Summary: Masaomi wanted to see his friends before the draft and ts' his birthday tomorrow. So he took the thing Mikado Announced and decided to make it on the day before to make it easier on everyone

[Well it's a "party" - Masaomi at least didn't plan for things like decorations or a cake, so there's just the video games, pool table, air hockey, and whatever else is normally here. If other people brought cake or food though, that's good! His message said that this was't planned (mostly because with is broke arm he can't lug anything and he didn't want to force that on Shikamaru. But yeah!! Let's... okay so it might not be the most enjoyable thing ever given the date, but let's interact!

I'll be making subthreads for gifts and food (the later because it's not supplied so people know what's there) but other than that make your own thread, mingle, mass log stuff ♥ If you character is a friend of Masaomi's assume he rang them about the date-change. Same for anyone who replied to Mikado's entry about it. If you want to crash it that's okay too, or say you heard from someone else or just followed someone there or... anything...]

Anyway, sixteen is the age of majority in my tribe. That's the big celebration - after that, it's usually just a feast day. Maybe a few presents from close friends or family, but... it's not usually as big as anything like this.

I think we just celebrate them for the heck of it. Things like graduations and promotions are what tells the coming of age, where I'm from.

Ah - [Katara glanced down, the shadow of a memory stirring - narrowed streets, flashes of green.] - well. It's always nice to have an excuse to celebrate.

I like the other days of the year, myself.

Get-togethers like these are fine. They might even be growing on me.

But to me, the time spent with my comrades year round is a celebration of its own. [A warm smiles spreads over his face.] Appreciating those moments needs no fuss, nor excuse.

[That gives him pause. He was thinking about his best friend as he said it - it would be the Chouji response for sure - but he wasn't expecting her to point it out.

You ain't kidding. [He jerks his thumb back towards the food table.] You can't fit an Akimichi spread on that flimsy thing.

Definitely not. And to think, someone brought a vegetable platter.

[It was her, and he probably knows it, along with what is apparently the majority of the (store-bought) food over there.]
