted. He understands that.] What are car-toons?

[kingofwaste]

It's uh... [How to explain this to someone like the Beast? Hm... Oh, he's got it!]

They're like books, see? They tell a story. Except instead of having to read words, people can watch pictures. There's loads of pictures in one cartoon short, and if you flip them in order real fast, it's like they're actually moving.

[Now his eyes really are widening now. Pictures that look like they're moving... it's far beyond anything he knows. But wait... it also sounds familiar, something like it once mindboggled him, what... oh!]

L-like... like mov... m-mov... movies? [That was what they were called, right?]

[kingofwaste]

Yes! Exactly like that! Except the images are drawn and it's not real people.

[tailasoldastime]

[Oh good, then he understands this! Sort of. Maybe. He hopes.] A-and... flipping drawings really fast makes them move?

[kingofwaste]

Sorta. It's like a visual illusion- like a magic trick. The drawings don't really move, it's just that it'll look like they do.

[tailasoldastime]

Oh. [Slightly disappointing... but still interesting.] ... You enter... e-enter... tain... by moving drawings... u-uh, I mean, uh, flipping... drawings s-so they look... l-like they... move? [He did get that right, didn't he?]

[kingofwaste]

Uhhh... Yeah, that sounds about right! [It's not really Oswald who entertains by flipping the drawings, rather he's in the drawings, but... Close enough.]

[tailasoldastime]

A... al... alright. [He thinks he has it... now he's looking back over at that strange cow.] What is that?

[kingofwaste]

[Ahah! Oswald waddles over to the cow to pat it on the back.] This... is my very own mechanical cow! It's like a cow, except made outta metal parts.

[tailasoldastime]

[He moves closer to it, examining said metal parts.] What does it do?

[kingofwaste]

She does what any cow does! She gives milk!

[The coow moos lazily and sits down on its rear, blinking. It may have started the day off enthusiastic, but now the poor creature is starting to grow tired.]

Well, that and she's my pal.

[tailasoldastime]

[His eyes nearly pop out of his head when she moves again, even if he already knew she could move. Now that he's paying better attention to her, he can see exactly how she moves... it's almost like a real animal but... not...]

This... th-this thing can give milk?

[kingofwaste]

Whoah, whoah whoah. She ain't a thing. She may be made of metal, but she's every bit a real cow!

[He pats the cow on its back, causing a resounding, hollow sound. It's just like knocking on a real milk tank. The cow doesn't seem to mind too much.]

[tailasoldastime]

Alright, fine, she's a... real... cow. [He doesn't sound very much like he believes it, but the cow is interesting nonetheless. The sound she makes with that tank is pretty fascinating...]

[kingofwaste]

Thanks! Hey, you want some milk? [He's got a mug lying around here somewhere...]

[tailasoldastime]

Milk? Uh... alright. [He hasn't had milk for drinking in a while, actually...]

[kingofwaste]

Great! [He walks over to the booth to grab the mug, then returns to the cow's side to prod it.]

C'mon, up you get. You've got a customer!

[The cow yawns widely and blinks its eyes for a moment, but then it gets to its feet anyway.]

[He stares quite intently at this strange machine that is yet a "real" cow. Its movements are a little unnerving in how real yet not-real they are, but... it's still a "real" cow...]
