Summary: It's that special time when the Malnosso collect all their recent experiments and apply them all at once to measure effectiveness. Although invaluable as research, it tends to leave the subjects looking just a bit mad.

( day 6 - 10 / may 31st - june 4th )

[ During these five days there's a little kid around the village. Nothing special, really, but said little kid usually can't be found around the village. Or.. well, it is, but usually he's at ten years older or so. Yes, Natsuno has been aged down for the event.

He's definitely still into exploring though, so you might find him anywhere in the village just staring at you as if you're worth being observed. He has a constant grumpy expression on his face though, no matter what. Please don't take it personally, it's just the way he is. ]

[Natsuno can explore all he wants, though he has to get back home or to the okonomiyaki restaurant at certain hours. Not only to get lunch and such but to not have his older brother worry. Ever since their parents and grandfather vanished in the forest Goku has been all Natsuno had just as the kid was all Goku had, so it was natural that he would be worried. If it was for him he would play and be with the kid the whole time, but they needed money and for that he had to work. Thank God, they still had the restaurant or things could have been difficult for them even in a peaceful place like Luceti.

If Natsuno happens to wander near the restaurant he will find Goku setting up a new menu with new prices for the next month.]

[ Hey, even as a kid he's responsible enough to realise he has to do at least that, okay. It's why he does eventually pop up near the restaurant again, his expression a little less grumpy but still a little.. apathic, almost. It's difficult to see any kind of expression on the boy's face after all aside from more towards the grumpy side.

He tugs a little on Goku's sleeve though once he reaches the guy's side. ]

.. I'm back. [ just plainly announcing it. ]

[To be honest, Natsuno's personality sometimes worries and confuses Goku, he can't help to wonder if it's his fault for not doing things right or if it's just due the absence of their parents. Natsuno was very young when they vanished after all. Kids should be happy and play around, not be grumpy and wander in silence staring at a few things before returning home... On the other hand he knows that despite what the kids expressions may tell, he is a happy and healthy kid, just... Not prone to show emotions. Which is what confuses him as he's not sure if it's something good or bad after all.

Goku picked up Natsuno's scent even before the kid approached, still he waited until the child called his attention, mostly in case that Natsuno was just wandering around. Once he feels the tug on his sleeve he turns to smile at his brother, ruffling his hair affectionately. Despite all the grumpiness and apathy, Natsuno's one of the cutest kids around if you ask Goku.]

Hey, welcome back. Did you have fun?

[ If Goku pays close enough attention there might be the sliiightest shift in the little boy's expression at the ruffle, as if he's actually showing just a little that he feels content. It soon goes back to the more blank face though - he really just doesn't show his emotions much, no.

Although asking Natsuno of all people the question like that.. 'fun'? 8| ]

.. It was interesting. [ That's clearly a valid answer to it. ] There were a lot of different people around.. [ and then he makes a face at that (the grumpy kind). ] Some were really loud and annoying.

[ Somehow this kid is criticising people much older than him.. he's just mature for his age. And likes to pretend that he's even more mature than that. ]

[It's a valid question, okay? Everyone has fun in some way and with different things even if other people may not consider those things as "fun". Goku just listens with attention and nods, laughing at the criticism people get from Natsuno... Honestly, he's pretty sure he himself is "loud and annoying" for the kid but he doesn't care.]

That's good! Well, not the part about people being annoying, I bet it's due the shifts that have been going on but everything will go back to normal soon. Did you find anything else that was interesting?

[When he was a kid Goku would go and explore the forest a bit in search for animals. Natsuno however may not like that.]

[ For a moment he's quiet, his expression not even shifting, but then he gets out something he had been holding behind his back - a small bag with some cookies. ]

They gave me these at the bakery.. I thought you'd want some.

[ See, proof that Natsuno does care abotu his big brother, despite seeming so increasingly apathic all the time - even now. But it's about what he does, not about the way he looks while doing it. Just like his usual self, realy. ]

I'm fine even without eating them.

[Goku has never actually doubted that Natsuno cares about him, he knows that well. It's the kid's feelings about the rest of the world what worries him at times but more often than not he ends thinking that if anyone has a problem with Natsuno it's their fault and their problem, not theirs.

He smiles widely at the bag of cookies before pulling the kid into a big hug. Sorry, Natsuno, but you can't do something that cute and not expect your brother to cling to you a big.]

Thank you, Natsuno! How about we have them for dessert? Half for you and half for me.

[Like hell he would leave his brother without food when he's such a good kid.]

[ KGHDFKJ THAT HUG. He's waving his arms to escape it a little, but nope, he's already trapped in it before he knows it and after a second or two he just decides to give up and accept it, even if he just leans a little passively. ]

Yes, that's okay. [ a small nod. ] What you want is fine with me.

[Goku just laughs at the kid's attempt to escape, holding him tightly and with all the love he has for him, which is a lot. And even if Natsuno may think he doesn't need hugs, Goku disagrees. Kids need hugs, lots of them and a hug was simply a great way to show care and love. Even now it always feels as if he's being healed whenever he gets a hug, it gives him a feeling of protection, being protected and having someone to protect. The simplest and most effective way to say "I'm here for you".]

You're a really good kid, Natsuno. I'm proud of you.

[Don't mind that he is proud of him even just for standing around, it still counts. He finally lets the kid go and opens the door to let him inside.]

Okay, what do you want to eat?

[deceases]

[ Part of him doesn't mind and maybe even likes hugs, really, but it's a part already buried deep inside him. And the thoughts that are much more easily accessible to him instinctively try to escape the hugs, so that's why he always tends to attempt that first. But at least he's been let go of, he can stand on his own again.. ]

.. I don't really care.. [ He's just as unopinionated on most things as a kid as he would be as a teen, really. It's the apathy. ] Weren't you making something already? I'll just eat that if I have to.

[This is a restaurant, kid, there's always food being made.]

Want okonomiyaki then?

[ Hey, maybe Goku was working on something specific. :| Besides, he's used to the food on the menu now, he can eat any of it..

So at the response there's a small nod. ]

... It'll taste good if you make it no matter what either way. [ see, his big brother can make him say nice things. just sometimes. ]
