Who: YOU AND ME! THAT SPELLS... MOUYE?
What: More event shenanigans

Summary: It's that special time when the Malnosso collect all their recent experiments and apply them all at once to measure effectiveness. Although invaluable as research, it tends to leave the subjects looking just a bit mad.

So there is a mod post and it pretty much tells you EVERYTHING you need to know. This is a second log so people can change up their effects and try something new, jump into the event late, or just avoid the impending CAPTCHA on the first log.

Knowing the Malnosso? It will either be today, or in a week. Or a month. Who knows? You just have to learn to grin and bear it.

[He offers Red a soft smile.]

[He chuckles though, riding on the laziness that the whiskey provided. Relaxing like this was something he needed to do more often.]

[A smile, a sip of Gin. A languid slouch forward against the bar.]

I'm going to keep my rapier on me. Ben's been kind enough to help me learn to adjust the saber forms to a weapon with a single edge.

That's a good idea. In time, you'll be able to figure out more things to do with it too. It's a weapon that suits you.

[If he could help it, Adele wouldn't have to face being injured again. The tumbler clicks on the wooden counter when he sets it down and straightens his posture. He angles his head toward her, the barest glimmer of a smile lighting on his face.]

[He lifts a shoulder, looking back over at Red. Whatever happens, he'll do what he can to be ready for it. They can't prepare for everything but. They'll do what they can.]

Jack did say it suited me better than a shortsword. And it suits Makashi far better than a dagger.

[There was a chord of determination under his tone, one that suggested that he would accept nothing less. He would be ready--he just prayed that everyone else was.]

A rapier is also elegant and graceful, as if it were made for dancers to wield.

[Morbid and somewhat cold, but. It was how it was. Succeed or die trying.]

It does lend itself to some elaborate foot and bladework. More than even a lightsaber, now that I think on it. The one drawback is I cannot use trakata with a rapier.

[Red raises his glass in a silent salute at her words and takes a deep sip from it, swallowing the morbitity with his iced whiskey. It was an acquired taste.]

...That's why it suits you. Unfortunately, I never really asked about the different styles of fighting with the Sabers. Care to explain trakata?

I've volumes of notes on it, more than I did before. And recordings- Levarre saw fit to demonstrate forms with the video camera I earned.

Trakata- it's a trick. What is it that you can do with a lightsaber that you can't with any other bladed weapon?

[He chuckled at his own joke, just glad for the distraction. He was leaving Lupin reasonable notes this time, as opposed to relying on the man's intellect like he did before. There were no fighting styles to be learned...but there was data and information.

Turn the blade off. You can't very well do that with any other bladed weapon, can you? It's good for unbalancing a foe, or for getting past an opponent's guard. Jedi don't employ it because it is deception, Sith do not because it requires forethought.

[Yeah, that caught him. Red shakes his head--of course it was something like that!]

Then who invented it if neither Jedi nor Sith use it?

Why the Force Adepts and rogues. The scoundrels and duelists, those that have tricks to spare and no scruples about using them to win.

Funny. Whether you try or not, you always find the scoundrels and the ones that break the rules.

They're the most interesting people to know.

You know? It's wierd. I never planned on making tons of friends here. It just...kinda happened.

No one plans on making friends Red. Well. Aside from Pinky and the rest of the Technicolor quadrupeds. It happens on it's own. I certainly didn't expect to make any lasting connections here.

Well, it looks like it happened for both of us.

...I don't regret it.
