Summary: It's that special time when the Malnosso collect all their recent experiments and apply them all at once to measure effectiveness. Although invaluable as research, it tends to leave the subjects looking just a bit mad.

So there is a mod post and it pretty much tells you EVERYTHING you need to know. This is a second log so people can change up their effects and try something new, jump into the event late, or just avoid the impending CAPTCHA on the first log.

[Unfortunately for the little fox spirit, Miyabi's been in the body of a wolf before - a few times, in fact - so she's pretty used to the mechanics and movements overall. Running is a bit easier for her than for the little kit, it seems. She closes in, quickly, bracing for what this spirit could conjure up. Nine tailed foxes are supposedly the most powerful, and more sneaky of the spirits she's familiar with.

But, the calling for help isn't exactly what Miyabi was expecting at all. In a vain attempt to stop, or even slow down, she missteps and trips over her own legs, doing a few cartwheels in the dirt (whimper) before flopping right on her belly about a foot or so away from the poor animal.

O-Oh, gods, ow. ;A;]

[After the wolf fell, Cayla stumbled to her feet. Her paw hurt where she had tripped, but the pain was already fading. She really should start running. It's obvious this wolf has it out for her. But she's honestly concerned; the poor thing fell a lot harder and heavier than she did, and it could be hurt. So she approaches the much larger canine, cautious and ready to dart.]

Are... are you alright?

[Aaagh, oh gods, did she land on a rock? A root? Ugh, it felt that way...how in the world did Ammy do all these things? Being a wolf - or just having four legs - is tough! It's so much different than Miyabi thought. She looks at the small fox and nods her head once, then untangles herself and gets up, albeit a bit wobbly at first.

But hey, what about you? Miyabi's pretty sure this little fox spirit isn't what she first thought, and now that her fears of a benevolent and mischievous spirit wandering about the forest and village is gone, she's beginning to feel a little worried for the animal, too. Or...whoever this animal could be, if it's not an animal. She leans down, slowly to not scare the poor thing any more, and gives it a couple of gentle sniffs.]

[Cayla shrinks back slightly from the wolf as it stands. It leans over, and it takes a lot of willpower for her to hold her legs steady; even so, she shakes a little. Having such a huge muzzle so close is scary, but at least the wolf's mouth isn't open now. She allows it to get closer, closer... ok, any closer and she WILL bolt. But the wolf stops there, and takes a few soft sniffs.

Though fox scent dominates, a keen nose will detect traces of less normal smells. There's the slight edge of spirit-ness that marks her as more than a normal fox, but also even stranger undertones. Chicken. Herbs. Fabric softener. Shampoo. Not normal fox odors at all, really. And not appetizing, no matter how afraid Cayla is.]

[Miyabi perks her ears after she picks up the scents - human, and...spirit. Yes, definitely a spirit fox, the kyuubi Miyabi's heard stories of near and far. This one is so small, though. The ones Miyabi's heard stories about were gargantuan in size and ravaged lands with little to no remorse at all. They were some of the most merciless and cunning evil spirits that plagued Nippon.

But this one is so small, so fearful, and obvious part human. Miyabi pulls back, shaking her head. The latter scents of shampoo and fabric softener aren't exactly pleasant on her strong nose, and the wolf sneezes once. Ah...gross. Who's have thought she'd actually find things that she liked as a human so offensive to her nose? Being a wolf is odder than she thought.]

[The sniffing is done, the wolf is pulling back, and... That was a pretty big sneeze. Directly onto Cayla's head and shoulders. Sneezing on a spirit may be folly in some worlds, but right now it's merely foul. A quick shake clears the worst of it, though she will still need to clean herself more thoroughly at some point. And ignore the instinct to do so with her tongue.

Cayla stares up at the wolf. It isn't barking or biting anymore. In fact, the larger animal looks confused. Definitely better than aggression, but slightly troubling all the same. Cayla doesn't know of the kyuubi of Nippon, but she is aware of the tricky nature of foxes from Japanese mythology. However, not all Jappanese spirit foxes are mischievous or malicious. Certainly not herself.]

[O-Oops...she sneezed on it. Ehehe, hopefully it doesn't do anything bad or something. Sure, Miyabi was used to dealing with demons and imps and stuff back home (Kamui was crawling with them), but still...she wants to play it safe. The fox spirit doesn't seem bad, and it looks more fearful than angry or vengeful or whatever.

Folding her ears back, Miyabi whines quietly to show she's sorry and lays down on her belly, to lower herself down to the fox's level a bit more. She really wishes she could talk, or write, but this wolf isn't as magical as the one she was turned into long ago. This one just seems rather ordinary. She swishes her tail slowly and noses the ground. Maybe...maybe she could...draw...a house--

Ugh. Worst looking house she's made in decades - with her nose no less, but it looks like a house. She then looks back up at the fox and tilts her head questioningly.]

[Cayla looks down at the wolf's efforts. It's... a rectangle. With a triangle. Oh, a house. Lucky she has student-teaching experience, or she might not have made that connection. But the fact the wolf is sketching in the dust at all suggests that it is intelligent, or at least artistic. Certainly not a normal animal.

Cayla shifts her weight onto her rear legs and sits before the wolf, glancing straight into its eyes before refocusing on the ground. She lifts her right paw and digs a deep question mark next to the first sketch, looking back into the wolf's eyes when she is done. Hopefully that makes sense, or communication could get tricky.]

[Miyabi stares right back, and her ears perk up once the fox begins to draw as well. At first she doesn't really understand what the small creature was asking, but she...thinks it's asking where she lives. Oh, how is Miyabi going to answer that? It's not exactly easy to draw a cherry blossom tree in the dirt without it looking like any other tree. She'd need pink paint for that and that's...not going to happen.

She folds her ears back and makes a whining sound in her throat before drawing again, with her nose. It's terribly hard, and she goes a little cross-eyed trying to focus on the lines, but the image is that of a large tree on a hill, with a few smaller trees flanking it. Hopefully the fox will understand that it's the cherry tree hill.]

[Hmm... It's a hill. There are a lot of those in Luceti. But most aren't noticeable, because they're covered in trees, while this one appears to have fewer. Maybe it's that one hill... The one with the cherry trees. It has fewer trees! Or it could indicate the forest in general... But nevermind that, let's stick with the cherry hill. The trees even kinda look like cherry trees...

At least it answers one question. This wolf isn't a normal animal, which means it's either a resident or shifted, like her. Who it may be, however, is a much harder question. Cayla can speak in this form, but she's not positive that the wolf will understand. Why is this all so difficult?!]
