Who: YOU AND ME! THAT SPELLS... MOUYE?
What: More event shenanigans

Where: All around Luceti. Actually that's wrong. Anywhere INSIDE Luceti.
Summary: It's that special time when the Malnosso collect all their recent experiments and apply them all at once to measure effectiveness. Although invaluable as research, it tends to leave the subjects looking just a bit mad.

So there is a mod post and it pretty much tells you EVERYTHING you need to know. This is a second log so people can change up their effects and try something new, jump into the event late, or just avoid the impending CAPTCHA on the first log.

[Oh to be young and unaware?]

I haven't done much with them, admittedly. I did practice it a little, though.

[It was trickier than he thought it would be.]

[And full of shameless enthusiasm.]

Have your journal on you?

Sure thing- here. [He tugs his journal out of jeans pocket, offering it out to her. He watches curiously to see what she'll do; he's never tried to use it as a camera before.]

[She nodded towards the book.]

Put your best filter on there, and Ah'll tighten it up for ya afterwards. Unless you don't care if the whole place is seein' a picture of him.

Okay, got it...

[Give him a minute and he'll scribble something out. He doesn't really care if it's bad or not, in the end, but he does try his best to make it secure. He'd kind of like this to be a private thing- just for him. Explaining a public picture would be hard to do without Teddy here.

After a few moments, he offers the journal out to her again.]

It's not very good, but it's a start, anyway.

[She takes the journal casually and starts fixing up his filter.]

It's easier ta work once you've got somethin' started.

[She fixes it up and turns the book over.]

Say "cheese."

[He takes a couple of seconds to fix up his shirt and brush a hand over his hair- he wants it to look right, after all. Teddy's hair is impossible so it's probably beyond hope, but it's the thought that counts.

Once satisfied, he looks over at the journal and gives it his best smile. The kind of smile that Teddy would use, the one reserved just for him.]

[Rogue, the cheater, has already had the whole thing on video function, panning up and then focusing on his face as he smiles. She turns it off then and hands the book back to Billy.]

There you go.

[Billy takes the journal back, tugging it back open to look at the new entry they'd created. It's the same face he'd been looking at in his reflection all morning: same eyes, same features, same impossible blond hair.

The smile, though- it's not the same. Because before now it had all been him, but for that one moment, that single instance, he'd brought Teddy out. He'd smiled like Teddy because he'd been trying to smile for Teddy. The way Teddy smiled at him.

Now, looking at that picture, it finally sinks in- that Teddy isn't here. That Teddy might not be coming. That it could be weeks, months, years, if the people here can be believed, before they see each other again.

And now he just wants to cry all over again.]

[...well, that wasn't as planned.]

Hey, you all right?

Yeah... yeah, I uh- [He stops, brushing a hand over his eyes quickly before lifting his head to offer her another smile. Teddy doesn't cry. And, really, he's just happy. Torn, missing his other half, but happy he can have this much.] I'm okay. Thank you, really. This is great.

[Heh.]

Easy on the enthusiasm, kid. You don't have to be all right. But give yourself some time.

Don't worry, I will. Not like I have much choice here, anyway.

[He shrugs; he doesn't want to waste time being depressed about this, so he'll do his best to work past it. At least when he has company.]

What about you? You look pretty different to me.

So Ah've heard.

[She shrugs.]

It's all Ah remember.

You remember this place, but... differently?

[This smells like an alternate reality. He hates alternate realities.]

Got it in one.

[She's not too fussed. Either everyone else is wrong, or she's wrong, and it'll sort itself out eventually.

...on the other hand? She'd really love to punch the Malnosso in the jaw for this. But when does that urge ever actually go away?]

...That's weird. [Statement of the obvious, he knows.] I wonder if that means you're more like the Rogue I know. ...Well, sort of know. The one from my universe.

[Her eyebrows go up.]

Ah didn't realize we were previously acquainted. Want to take a guess?

I wouldn't even know where to start guessing... I honestly don't know much about her. You. Either of you.

[He grins a bit sheepishly.]

Just that you're one of the X-men. But that might be a given in any universe.

[Hey. Hey, Billy. Guess what? That was the right guess.

She laughs a little, more subtly relaxed.]

Ah sure hope so.

[He glances down at her gloves, lips pursing.]

And... probably the same powers, I'm guessing.

[Which admittedly sucks- he can't imagine being stuck with that ability, unable to control it. It's not fair.]

[And her eyebrows go up.]

Probably. Ah'm not used ta that bein' public knowledge around here - guess it is, where you're from?

Mostly, yeah. I mean- if you know where to look. Which I do.

Which is where, exactly?

Uh... the internet?

[That's a valid place to look, right?]
