Summary: It's that special time when the Malnosso collect all their recent experiments and apply them all at once to measure effectiveness. Although invaluable as research, it tends to leave the subjects looking just a bit mad.

So there is a mod post and it pretty much tells you EVERYTHING you need to know. This is a second log so people can change up their effects and try something new, jump into the event late, or just avoid the impending CAPTCHA on the first log.

I can't swim- haven't been able to do it since I got automail. I'd just sink like a stone. So get your dragon to take us for a ride under the water.

[With wings like that, he's gotta be able to propel himself under the sea, right?]

[Toothless hollers at the suggestion. Clearly, he thinks this is a great idea. Hiccup seems less convinced though.]

Are you sure that would be a good idea, madame? What if you were to slip and sink to the bottom of the ocean? It would be catastrophe!

I think that's a risk I'm willing to take if you are. Why, are you scared?

[Come on, brave sir Hiccup, show us just how valiant you are.]

[dragoneer]

Scared? [Yeah his voice totally breaks a little. Swallow.] I don't know the meaning of the word! Come on, Toothless! Let's show her what we're made of!

[The dragon nods, and Hiccup shifts gears yet again, propelling them beneath the surface of the water. Hold on tight!]

[It takes a significant amount of effort to keep from laughing, which would of course be a bad thing to do underwater. The impact nearly takes her breath away, and she's clinging to Hiccup all over again, her chin on his shoulder, watching the world around her rush by in a blur.

This? Feels pretty cool. She's missed swimming, after all.]

[dragoneer]

[Toothless propels them through the water, before scooping back up unto the air so all of them can catch their breath.]

Again?

...Again! [She has to reply through her laughter, which is proving to be difficult. This is the most fun she's had in ages.]

[Dude this is so a grand slam. Best riding date ever.

Toothless hooks low into the water again, staying submerged for long this time.]

[He's cutting it pretty close - she's not used to holding her breath, after all - but she's still having a blast. She does give Hiccup's shoulder an urgent little tap when it feels like they might never surface again, though. Best not to make a lady pass out on the first date!]

[What if it means she needs mouth-to-mouth resuscitation?

...Okay, no, he'll urge Toothless upward again when squeezes his shoulder, and they erupt from the water into the sky.]

I'd say that was rather refreshing, wouldn't you?

[Yeah he'd like that wouldn't he.

Once they surface, she inhales deeply, letting herself laugh a bit as she winds down.]

Oh, wow! Yeah, can't argue with that one. That was amazing!

The beach is very beautiful this time of year. Perhaps we could stop for a stroll?

[So he can confess his love? Pour out his soul? Whisper sweet nothings?]

Hmm... well, I guess you've earned it. Okay, a walk it is.

[She'll humour him for the moment.]

[dragoneer]

[Toothless touches down at the edge of the tide and Hiccup unlatches his pegleg from the stirrup. Like a perfect gentleman, he'll hop off Toothless' saddle and offer her his hand as she gets down.]

[Man, he is really heaping on the courtesy, isn't he? He better not ask for favours later... smirking slightly to herself, Ed accepts his hand and lets him help her down.

You know what? He's been nice, well-behaved, he did her a favour. He deserves a little something. So once both feet are on the ground, she flings her arms around him for a proper hug. It's not much, but she's not usually the huggy sort, so it's a pretty big deal.]

He will cherish this hug, Ed. He will cherish it very much. Sure, it's not a kiss, but he'll just have to make do for now, won't he?]

[She pulls back, offering him a smirk as she starts to walk along the sand.]

[His suave smile temporarily drops as he starts to walk, too.]
