I've been chillin' out on a star with my 5 star view

Summary: The battle finally begins! First there's asteroids to take down, then we finally arrive!

All the details you need are here, so read up on it. This didn't get mentioned before, but you can tag the cultists instead of killing them. Details on this are on a previous draft post. Using the scanners are optional!

There will be a thread for interacting with NPCs, but they may not all go up at once, so keep an eye out for them.

Note: A log for the events in the village will go up on the 21st, in time for the hurricane and droid incursion.

We were. I can't really believe I thought I could make it through life alone. Now, I don't know what I'd do without everyone. As sad as I am that we're all stuck here, I'm still glad to know that you're hear with me.

[She doesn't think she could make it on her own here]

When I first came to Luceti, I wasn't on good terms with you and everyone. So I felt like I didn't have people here to rely on.

I was glad to learn I was wrong. And I was glad to make new friends, too.

[Thats right, Mercury had mentioned that she wasn't entirely herself when she first came. That must have been a truly frightful experience...]

I'm glad you were too.

[She offers a sly grin, its a moment of rest, may as well tease a little...]

Did your guy friend come on the draft?

[Mars!]

This isn't the time to be thinking of that! [Or more accurately, it flusters her, as red spreads over her face again despite herself, and she ducks her head slightly hide it.]

Haha, I just wanted to see what you'd say!

[She smiles again, then adopts a more serious face. The rubble was beginning to shift. Something BIG was coming through that breach, and her debris wasn't going to hold it long...]

There! [She spots it, too, just a few seconds afterward; perhaps her attention was drawn by Rei's.

It's also a very well-timed interruption. This is much more important to focus on.]

Yea! Look out!

[The rubble explodes outward, a big Elite shifter stomping through, roaring angrily at them!]

[If she were the type to swear, this would be a good time for it. What should they do against one of the Elite shifters?

She moves quickly, drawing its attention to give Mars the chance to attack forcefully. If they catch it between them, it'll be easier to wound it.]

[Mars nods, knowing instinctively what Mercury is going to do. She begins to charge a spell up.]

Careful!

[A crisp nod, and Mercury actually grins.]

The one who should be careful is our enemy who thinks it can challenge us!

[With that, she moves again; always quickly, never staying in place, a perfect distraction.]

Over here!

[The Elite rushes blindly forward, taking up most of the hallway in fact. It won't get close to touching Mercury, but its sites are CLEARLY set on Mars!

...shit...]

[Her heart skips a beat with the idea of Mars being hurt. Mercury snaps back to attention, and holds out a fist. Her fingers close around the star tambourine, and she stretches out her arm, letting a wave of blue energy strike the enemy right away.]

[...which gives Mars time to skip out of the way and let loose her spell. Fire roars and strikes the beast in the front, shaking it and sending it crashing to the ground. Its moving...getting back up!]

[Thank goodness! Mercury stays serious, though; the time for relief will be after the enemy is defeated. Her ice could hold it, but the ice could melt under Mars' fire. She calls out to Mars instead.]

You have to defeat him, before he escapes!

Together Mercury, like we practiced!

[With a cry, Mars began chanting strange syllables, charging up another flame attack]

FIRE SOUL BIRD!!

[Together. Mercury nods, and calls out her own attack at the very same time. Synched, they strike as one, stronger than the sum of their parts.]

[The powers swirl together, Ice freezing the enemy solid while Fire shatters it, the enemy crumbling under the withering attack]

[As soon as its gone, she keeps her eyes sharp and alert, but she takes a second to catch her breath. Her eyes find Mars' finally, and she sounds relieved.]

We did it!

Yea! Whew, that...could have been bad.

[She breathes a heavy sigh and leans against a wall. This battle...was exhausting]

Are you alright, Rei-chan? [Mercury defaults to the civilian name, and looks Mars over with concern.] If it hurts, tell me.

Don't worry about me, Ami-chan. I'm fine. Just tired.

[That's a bit odd, but she doesn't mind]

Seriously, we've been fighting for almost three days now.

If you need a rest, be sure to take one. Even though the battle is hard, if you fight when you're tired, you'll start to wear out and make mistakes.

I...think I should catch my breath here. That seemed to be the last of the enemy in this section.

I'll stay, too, then. We shouldn't split up now with no enemy to catch.

[She could use the rest herself. Actually, a comfortable bed would sound heavenly - but she'll enjoy it all the more once she gets to one, right?]

Mmm, that's a good plan.

[Mars leans against a wall and slides down, grateful for the chance to rest]
